Matt Prater K | BUF
Cardinals' Matt Prater: Ruled out for Week 6
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury ruled Prater (hip) out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Prater will miss his second straight game due to the sore right hip, which kept him from practicing in any fashion Wednesday and Thursday. Even though he missed a game-tying kick late in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's three-point loss to the Eagles, Matt Ammendola is expected to be elevated from the practice squad for the second week in a row to handle kicking duties in Prater's stead.

Joey Slye K | TEN
Commanders' Joey Slye: Makes two field goals in win
Slye went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts in Thursday's win over the Bears.
Slye made a 38-yard field-goal on the Commanders' final possession before halftime and later made a chip shot 28-yard attempt in the fourth quarter. The kicker's final try in the contest was no-good from 48. Slye is now 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts this season while converting six out of seven PATs.

Cade York K | NYJ
Browns' Cade York: Has support of staff
Browns special teams coach Mike Priefer believes York will be "fine" after the rookie placekicker missed two field goals in Week 5's 30-28 loss to the Chargers, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "He's in a good place mentally, he kicked the ball really well [Wednesday], he's never really lost his confidence. He's just as disappointed as any one of us, as any one of our fans," Priefer said.
Priefer and head coach Kevin Stefanski lived through a similar situation in 2018 with the Vikings, who had drafted Daniel Carlson in the fifth round (167th overall). Carlson missed three kicks in a game, including two in overtime, and was released after just two games. Carlson has since become a steady-footed kicker for the Raiders and led the league in points and field goals made last season. York will get a longer leash as a result of the coaches' experience with Carlson. "We did not handle that situation very well. We did not help Daniel mentally. He was probably not as strong as Cade at that age. I know he is now, he's doing a great job, he's a great kicker," the coach explained. York and the Browns host the Patriots in Week 6.

Cairo Santos K | CHI
Bears' Cairo Santos: One point in defeat
Santos converted his only extra-point attempt in the Bears' 12-7 loss to the Commanders on Thursday.
After a pair of 10-point games, Santos' production came to an abrupt halt. Despite the double-digit upside he's shown, kicking for a low-volume offense ensures that there will be the occasional poor fantasy performance, making Santos a volatile fantasy option.

Harrison Butker K | KC
Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Practices fully, should play Sunday
Butker (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.
Butker has been sidelined since spraining his ankle Week 1, but he practiced without limitations Thursday and should be good to go for Sunday's game versus the Bills. Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub also said that he expects Butker to play this weekend barring any setbacks, per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com.

Dustin Hopkins K | CLE
Chargers' Dustin Hopkins: Limited Thursday
Hopkins (quadriceps) was listed as a limited participant on the Chargers' injury report Thursday.
Hopkins was limited during the Chargers' first practice of Week 6 after sitting out his first game of the season due to a quad injury Sunday. As a result, Taylor Bertolet was activated to Los Angeles' active roster for the contest against Cleveland before reverting back to the practice squad. Hopkins converted five of his six field-goal attempts and all 11 of his PATs over the first four games of the season, and he'll have two more practices to increase his activity before Monday's game against Denver.

Jake Elliott K | PHI
Eagles' Jake Elliott: Limited again Thursday
Elliott (right ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.
Following a DNP this past Sunday at Arizona due to a right ankle injury, Elliott has been able to kick this week, albeit with a cap on his reps. Still, he converted a number of field-goal attempts in the 40-yard range and also kicked off using a tee at Thursday's session, according to Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer. It's unclear if Elliott is in line to play Sunday against the Cowboys, but if he doesn't, he'll hand over placekicking duties to practice-squad member Cameron Dicker for a second consecutive contest.

Jake Elliott K | PHI
Eagles' Jake Elliott: Kicking for second straight day
Elliott (ankle), who was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, was spotted kicking Thursday during the media-access portion of Thursday's session, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Tolentino notes that Elliott was converting field-goal attempts from about 40 yards out with relative ease, but it's not yet clear if the kicker is fully comfortable from longer distances or on kickoffs while he manages the right ankle injury. It's unclear if Elliott did enough for the Eagles to list him as a full participant Thursday, but the 27-year-old looks to be in a good spot to gain clearance to return to the lineup Sunday against the Cowboys. If the injury forces Elliott to miss a second straight game, however, the Eagles will likely elevate Cameron Dicker from the practice squad to handle kicking duties.

Harrison Butker K | KC
Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Should return Sunday
Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub said Thursday that Butker (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Bills if the kicker avoids any setbacks in practice over the next two days, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Butker hasn't played since spraining his left ankle Week 1, but he appears to be on the verge of a return. Per Nate Taylor of The Athletic, Butker was spotted Thursday doing his usual three-step routine on field goals, suggesting the injury isn't affecting how he approaches his kicks.

Harrison Butker K | KC
Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Logs limited practice Wednesday
Butker (ankle) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game versus Buffalo, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Butker hasn't played since he sprained his ankle Week 1, but his participation in practice Wednesday suggests he's nearing a return to the field. If the Chiefs decide to err on the side of caution and hold Butker out for Sunday's game, Matthew Wright would be slated to handle kicking duties in Butker's stead.
