• Lions' David Montgomery: Reaches end zone in defeat

  Montgomery carried the ball seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown and failed to reel in his only target in Sunday's 41-34 loss to the Rams. Montgomery was able to reach the end zone for the third straight week, plunging in for a one-yard score in the fourth quarter. The running back has now gone five straight games without double-digit carries after having reached at least 11 totes in seven of the team's first nine contests of the year. Montgomery has turned 136 carries into 635 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 21 of 26 targets for 164 yards over 14 games this season.

  Montgomery remains in play as a flex option in Week 15 at the Rams, but it's hard to trust him in this matchup since he's so touchdown-dependent. He's scored in each of his past two games against Green Bay and Dallas, but he had 10 total touches or less in each outing. And prior to Week 13, Montgomery went three games in a row without a touchdown and averaged 7.2 PPR points over that span. The Rams have also allowed the fewest rushing touchdowns to running backs this season with two, and this feels like a bad setup for Montgomery in this game.

• Lions' David Montgomery: Long TD run in primetime win

  Montgomery rushed six times for 60 yards and a touchdown while bringing in his only target for 13 yards in the Lions' 44-30 win over the Cowboys on Thursday night. Montgomery logged his fourth consecutive single-digit carry tally, but he produced his best yardage total over that span by far with a big hand from his impressive 35-yard touchdown run up the middle in the latter portion of the second quarter. The veteran back crossed the 600-yard mark on the ground for the season as well with Thursday's production, and he's recorded a rushing score in consecutive games heading into a Week 15 road matchup against the Rams on Sunday, Dec. 14.

• Lions' David Montgomery: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)

  Montgomery had a solid Fantasy outing in Week 13 against Green Bay with 12.8 PPR points because he scored a touchdown for the first time since Week 9. He finished the game with eight carries for 32 yards and two catches for 16 yards on two targets, and hopefully he can build on that performance in Week 14 against Dallas. I would use him as a flex option at best since the Cowboys run defense has been tough since acquiring Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson via trade. In the past three games against Ashton Jeanty, Saquon Barkley and Kareem Hunt, that trio has combined for 30 carries for 87 yards and no touchdowns. And Dallas is actually No. 1 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to running backs over that span. Jahmyr Gibbs remains a must-start Fantasy running back because of his role in the passing game, but Montgomery could struggle if he fails to find the end zone.

• Lions' David Montgomery: Gets back into end zone in loss

  Montgomery carried the ball eight times for 32 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for 16 yards in Thursday's 31-24 loss to the Packers. He also threw an incomplete pass. The second-quarter TD was Montgomery's sixth of the season, but his first since Week 9, as Jahmyr Gibbs had produced Detroit's last four rushing touchdowns. Montgomery has been more clearly the No. 2 option in the Lions' backfield this season as opposed to a 1B behind Gibbs, but he's still delivered 543 rushing yards in 12 games along with a 20-151-0 line on 24 targets. Montgomery will look to get into the end zone in consecutive games for the first time since Weeks 2 and 3 in a Week 14 matchup against the Cowboys.
