  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

    Chargers' Tyrod Taylor: Unavailable Sunday

Taylor (chest) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Taylor injured his chest following pregame warmups Sunday, which resulted in rookie Justin Herbert getting a surprise start at QB for the Chargers. Taylor's status will need to be monitored in advance of next week's game against the Panthers, but either way, a strong effort by Herbert on Sunday could lead to a quicker than anticipated ascension to the top of the team's depth chart for the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Spectacular in Week 2 win

Allen completed 24 of 35 passes for 417 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 31-28 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 18 yards.

Allen ended up having to do plenty in a game that the Bills were fairly solid favorites in, averaging 11.9 yards per attempt while connecting with eight different pass catchers on the afternoon. The third-year signal caller hit the eclectic quartet of Stefon Diggs, John Brown, Gabriel Davis and Reggie Gilliam for his scoring throws, the final one a 46-yarder to Brown to give Buffalo critical separation with 3:09 remaining. Perhaps almost as encouraging for the Bills' coaching staff was Allen's mistake-free effort, as well as his burgeoning connection with Diggs, whom he targeted a team-high 13 times on the way to an 8-153-1 day for the wideout. Allen will look to build on this landmark effort when the Bills battle the Los Angeles Rams in a Week 3 home matchup.

  • Jaguars' Gardner Minshew: Comeback falls short

Minshew completed 30 of 45 passes for 339 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions and had four carries for 19 yards during Sunday's 33-30 loss to Tennessee.

The 24-year-old was near perfect in the season-opening win against the Colts and found plenty of success through the air versus the Titans, though he did have the two giveaways Sunday. Minshew threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to overcome a 13-point deficit, but Tennessee kicked a late field goal to take a late lead and Minshew subsequently threw a fourth-down interception with less than a minute left. He's completed 49 of his 65 pass attempts for 512 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions through his first two games of the season. He has a Thursday night matchup with the Dolphins in Week 3.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Broncos' Drew Lock: Will have tests on shoulder

Lock will undergo tests on his right (throwing) shoulder Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Though Lock sported a sling when he addressed the media after Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Steelers, the QB said he'll take "it day-by-day," adding that he's "optimistic about it," Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site notes. That said, the Broncos figure to proceed cautiously here, and unless Lock's issue is deemed very minor, the stage is set for Jeff Driskel to start next Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

  • Lions' Matthew Stafford: Slows down after hot start

Stafford completed 20 of 33 passes for 244 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 42-21 loss to the Packers. He added one carry for four yards,

Stafford's four-yard touchdown to Marvin Jones put Detroit up 14-3 late in the first quarter, but it was all Packers from there. Green Bay's subsequent 31-0 run included a pick-six that Stafford threw from his own end zone, but the veteran quarterback finally halted the Packers' scoring streak with a 24-yard touchdown to Marvin Hall early in the fourth quarter. Stafford will bring a 3:2 TD:INT into a Week 3 trip to Arizona.

  • Panthers' Teddy Bridgewater: Prolific numbers in losing effort

Bridgewater completed 33 of 42 passes for 367 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the Panthers' 31-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

A game script that saw the Panthers down by 21-0 by halftime worked in favor of Bridgewater's fantasy managers, as it required the veteran quarterback to constantly put the ball up in the second half. Bridgewater unsurprisingly made a couple of errors with that level of volume, and considering he was under constant duress while getting sacked five times. Despite the high number of completions, however, Bridgewater only completed passes to three wideouts overall -- D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel -- with all but two of of his other connections transpiring with running backs Mike Davis and Christian McCaffrey. Through two games, Bridgewater has rewarded managers with a whopping 637 passing yards, but that's been accompanied by a pedestrian one touchdown versus two interceptions. Bridgewater will look to helm a more balanced offense in a Week 3 road interconference battle against the Chargers.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Two TDs in comeback win

Rodgers completed 18 of 30 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns while adding two carries for 12 yards in Sunday's 42-21 win over the Lions.

Rodgers helped his team dig out of a 14-3 hole with a seven-yard touchdown to Aaron Jones followed by an 11-yard score to Robert Tonyan to take a 17-14 lead into halftime, then Jones and the defense took over in the second half. With Green Bay dominating on the ground, Rodgers' numbers took a step back after he threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener. The veteran quarterback's week-to-week contributions will vary due to Green Bay's reliance on the ground game, but he's at the helm of an offense that's averaging 42.5 points per game. Up next is a Week 3 trip to New Orleans for a heavyweight battle on Sunday Night Football, and Rodgers could be without top receiver Davante Adams, who exited early with a hamstring injury.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Another multi-touchdown performance

Trubisky completed 18 of 28 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns along with two interceptions in Chicago's 17-13 victory over the Giants on Sunday.

Trubisky was productive in the first half, throwing for over 75% of his total yardage and both touchdown strikes despite his typical inclination to fire ill-advised passes at times, but after the intermission, he threw for fewer than 50 yards and a pair of interceptions, nearly costing the Bears a victory. Regardless, he's thrown for multiple touchdowns in each game to start the season, and he has excellent matchups against Atlanta, Indianapolis and Carolina over the next four weeks, which may allow him to function as a top-24 quarterback during that time.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

Chargers' Tyrod Taylor: Suffers chest injury after warmups

Taylor injured his chest after pregame warmups Sunday, leading to Justin Herbert starting the Chargers' Week 2 contest against the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Herbert's surprise start thus has a logical explanation, while it's not clear if Taylor will be called upon to enter the game, given that the Chargers have deemed his return questionable.

  • Justin Herbert QB | LAC

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Surprise Week 2 starter

Herbert started Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Tom Krasovic of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

This surprising development is the result of Tyrod Taylor being listed as questionable by the Chargers with a chest injury. It remains to be seen if Taylor is able to enter the game at any point, but Herbert -- the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft -- will have a chance to helm his team's offense in the meantime.
