  • Wilson (coach's decision) will serve as Denver's emergency third quarterback for Thursday's game against New Orleans, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Wilson will once again serve as the emergency quarterback for the Broncos for Thursday's contest. He will only see the field if both starter Bo Nix and backup Jarrett Stidham are removed from the game due to injury.

  • Wilson (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Chargers. Wilson remains the team's No. 3 option at quarterback behind starter Bo Nix and backup Jarrett Stidham. Although, as he has been doing this season, the BYU product will suit up and operate as the team's emergency quarterback, which will allow him to enter the game if Nix and Stidham were to get injured.

  • Wilson completed 16 of 25 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 38-12 preseason win over the Cardinals. He added 22 rushing yards and a TD on two carries. Jarrett Stidham led the offense for Denver's first possession and got the team into the end zone, but Wilson played the rest of the way and had plenty of success, finding Nate Adkins for a one-yard score in the second quarter and Brandon Johnson for a 46-yard TD strike in the fourth. Wilson also added a one-yard touchdown plunge of his own just before halftime. Despite the strong performance, the former Jet will still likely head into the season as the Broncos' No. 3 quarterback, with 2024 12th overall pick Bo Nix having already been named the Week 1 starter.

  • Wilson failed to impress at spring practices, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. Kosmider suggests Wilson seemed to have more trouble than rookie Bo Nix with the adjustment to coach Sean Payton's offense. While Wilson still has time to make an impression during training camp and the preseason, it sounds like he's currently positioned to be the No. 3 QB or even released. The Broncos acquired him in April for a late-round pick swap, trading down from No. 203 to 256 while taking on only half of Wilson's $5.5 million salary from the Jets.
