  • Jawhar Jordan: Brought back by Houston
    By RotoWire

The Texans signed Jordan (oblique) to the practice squad Tuesday. Jordan was moved to the Texans' injured reserve after being waived with an injury designation at the end of training camp. He was set to miss the entire regular season, but the two sides were able to reach an injury settlement in early September. Jordan appears to be fully healthy from his oblique injury, and the rookie sixth-round pick will be available for a game-day elevation if the Texans need additional depth at running back.

  • Jawhar Jordan: Reaches injury settlement
    By RotoWire

The Texans waived Jordan (undisclosed) from injured reserve with a settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jordan was selected by the Texans in the sixth round of the draft back in April but his tenure with the team has come to an end. The 25-year-old will focus on getting healthy and then look to catch on with another team.

    By RotoWire

Jordan (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Per the report, the running back plans to do an injury settlement with the Texans at some point, which would giving him a chance to play in 2024 once he's healthy. Jordan had 21 carries for 55 yards and five catches for 49 yards in four preseason appearances with Houston. The rookie was drafted in the sixth round by Houston back in April.

  • Texans' Jawhar Jordan: Used as returner
    By RotoWire

Jordan logged three carries for five yards and returned one kickoff for 15 yards in Thursday's 21-17 preseason loss to Chicago. Houston's top two backs were held out of the game, giving Jordan, Cam Akers and Dare Ogunbowale opportunities to impress the coaching staff. Jordan also rotated in on the kickoff-return team with Steven Sims and Johnny Johnson. Ogunbowale is likely the leader among the three at running back given his experience in the system, but a return job could be winnable for Jordan.

  • Jordan and Dameon Pierce are expected to play extensively in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Bears, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans plans to sit several key starters, including lead back Joe Mixon, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Wilson adds that Jordan has had a string of good practices in which he's shown some skill as a pass-catching back. His background and feel for a zone-scheme rushing attack from his college days could push Pierce, who had difficulty adjusting to the offense in 2023, for the second spot on the depth chart.
