Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Panthers' Sam Darnold: Engineers three scoring drives
Darnold completed 19 of his 25 pass attempts for 162 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Friday's preseason game against the Steelers.
As can be implied from his production, Darnold played for a significant amount of time in the team's preseason finale. He and the offense didn't have much success early on, but ultimately, Darnold managed a pair of touchdown passes that came from 13 and eight yards away. All told, Darnold led six offensive drives and played the entirety of the first half. After this lengthy warmup, Darnold should now be ready for a Week 1 matchup against his former team.

Tim Boyle QB | TEN
Lions' Tim Boyle: Thumb injury may be severe
Boyle may have suffered a serious thumb injury during Friday's preseason loss to the Colts, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. "We'll know a lot more tomorrow, but we may have to prepare for him to be out for a little bit," coach Dan Campbell said.
The Lions brought in Boyle from Green Bay to serve as Jared Goff's backup on a one-year $2.5 million contract. But his time under center during exhibition season has been anything but crisp, combining for 22-for-29 passing (56.4 percent), 135 yards and one touchdown versus no interceptions across three games. During the course of Friday's appearance, he banged his right thumb on a helmet on the third play from scrimmage, opening a cut in the process. If he indeed needs time to recover, Boyle likely will yield the No. 2 QB job to David Blough to begin the campaign.

Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Vikings' Kirk Cousins: Plays three drives
Cousins completed five of seven passes for 57 yards in Friday night's 28-25 preseason loss to the Chiefs.
Cousins once again played three drives, leading the Vikings to a field goal out of the gate before the Vikings were forced to punt twice. The signal-caller was without starting wideouts Justin Jefferson (shoulder) and Adam Thielen (thigh), and instead showed a good rapport with tight end Irv Smith, who caught both his targets for 39 yards. With the preseason now in the books, Cousins will look forward to having all his weapons available ahead of Week 1's matchup against the Bengals.

Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Throws two touchdowns
Mahomes completed eight of nine passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns in Friday night's 28-25 preseason win over the Vikings.
Mahomes was his spectacular self in limited action. He connected with Travis Kelce for 28 yards on his first throw of the night, then hit Tyreek Hill for a 35-yard touchdown on his next attempt. The Super Bowl LIV MVP followed that by finding Blake Bell for a five-yard score on his second and final drive, ending his preseason on a high note. After Friday's brief tune-up, Mahomes will now turn his attention toward the regular season, beginning with the Week 1 matchup against the Browns.

Joshua Dobbs QB | NE
Steelers' Joshua Dobbs: Picks up toe injury
Dobbs sustained a toe injury during Friday's preseason loss at Carolina, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Dobbs didn't get on the field until the Steelers' second drive of the second half, entering the game after a miserable performance from Dwayne Haskins. During his four drives, Dobbs went 6-for-11 for 35 passing yards and had a 12-yard carry before exiting and handing the offense back to Haskins. According to coach Mike Tomlin, Dobbs may have a turf toe injury, which, if diagnosed as such, could keep the fifth-year pro sidelined for some time and give Haskins a direct path to the No. 3 QB job behind Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph.

Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN
Colts' Sam Ehlinger: Injury causes concern
Coach Frank Reich said after Friday's preseason win over the Lions that Ehlinger's knee injury "didn't look good," Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.
Ehlinger suffered a knee injury near the end of the first half Friday and was ruled out for the game shortly after. The 2021 sixth-rounder will presumably be evaluated in the coming days to determine the extent of the issue, but it appears as though he could miss some time.

Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN
Colts' Sam Ehlinger: Suffers knee injury
Ehlinger has been ruled out of Friday's preseason game at Detroit due to a knee injury, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports.
After Carson Wentz underwent foot surgery in early August, Ehlinger entered into a competition with Jacob Eason to be the Colts' starting QB in Week 1 in the event Wentz remained in recovery mode. While Wentz since has progressed through his rehab quicker than expected, Ehlinger remained in the mix to be the No. 2. However, Ehlinger limped off the field at the end of the first half Friday and won't return. The Colts likely won't reveal the severity of his knee injury until postgame.

Zach Wilson QB | NO
Jets' Zach Wilson: May not play Friday
Wilson didn't take part in pregame warmups prior to Friday's preseason contest against the Eagles, indicating he won't play, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
The field conditions at MetLife Stadium aren't great following a downpour Friday afternoon, so coach Robert Saleh may be exercising caution with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Wilson thus will conclude his first exhibition season 15-for-20 passing for 191 yards and two touchdowns in two contests.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Panthers' Sam Darnold: In line to play Friday
Darnold is expected to play a half, or perhaps less if things are going well, in Friday's preseason finale against the Steelers, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Newton notes that the plan applies to Carolina's healthy first-teamers, minus Christian McCaffrey. Thus far, Darnold's preseason activity has been limited to one series last weekend against the Ravens.
-
Jared Goff QB | DET
Lions' Jared Goff: Could give way to Blough vs. Colts
Chris Burke of The Athletic projects that Goff's teammate, David Blough, will start Friday's preseason finale against the Colts.
Per Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site, one thing to watch Friday will be how Blough and Tim Boyle, who have been battling for the team's No. 2 QB job, fare in the contest. Goff is locked in as the Detroit's starting signal caller ahead of Week 1 action.
