  • Simpson recorded nine total tackles (seven solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional tackle for loss, while also defending one pass in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos. The second-year linebacker from Clemson has continued to improve in his first season as a starter, with the best game of his career coming in Week 9. Simpson played 100.0 percent of Baltimore's defensive snaps for just the second time this season and was all over the field, recording one of five sacks on Bo Nix and finishing as team's second-leading tackler. Expect Simpson to continue starting alongside Roquan Smith as part of the Ravens' top inside-linebacker duo ahead of Thursday night's matchup against the Bengals.

  • Simpson (concussion) was a full participant in Friday's practice and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams. Simpson missed the last three games after sustaining a concussion in Week 10 against the Browns. His return will bolster the Ravens' inside linebacker depth behind starters Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen.

  • Simpson (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice session, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Simpson sustained a concussion in Week 10 against the Browns and missed the next two games. His full participation in Wednesday's practice is a good sign he's on track to return for Sunday's game against the Rams.

  • Coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Simpson is dealing with a "soft tissue" injury and could miss some time, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. The third-round rookie out of Clemson is expected to open his NFL career as the top linebacker reserve behind Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen.

  • The Ravens selected Simpson in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 86th overall. It's not obvious why Simpson fell this far -- he seemed like a fine selection as high as the second round -- but this looks like a solid pick for Baltimore. The Clemson product has 4.43 speed at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds, and in college he showed the ability to play the edge surprisingly well for a player of his frame, which is more commonly seen in off-ball linebackers. Simpson might be able to displace Patrick Queen in time.
