  Mason returned from a four-game absence with a thumb injury in Week 7 against Indianapolis and had 15 carries for 68 yards and no catches on two targets. Aaron Jones (knee) was injured against the Colts, and Mason could be looking at a hefty workload if Jones is out against the Lions. In five games in 2025 without Jones, Mason averaged 13.5 PPR points per game. Detroit has allowed a running back to score at least 14.8 PPR points in four of six games this season, and I like Mason as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues.

  Mason carried the ball 15 times for 68 yards in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Colts. He failed to catch either of his two targets. Making his return from an IR stint due to a thumb injury that had kept him out since Week 1, Mason ended up leading the Vikings in rushing yards after Aaron Jones aggravated a knee injury and spotted in and out of the lineup. Jones has been getting a hefty workload while Mason was sidelined, but their roles could be reversed in Week 8 against the Lions.

  The Vikings activated Mason (thumb) from injured reserve Saturday, and he does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Colts. Mason has spent the four-game minimum on IR while recovering from a thumb injury, and the veteran running back has been given the green light to return for Week 7. He'll rejoin Aaron Jones in the backfield for Sunday's game, and the veteran duo figure to operate in a timeshare as they did last season.

  Mason (thumb) is expected to return in Week 7 against Indianapolis after missing the past four games, and I like him and Aaron Jones in this matchup. Jones should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy option in all leagues, and Mason is a solid flex. Jones was awesome with Mason out, scoring at least 14.2 PPR points in three games in a row against Tampa Bay, Miami and New Orleans. He had at least 22 total touches in all four games without Mason, but we should see close to even split in Week 7. In Week 1 against Green Bay, when Mason was healthy, he had 15 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown, and Jones had 12 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown. Neither one had a catch, and Jones had one target. The Colts have allowed three running backs -- Derrick Henry in Week 1, Kenneth Walker III in Week 2 and Jaylen Warren in Week 5 -- to score at least 23.8 PPR points. Most likely, Mason and Jones will be close in carries, with Mason working at the goal line, and Jones will be more of a factor in the passing game.

• Vikings' Jordan Mason: Questionable for Sunday

  Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Friday that Mason (thumb) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts after practicing fully all week, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Since he was designated to return from injured reserve Monday, Mason has been listed as full on three straight practice reports, but the Vikings will err on the side of caution, especially because they still must activate him by Saturday afternoon for the running back to have a chance to play Sunday. Assuming that comes to pass, Mason will rejoin Aaron Jones in the backfield, likely in a timeshare as they did in 2025 and in Week 1 before the former suffered a small fracture in his thumb that required surgery.
