Akers reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log. Akers played four snaps on special teams during the Seahawks' overtime win over the Rams on Thursday and did not appear in the box score otherwise. Akers is eligible to be elevated from the practice squad for each of the final two games of the regular season, and he could play in Week 17 against the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 28, if George Holani (hamstring) is not activated from injured reserve.

The Seahawks have elevated Akers for Thursday's game against the Rams, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Akers, who is on his second stint with Seattle's practice squad this season, will be elevated for his first contest with the team. The veteran running back will handle the No. 3 running back role behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, and he could continue to do so until such time as George Holani (hamstring) is ready to come off IR.

The Seahawks signed Akers on Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN reports. Akers is headed to Seattle after being cut from Minnesota's practice squad last week. The 26-year-old carried the ball five times for 19 yards in three appearances with the Vikings. He should serve as the Seahawks' No. 3 running back for Sunday's matchup against his former team, as George Holani is doubtful with a hamstring injury.

Akers threw a 32-yard touchdown pass on his only snap on offense while being used as a wildcat quarterback in Sunday's win over Cleveland in London. Akers threw a perfect pass to Josh Oliver on a trick play. Akers was a successful high school quarterback and threw several halfback passes in college. Aside from the trick play, Akers had little role on offense, as he served as the team's No. 3 running back for the third straight week behind Jordan Mason and Zavier Scott, with Aaron Jones (hamstring) still on injured reserve.
