• Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Could see even more playing time?

  New Raiders coach Klint Kubiak hinted Wednesday that Jeanty could play even more of an every-down workhorse role in his second season, Paul Gutierrez of the team's official site reports. It comes off as typical coach speak that is routinely thrown around at this stage of the offseason, but it's at least worth noting nonetheless. "It's important to have a quality second back, but the best player has got to play, and we've got to get them on the field as much as we can," Kubiak said. "I don't know the play-snap percentage, but you look at Christian McCaffrey, his play-snap percentage is high. So, those great backs, they don't want to come off the field." Only nine running backs handled more carries and played more snaps than Jeanty last season, so it'll be tough to truly put significantly more on his plate in 2026, but the hope is for far better efficiency behind an improved offensive line with better coaching and quarterback play. Currently in the mix for RB touches that don't go to Jeantyare rookie fourth-rounder Mike Washington, as well as Dylan Laube, Chris Collier and UDFA addition Roman Hemby.

• Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Finishes shy of 1,000 rushing yards

  Jeanty rushed the ball 26 times for 87 yards in Sunday's 14-12 win over the Chiefs. He added three receptions on five targets for seven yards. Jeanty unsurprisingly remained the focal point of the offense, logging over 25 total touches for the second time in his last three games. He didn't find much running room, though he did manage two rushes of at least 10 yards. Jeanty ultimately finished his rookie campaign with 1,321 yards from scrimmage while falling only 25 rushing yards short of 1,000. The Raiders secured the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft despite the win and are almost certain to select a quarterback, so Jeanty should have a better supporting cast around him for his sophomore campaign.

  Jeanty just had 25 touches and produced 188 yards and two touchdowns. You would be forgiven if you accused me of chasing points. But this is not that. In Week 17 he gets his first good matchup since before Christmas.The Giants are giving up 26.47 PPR FPPG to opposing running backs and 5.71 yards per carry to the position on the year. Jeanty could be the RB1 this week.

• Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Overcomes tough matchup against HOU

  Jeanty ran the ball 24 times for 128 yards and a touchdown while catching one of two targets for 60 yards and another score in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Texans. Jeanty was mired in a three-game slump in which he failed to top 35 rushing yards in each start, but he broke out in impressive fashion by scoring touchdowns as both a runner and receiver Sunday. The 21-year-old accomplished the feat against arguably the league's fiercest defense of 2025, helping push the Texans to the brink of a potential shocking upset. The outburst coincided with the return of starting QB Geno Smith (shoulder/back), but the rookie tailback had been struggling with the veteran signal-caller under center earlier in the schedule. Jeanty will attempt to sprint to the finish line of an inconsistent rookie campaign by taking advantage of a soft matchup against the Giants next Sunday.

  Jeanty has struggled in the past two games against Denver and Philadelphia with a combined 14.0 PPR points over that span. He's been at 35 rushing yards or less in three games in a row, and he has one touchdown on a reception since Week 10. The Texans are No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs for the season and No. 6 in the past five weeks, and Houston has allowed just two total touchdowns to running backs over that span. The good news for Jeanty is Geno Smith (shoulder) will return in Week 16, but this is still a tough matchup for the Raiders on the road. I would only use Jeanty as a low-end No. 2 running back at best in the majority of leagues.
