Locke (neck) is active for Thursday's Week 10 matchup against Las Vegas. Locke missed last Sunday's win over Houston due to a neck issue, but it appears that his absence won't extend beyond one game. Locke's return will most impact Denver's special-teams unit, as the safety logged just 12 defensive snaps (as opposed to 128 snaps on special teams) over the club's first eight contests.

Locke seemingly suffered the injury during Denver's Week 8 win over the Cowboys, as he began the week with a limited practice session. However, he was unable to practice Friday and will now miss his first game of the season. Locke has played almost exclusively on special teams.

Locke underwent spinal fusion surgery during the offseason and is still recovering, he recently disclosed on his YouTube channel. Locke played through the back injury during the 2024 season and managed to play 982 total snaps over 15 regular-season games despite dealing with considerable pain. His ability to return to the field was in question, but Locke said that his pain levels are minimal and he hopes to be cleared for training camp.

Locke recorded 74 total tackles (50 solo), including 1.0 sacks, two passes defended and one forced fumble over 15 regular-season games in 2024. Locke's tackle total rose for the fifth consecutive season in 2024, as he tallied 21 more stops than he did in 2023. However, despite playing 425 additional defensive snaps, the Texas product recorded fewer passes defended, interceptions and forced fumbles this season compared to last, leaving plenty of room for improvement. Locke is expected to remain in Denver in 2025, having signed a two-year, $7 million extension with the team last offseason. He'll likely have the opportunity to compete for one the Broncos' starting safety spots again throughout the offseason.
