Matt Gay K | SF
Colts' Matt Gay: Perfect in loss
Gay converted both of his two field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-27 loss versus New Orleans.
Gay remained effective in Week 8, drilling all the kicks he was called on for versus the Saints. He's up to an 87.5 percent conversion rate on field-goal tries on the season, and he's still perfect on extra-point attempts in 2023. In Week 9, the Colts will travel to take on an unexceptional Carolina defense.

James McCourt K | LV
Raiders' James McCourt: Could kick for Vegas on Monday
The Raiders elevated McCourt from their practice squad prior to Monday's game against the Lions, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The decision to elevate McCourt would seem to hint that the Raiders may have some doubt about the availability of kicker Daniel Carlson (groin), who is listed as questionable ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. The Raiders will release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to that point, which will shed light on whether Carlson will suit up. If Carlson is sidelined for the Week 9 contest, McCourt would be on track to make his NFL debut. During his collegiate career at Illinois, McCourt converted 37 of 52 field-goal attempts (71.2 percent).

Lucas Havrisik K | GB
Rams' Lucas Havrisik: Makes both field-goal tries
Havrisik connected on both of his field-goal attempts during Sunday's 43-20 loss to the Cowboys.
So far, so good for the newly minted Rams kicker, who made field goals from 33 and 47 yards during the contest. Havrisik, who replaced Brett Maher after the Rams released him on Tuesday, never got to attempt a PAT as the Rams went for two after both of their touchdowns, but coach Sean McVay will likely stand pat with the former Arizona Wildcat for Los Angeles' Week 9 contest with Green Bay.

Greg Joseph K | LV
Vikings' Greg Joseph: Struggles continue at Green Bay
Joseph converted one of his three field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-10 win at the Packers.
Joseph failed to convert on two kicks for the third straight game in Week 8. In his defense, one of his field-goal attempts was blocked Sunday, and conditions were unfavorable for special-teams operations as they tend to be in late October in Green Bay. Either way, down the stretch, Minnesota will justifiably expect him to make kicks at a better rate than he has over the last few weeks.

Harrison Butker K | KC
Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Busy as offense struggles
Butker converted all three of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 24-9 loss at Denver.
He did not record an extra-point try in Week 8, the first time that's happened since 2021. Butker still salvaged his fantasy day, though, and he cashed in on a 56-yarder at the end of the first half to reward managers whose leagues put a premium on longer attempts. The Chiefs will take on a middling Dolphins defense in Frankfurt in Week 9.

Chad Ryland K | ARI
Patriots' Chad Ryland: Mostly quiet as offense sputters
Ryland converted his only field-goal attempt and both of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-17 loss at Miami.
Ryland did all he could in Week 8, but with New England only managing to accumulate 218 total yards of offense on the day, that just didn't amount to much. For his part, he has looked solid on short kicks and shaky on longer ones through eight games in 2023. The Patriots should have an easier time moving the ball in Week 9 when they host a Washington defense that's allowed 28.5 points per game this season.
-
Joey Slye K | TEN
Commanders' Joey Slye: Breaks franchise record Sunday
Slye converted his only field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-31 loss versus Philadelphia.
On an otherwise uneventful day for Slye, he got a chance to break Washington's franchise record for its longest field goal at the end of the first half, and he booted a 61-yarder between the uprights to put the Commanders up 17-10 over their division rival at the break. It's the third straight game in which Slye has only been called on for one field-goal attempt, though, and things aren't getting much easier for Washington, which will have to travel to a hostile environment in New England for Week 9.

Evan McPherson K | CIN
Bengals' Evan McPherson: Struggling some from long range
McPherson converted one of his two field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-17 win at San Francisco.
McPherson missed his first field-goal try of the day from 50 yards out in the middle of the second quarter, failing to help Cincinnati expand on a 14-7 lead. Later though, he partially made up for the missed chance by connecting on a 56-yarder early in the third quarter to extend the Bengals' lead to 17-10. In all, he has made just four of his seven field-goal attempts from 50-plus yards out in 2023, a far cry from the 87.5 percent conversion rate he managed from that range his first two years in the league. He's still been generally effective overall though, and he projects as a fine fantasy option in Week 9 when Cincinnati hosts Buffalo.
-
Jason Myers K | SEA
Seahawks' Jason Myers: Knocks home four kicks
Myers connected on a 32-yard field goal and all three extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Browns.
Myers has now hit 14 of 18 field-goal attempts (78 percent) and all 16 extra-point tries this season. He has struggled a bit from distance, connecting on four of seven tries from beyond 40 yards. The Seahawks will be on the road in Baltimore in Week 9.

Brandon McManus K | GB
Jaguars' Brandon McManus: Delivers from distance
McManus made all four of his field-goal attempts and did not attempt an extra point during Sunday's 20-10 win versus the Steelers.
Jacksonville's offense struggled to finish its drives Sunday in Pittsburgh, but McManus came through with field goals from 51, 50, 38 and 37 yards out to build a lead. The 32-year-old is 18-for-18 on PATs and 17-for-19 on field goals this season, with 12 of those made field goals coming in the past five games.
