Pinnock (toe) is participating at the Giants' OTAs, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Pinnock was placed on injured reserve with a toe injury prior to Week 18 last season. He registered career highs across the board prior to the injury with 85 tackles (59 solo), including 2.0 sacks, six passes defended and two interceptions. The 24-year-old projects to compete with rookie second-round pick Tyler Nubin for reps at free safety in the upcoming season.

The Giants placed Pinnock (toe) on the injured reserve list Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Pinnock sustained a toe injury in Week 17 against the Rams. He was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles on Friday and was placed on IR one day later. In his third year in the NFL, Pinnock registered career highs with 85 tackles (59 solo), including 2.0 sacks, six passes defended and two interceptions while adding two forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown over 16 games.

Pinnock (toe) was considered to be a nonparticipant at the Giants' walk-through Wednesday. Pinnock suffered a toe injury in New York's narrow loss to the Rams in Week 17, forcing him to exit the contest in the first quarter, so his absence Wednesday isn't a major surprise. The safety will have two more chances to practice this week ahead of the Giants' final contest of the year Sunday versus the Eagles.

Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports that Pinnock was seen wearing a walking boot following Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Rams, and the safety told reporters after the game that X-rays came back clear. Pinnock sustained the foot injury in the first quarter and did not return to the contest. He'll have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the issue but told reporters that he was feeling alright. Pinnock finished Sunday's contest with two tackles.

Pinnock recorded eight tackles (seven solo), including a sack, in Sunday's loss to the Saints. Pinnock tied for the team lead in stops, with one of his tackles being a sack of Derek Carr in the second quarter. It was the safety's second sack of the season and New York's only sack of the contest. Through 14 games, Pinnock has tallied a career-high 77 stops (54 solo) along with a forced fumble and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
