  • Jake Moody K | WAS

49ers' Jake Moody: Perfect in pro debut

Moody went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on point-after tries in a 30-7 win over the Steelers on Sunday.

Moody had a tumultuous preseason that started with two missed field-goal attempts and ended with a quadriceps strain that put his roster spot in jeopardy. The Michigan product not only overcame his health matter, but he also put any concerns regarding his psyche to rest with a perfect kicking day to open the regular season. San Francisco's star-studded offense looked as good as advertised after one game, making Moody a desirable fantasy option heading into next week's tilt against the Rams.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

Giants' Graham Gano: Injury update likely Wednesday

Gano, who suffered a calf injury in Sunday night's Week 1 loss to the Cowboys, will have his status updated Wednesday per head coach Brian Daboll, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.

Gano suffered the injury on the blocked field goal in the first quarter of the contest but remained in the game and subsequently missed a 36-yard try before halftime. The veteran kicker underwent X-rays after the game, but details of those results will be held back for now. His status for Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Cardinals should gain further clarity with Wednesday's expected update.

  • Jake Elliott K | PHI

Eagles' Jake Elliott: Good day from long range

Elliott went converted all four of his field-goal attempts but missed one of his two extra points in Sunday's 25-20 win over the Patriots.

The Eagles had one of the top offenses in the league last season, but they were so efficient at getting into the end zone that their kicker wasn't a particularly strong fantasy option. Only once all year did Elliott attempt more than two field goals in a game. If Week 1 is any indication, that won't necessarily be the case this year. Elliott did his job to help secure victory in a game in which the offense wasn't firing on all cylinders, making second-half kicks from 56, 48 and 51 yards.

  • Matt Prater K | BUF

Cardinals' Matt Prater: Perfect in season opener

Prater made all three field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 20-16 loss at Washington.

The highlight of Prater's perfect opener was a 54-yarder early in the second quarter that cut the Commanders' lead to 7-6. Arizona isn't likely to be an offensive juggernaut this season -- especially not as long as Kyler Murray remains sidelined by an injury -- so Prater remains an average-at-best fantasy option until the Cardinals' signal-caller returns to action. With that said, Prater is set for a weather-neutral home environment in Week 2 against a Giants team that ceded two field-goal attempts and five extra-point tries Sunday versus Dallas.

  • Joey Slye K | TEN

Commanders' Joey Slye: Accurate in victory

Slye converted both his two field-goal attempts and both his extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-16 win over Arizona.

Slye did everything Washington asked of him in Week 1 and got off to a perfect start to the 2023 season after winning the starting job in August. In Week 2, the Commanders will travel to the Mile High City to take on Denver, a good kicking environment historically. The bad news for Slye is the Commanders will be coming in as underdogs to face a defense that allowed just 17 points in Week 1.

  • Blake Grupe K | IND

Saints' Blake Grupe: Perfect in debut

Grupe made all three of his field-goal tries and his only extra-point attempt in a 16-15 victory over the Titans on Sunday.

Grupe's debut was a success, and his accuracy was ultimately crucial in the team's one-point victory. The Notre Dame product won the team's kicker job as an undrafted free agent and didn't disappoint Sunday. He hit field goals from 26 and 33 yards out before drilling a 52-yarder to tie the game at 9-9 in the third quarter. He'll look to stay perfect in a Week 2 Monday night matchup against the Panthers.

  • Greg Joseph K | LV

Vikings' Greg Joseph: Solid in low-scoring affair

Joseph made his only field-goal attempt and both of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-17 loss versus Tampa Bay.

In a Week 1 game that saw Kirk Cousins and the Vikings offense turn the ball over three times and struggle throughout, Joseph didn't see many opportunities to score. His lone field-goal attempt came in the second quarter from 25 yards out, and he remained perfect from under 30 yards (23-for-23) on his career. Minnesota has a tough matchup on tap in Week 2 when it plays at Philadelphia on a short week Thursday.

  • Matt Gay K | SF

Colts' Matt Gay: Doesn't attempt field goal

Gay converted all three of his extra-point tries but did not attempt a field goal in Sunday's 31-21 loss versus Jacksonville.

Watching Indianapolis turn the ball over on downs three separate times in Jaguars territory in Week 1 was probably frustrating for Gay and fantasy managers alike. However, Gay did make good on the opportunities he saw and has now missed just two of his last 100 extra-point tries. In Week 2, Gay will again get to kick in a dome when the Colts visit a Houston team that ceded just one field-goal attempt to Baltimore and Justin Tucker on Sunday.

  • Bengals' Evan McPherson: Quiet day in blowout loss

McPherson made one of his two field-goal attempts in Sunday's 24-3 loss at Cleveland.

McPherson converted on a 42-yard field goal on Cincinnati's first drive of the second half to cut the Browns' lead to 10-3, but he saw only one more opportunity to kick the ball after that. On the Bengals' next possession, he pushed a 51-yard attempt wide to the right. Joe Burrow and company being stifled almost entirely is probably an aberration, and McPherson's miss was just the third of his career from 50-plus after 17 attempts. If nothing else, Cincinnati's offense seems like a good bet to improve on its Week 1 point total in Week 2 versus Baltimore.

  • Chad Ryland K | ARI

Patriots' Chad Ryland: Two points in opener

Ryland made both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's season-opening 25-20 loss to the Eagles.

With Nick Folk having been traded to the Titans at the end of August, Ryland is entrenched as the Patriots' kicker this season and will thus have plenty of weeks where he'll be called upon more. The 2023 fourth-rounder's next chance to log a field-goal attempt will arrive this coming weekend when the Patriots host the Dolphins.
