  • Bengals' Evan McPherson: Pens three-year extension

McPherson agreed to terms Friday on a three-year, $16.5 million extension with the Bengals, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

McPherson's new deal reportedly includes $10 million in its first year. The 2021 fifth-round pick converted 26 of 31 field goals across 17 regular-season games last year and was a perfect 40-for-40 on PATs. All five of McPherson's missed field-goal tries in 2023 came from 50-plus yards out. It's no surprise to see Cincinnati ink one of the league's best kickers to a long-term deal, and with Joe Burrow back under center to lead the Bengals' offense, McPherson's fantasy prospects look improved for 2024.

  • Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey: Back in camp Thursday

Aubrey (personal) rejoined the Cowboys on Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

The kicker was away from training camp this week due to the birth of his first child, but he's now ready to resume preparing for the regular season. Aubrey led the NFL with 157 points as a rookie last season and figures to challenge for that crown again in 2024.

  • Commanders' Riley Patterson: Last one standing

Patterson is the only kicker on the Commanders' roster now after the team cut Ramiz Ahmed on Wednesday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Patterson hasn't won the job yet, as head coach Dan Quinn stated that he still considers it an open competition. The goal in letting go of Ahmed was to give the Memphis product all the reps this week. The 24-year-old will likely see new competition on board next week.

  • Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey: Away from team

Aubrey has yet to rejoin the Cowboys at training camp following the birth of his first child, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The kicker played in Sunday's preseason game against the Rams, converting four of five field-goal attempts with his only miss coming from 65 yards out, but he immediately jumped on a plane afterward to be with his wife. Aubrey is coming off a record-setting rookie season in which he led the NFL in made field goals with 36 and points with 157, and he should again be one of the most productive kicking options in the league in 2024 with a Dak Prescott-led offense at his back.

  • Tanner Brown K | ATL

Tanner Brown: Let go by Rams

The Rams waived Brown on Tuesday.

Brown didn't attempt a field goal in Sunday's preseason game against the Cowboys, while Joshua Karty made both of his field-goal attempts and converted his lone extra-point attempt. Should he clear waivers, Brown will look to catch onto a team in need of a kicker. He converted 22 of 23 field-goal attempts and converted all 42 of his extra-point attempts in his final collegiate season with Stanford in 2022.

  • Ramiz Ahmed K | WAS

Ramiz Ahmed: Let go by Washington

The Commanders waived Ahmed on Tuesday.

Ahmed signed with the Commanders back in June and spent time competing with Riley Patterson at placekicker in training camp, but he's now been cut to make room for veteran wideout Martavis Bryant. The last time Ahmed logged NFL action was 2022, when he played one game with the Packers.

  • Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Rare miss in preseason opener

McLaughlin made a 35-yard field goal and misfired on a 51-yard attempt while also making both of his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night.

McLaughlin posted a career-best 93.5 percent success rate on field goals during the 2023 regular season and went 7-for-8 on attempts from 50-plus yards, so Saturday's miss was an outlier with respect to his time on the Buccaneers. The veteran placekicker's job is completely secure heading into the 2024 season, and McLaughlin should have a chance to continue working out the kinks over the final two preseason contests.

  • Joshua Karty K | ARI

Rams' Joshua Karty: Perfect start to preseason

Karty connected on both of his field-goal attempts and converted his lone extra-point attempt during Sunday's 13-12 win against the Cowboys.

The sixth-round rookie out of Stanford looks likely to win the competition for starting kicker over Tanner Brown, as he nailed field goals from 28 and 39 yards out before hitting a game-winning PAT. After a 2023 season where Lucas Havrisik and Brett Maher missed a total of 11 field-goal attempts between them, the stability that the sure-footed Karty offers (51 of 60 on field goals and 72 of 73 on PATs over three collegiate seasons) will be appreciated by a Rams' fan base that was spoiled with Matt Gay's excellence at the role (74 of 80 on field goals) from 2020 to 2022.

  • Younghoe Koo K | NYG

Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Sports leg sleeve at practice

Koo sported a sleeve on his kicking leg during Monday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Koo made both of his attempts during Atlanta's preseason opener, including a 53-yarder in the third quarter. The reasoning behind the leg sleeve remains unclear, but Ledbetter noted that Koo missed a 51-yard attempt during Monday's practice. Koo hasn't missed a game over the past three seasons.

  • Greg Joseph K | LV

Packers' Greg Joseph: Continues making kicks

Joseph made a 35-yard field goal and an extra point in Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns.

Joseph is competing with Anders Carlson for the placekicking job in Green Bay, and he did nothing to damage his chances Saturday, making both kicks he attempted. Joseph has been a bit more accurate than his counterpart during training camp, but Carlson was drafted by the Packers in 2023 and made all his kicks Saturday after entering the game first; therefore, Joseph still has some work to do.
