Edwards (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Edwards took part in practice Wednesday after being designated for return from injured reserve earlier in the day. Though the Chargers will have a 21-day window to reinstate Edwards to the active roster, he could be activated from IR as soon as Sunday's game against the Titans, if the team is satisfied with how he looks during practice this week. Regardless of when Edwards returns to game action, J.K. Dobbins should continue to lead the Los Angeles backfield.

The Chargers designated Edwards (ankle) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports. Edwards hasn't played since prior to the Chargers' Week 5 bye, but he's eligible to return from IR and will resume practicing ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans. Even if he doesn't get activated ahead of the Week 10 contest, Edwards will presumably be added back to the active roster at some point prior to the expiration of the 21-day practice window. Once available, Edwards will step into a backup role behind J.K. Dobbins.

Edwards (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Edwards' workload had tailed off in Weeks 3 and 4, as he recorded nine carries for 28 yards in the two prior weeks before the bye. J.K. Dobbins has been a revelation as the team's preferred starting running back, but with Edwards out, it's possible rookie sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal will see his first significant action at the NFL level.

Edwards (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos. With Edwards out versus Denver, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal are candidates to see added complementary snaps this weekend behind top RB J.K. Dobbins. Edwards thus will target a potential return to action Monday, Oct. 21 against the Cardinals.

Edwards (ankle) remained a non-participant in practice Friday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Edwards has missed all three of the Chargers' practices, so he'll have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's ruled out on Friday's injury report. Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal could see additional opportunities behind J.K. Dobbins if Edwards doesn't play.
