  Rush (concussion) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Broncos and is expected to play. Rush was able to clear the league's concussion protocol this week and should resume his role on special teams for the Steelers.

  Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Rush is in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Rush will need to gain full medical clearance in order to suit up Sunday on the road against Denver. Tomlin said there is a "level of anticipation" that Rush will be cleared for Week 2, at least. He played exclusively on special teams during Pittsburgh's win over the Falcons in Week 1.

• Chiefs' Darius Rush: Picked up by Kansas City

  Rush was claimed off waivers by the Chiefs on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. After being waived by the Colts on Tuesday, Rush found a new home in Kansas City. The 6-foot-2 cornerback was picked 138th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft after he ran a 4.36 40-yard dash. He'll play a depth role in the Chiefs' secondary ahead of the coming season.

  Rush (shoulder) is practicing Thursday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. Rush has been sidelined by a shoulder injury, but he'll finally get his chance to take the field for training camp. Selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the South Carolina product will be working to earn a depth role in the secondary.
