  Tate has the chance to be a standout receiver in Fantasy and reality, but let him prove himself first. He should only be started in three-receiver leagues in his first NFL start against the Jets. It was a rough preseason for the Titans and Tate, who played 38 snaps in three exhibition games but failed to catch a pass on six targets. It's a small sample size, and Tate could easily perform well against the Jets. Cam Ward will hopefully rely on Tate, but I could see Wan'Dale Robinson having a better game in this matchup. I'm hopeful Tate gets off to a good start in his rookie campaign, but I don't want to trust him yet as a starter in most Fantasy leagues.

This is a great development for Tate after he dealt with an undisclosed issue late in preseason. The rookie had been dealing with some stiffness late in the preseason but seems to be trending in the right direction as the Titans' season-opener approaches. Official word on whether Tate was a full or limited participant will come after the Titans release their practice report later Wednesday afternoon.

  Coach Robert Saleh said Tate (undisclosed) missed Tuesday's practice due to some "stiffness," Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. There's been no indication the first-round rookie wideout's status for Week 1 against the Jets is in any sort of danger. Tate played 38 offensive snaps during the preseason but failed to catch any of his six targets across the three exhibition contests. He's expected to serve as Cam Ward's top downfield weapon this season with slot man Wan'Dale Robinson (head) handling underneath routes, though Calvin Ridley is still in the mix at the position. There could be growing pains for Tate in 2026 in what is expected to be one of the lowest-scoring offenses in the league.

  Tate failed to bring in his only target in the Titans' 24-15 preseason loss to the Bears on Saturday. The rookie fourth overall pick was targeted deep down the left side of the field by Will Levis during the Titans' opening possession, and that was the extent of his action in Saturday's finale. Tate finished the preseason without corralling any of the six targets he saw over three games, but he's still teed up to play a significant role in Tennessee's air attack beginning with a Week 1 home matchup against the Jets.
