J.J. McCarthy QB | MIN
Vikings' J.J. McCarthy: Limited due to hand injury
McCarthy (right hand) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday.
McCarthy hit his right hand on a Baltimore defender's helmet while following through on a pass during this past Sunday's loss to the Ravens, but he didn't miss a snap and completed 20 of 42 passes for 248 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while rushing five times for 48 yards. Alec Lewis of The Athletic reported Wednesday that McCarthy has some swelling in the hand in question, but there's been no indication that he's in danger of missing Sunday's contest against the Bears.

Joe Flacco QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Flacco: Limited in practice, feeling better
Flacco (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.
Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports that Flacco didn't throw passes Wednesday but is scheduled to do so Thursday. Flacco played through the same injury before a Week 10 bye, throwing for 470 yards and four TDs in the Week 9 loss to Chicago. Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Flacco said the bye was much-needed, though his gaudy stat line suggests the shoulder injury wasn't too limiting. He's expected to make at least one or two more starts, including this Sunday against the Steelers, before a potential Joe Burrow (toe) return at the end of November or in December. The Bengals opened Burrow's 21-day practice window earlier this week.

Brock Purdy QB | SF
49ers' Brock Purdy: Practicing with intent to start Sunday
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy (toe) will be a limited but "aggressive" participant at Wednesday's practice with the intention to start Sunday's game at Arizona, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
On the heels of Purdy's eighth absence of the season this past Sunday against the Rams, Shanahan told David Lombardi of SFStandard.com on Monday that the 49ers "want three aggressive practices, and we want to hear from him and make sure he feels good after them, too." Wednesday's development indicates that Purdy isn't completely past the turf toe injury that has bothered him since Week 1, but he's at least putting himself in a position for his first game action since Week 4. Mac Jones has been filling for Purdy during his extended absence.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Giants' Russell Wilson: Set to back up Winston in Week 11
Giants interim coach Mike Kafka said Wednesday that Wilson is "going to be the backup" behind Jameis Winston during Sunday's matchup against the Packers, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports.
Wilson has been overtaken by Winston as the No. 2 quarterback in New York, but he'll get a chance to handle backup duties versus Green Bay in Week 11 with Jaxson Dart (concussion) expected to sit out the contest. Kafka said Wilson remains "a crucial part of our offense," but once Dart has returned to full health, the veteran signal-caller will likely be relegated to emergency No. 3 quarterback duties.

Davis Mills QB | HOU
Texans' Davis Mills: Prepping for another start
Mills is preparing to start Sunday's game at Tennessee with C.J. Stroud still in concussion protocol and absent from Wednesday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports.
Stroud reportedly still has concussion symptoms as of Monday/Tuesday, and his continued absence from practice suggests he's still in the early phases of concussion protocol. Mills led a brilliant comeback win over the Jaguars this past Sunday, finishing with 312 total yards and three TDs.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: May practice Thursday
Jackson missed Wednesday's practice due to knee soreness but may resume practicing as soon as Thursday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh downplayed the knee injury, telling reporters that Jackson "should be ok" and may return to practice in short order, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. A return on Thursday, even in a limited capacity, would put Jackson on track to play this Sunday against the Browns.

Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Practicing Wednesday
Burrow (toe) is participating in the early portion of Wednesday's unpadded practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Burrow threw passes in sweatpants and a helmet two days after the Bengals designated him for a return from injured reserve. The team said he'll practice in a limited capacity, with Burrow noting that he'd like to return for a Thanksgiving Day game at Baltimore on Nov. 27.

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Not practicing Wednesday
Stroud (concussion) isn't practicing Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Bien-Aime notes that Stroud still had concussion symptoms earlier this week after missing Sunday's win over the Jaguars. There are still a few days for Stroud to make progress through the concussion protocol, but early signs point to Davis Mills making another start this Sunday at Tennessee.
-
Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Not practicing Wednesday
Jackson (undisclosed) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson finished up Sunday's win over the Vikings, but Hensley notes that the star QB took some hard hits in the contest. In any case, the Ravens' upcoming practice report will reveal whether or not Jackson is dealing with an injury. It's also possible that he was tending to a personal matter or was given a rest day.

Jaxson Dart QB | NYG
Giants' Jaxson Dart: Won't start Sunday
Interim head coach Mike Kafka confirmed Wednesday that Dart (concussion) won't start Sunday's game against the Packers.
With Dart in the NFL's concussion protocol, the Giants are playing it safe with the 2025 first-rounder, which sets the stage for Jameis Winston to draw the start versus Green Bay. Per Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, Kafka noted that Dart is "right on track and right on pace" in terms of concussion protocol, which suggests that Dart could be cleared in time to get the starting nod in Week 12. If Dart is made inactive this weekend, Russell Wilson would be in line to back up Winston.
