• Falcons' Brian Robinson: In line to sign with Atlanta

  Robinson is expected to sign with the Falcons, Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com and NFL reporter Jordan Schultz report. A third-round pick in 2022, Robinson spent the first three seasons of his career with Washington while producing between 733 and 799 rushing yards in each campaign. He was dealt to the 49ers last August and served as Christian McCaffrey's top backup in 2025, turning 100 touches into 425 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs. Considering he'll be working behind another workhorse back in Bijan Robinson for Atlanta, the former Commander and Niner likely will take on a similar workload in his new locale.

• 49ers' Brian Robinson: Role marginalized in playoffs

  Robinson had three carries for four yards and one reception for three yards in Saturday's 41-6 playoff loss to the Seahawks. Robinson was able to get involved in the offensive game plan in the divisional round after garnering no touches across seven offensive snaps (12 percent) in San Francisco's wild-card win over the Eagles. The power back was traded to the 49ers last August and offered a true change of pace to Christian McCaffrey's electric running style. Robinson finished the regular season with a 92-400-2 rushing line while appearing in 17 contests behind McCaffrey. The 26-year-old Robinson will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and should have no problem finding work after averaging 4.1 YPC across four seasons as a pro.

• 49ers' Brian Robinson: Just two carries in loss to SEA

  Robinson rushed two times for nine yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Saturday's 13-3 loss to Seattle. Robinson was only on the field for six offensive snaps (his lowest total since Week 8) with his club playing catch-up all evening. The veteran backup typically garners extra touches in contests San Francisco has a lead, but otherwise, it's been the Christian McCaffrey Show in 2025. Robinson appeared in all 17 regular-season contests in his first year with the 49ers, compiling 400 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a change-of-pace role. The 26-year-old will continue spelling CMC in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

• 49ers' Brian Robinson: Gains 20 yards Monday

  Robinson rushed five times for 20 yards while failing to catch his only target in Monday's 48-27 win over Indianapolis. Robinson was limited to five carries -- his lowest total since Week 9 -- behind another dominant showing from starter Christian McCaffrey (146 yards and two TDs). The 26-year-old Robinson has been held under 30 rushing yards in all three games since the 49ers' Week 14 bye. With a healthy McCaffrey dominating San Francisco's backfield touches, there simply hasn't enough work left for Robinson to carve out a significant fantasy role ahead of a clash with the Bears on Sunday.

• 49ers' Brian Robinson: Another down game in Week 15

  Robinson rushed nine times for 21 yards and returned two kicks for 53 yards in Sunday's 37-24 win over the Titans. Robinson struggled in his change-of-pace role Sunday after finishing the contest with a season-worst 2.3 YPC. The veteran backup has finished with a per-carry average below 4.0 yards in three out of his last four outings with no trips to the end zone over that span. Robinson's recent struggles and marginal role on offense make him an unsavory fantasy option against the Colts in Week 16.
