  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Rams' Jared Goff: Tosses three TDs

Goff completed 20 of 27 pass attempts for 267 yards and three touchdowns, adding seven carries for 13 yards in the Rams' 37-19 win over the Eagles on Sunday.

Despite throwing only 27 times, Goff was highly efficient and tossed three touchdowns (all to Tyler Higbee) with no turnovers in the comfortable victory. Through two games, Goff has totaled just 58 pass attempts after leading the NFL with 626 attempts in 2019. Instead, the Rams have opted for a more run-heavy approach, putting the ball in Goff's hands less. He's still got some streaming appeal in favorable matchups, but he's not a weekly must-start option due to the lack of volume and focus on the ground game.

  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Has high-ankle sprain

Garoppolo picked up a high right ankle sprain during Sunday's 31-13 road win against the Jets, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Prior to getting hurt near the end of the first half, Garoppolo completed 14 of 16 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. In the aftermath of the game, coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers won't make a decision on Garoppolo's status for next Sunday's game versus the Giants until the end of the week. Considering high-ankle sprains typically require time on the sidelines, Nick Mullens may be poised for his first start since the 2018 campaign.

  • Nick Mullens QB | JAC

49ers' Nick Mullens: Plays half after Jimmy G injury

Mullens completed eight of 11 passes for 71 yards and an interception after replacing the injured Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) at halftime of Sunday's 31-13 win over the Jets. He also recorded two rushing attempts for minus-2 yards.

Garoppolo was limping throughout the first half and San Francisco didn't need to take any chances with the starting quarterback after taking a 21-3 lead into the break, so Mullens got the call after halftime. The 25-year-old backup spent most of his time turning around and handing the ball off, leading one touchdown drive. If Garoppolo can't play against the Giants in Week 3, San Francisco would likely rely on the ground game while using Mullens in a game manager role.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Tough loss to Bears

Jones completed 25 of 40 passes for 241 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bears. He also gained 21 yards on three carries.

Jones was strip-sacked on the opening drive, went three-and-out on the following drive and threw a pick on the Giants' third possession. New York entered the locker room scoreless at halftime, with Jones posting just 73 passing yards. He started to get rolling toward the end of the third quarter and nearly salvaged the otherwise ugly showing with a last-second TD drive, but Golden Tate was called for offensive pass interference in the end zone, marking the end of the game. It was an unfortunate outing after the second-year QB showed some promise in Week 1 against the Steelers. However, the bigger storyline may be RB Saquon Barkley potentially tearing his ACL in the first half Sunday. If that's the case, Jones will carry a heavy burden in Week 3 against the 49ers.

  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Exits game with ankle injury

Garoppolo (right ankle) won't return to Sunday's game against the Jets, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Garoppolo had completed 14 of his 16 pass attempts for 131 yards and two TDs. Nick Mullens is now in at QB for the 49ers.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Broncos' Drew Lock: Won't return to game

Lock (right shoulder) won't return to Sunday's game against the Steelers.

With Lock dealing with an issue involving his throwing shoulder, Jeff Driskel is in line to finish up Sunday's game at quarterback for the Broncos.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Broncos' Drew Lock: Exits with shoulder injury

Lock was forced out of Sunday's game versus the Steelers with a shoulder injury, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Lock was sacked by Bud Dupree in the first quarter and immediately went to the medical tent. He's considered questionable to return, and for the time being, Jeff Driskel will be under center for the Broncos.

  • Buccaneers' Blaine Gabbert: No. 2 quarterback behind Tom Brady

Gabbert is not among Tampa Bay's inactive players for Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, per the Buccaneers' official Twitter account.

With Ryan Griffin among the Buccaneers' list of inactives for Week 2, Gabbert is expected to serve as the emergency option at quarterback. The No. 10 overall draft choice from 2011 will be thrust into game action should Tom Brady suffer an injury.

  • Nate Sudfeld QB | SF

Eagles' Nate Sudfeld: Inactive Week 2

Sudfeld (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Rams.

The nature of the Eagles' decision is not yet known, but either rookie Jalen Hurts has vaulted Sudfeld for the No. 2 QB role, or the former will take the field Sunday for particular sub packages. In any case, Sudfeld won't get a chance to see the field Week 2.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Deemed active Week 2

Hurts is listed as active Sunday against the Rams.

Just one game removed from opening his pro career as a healthy scratch, Hurts will serve as the No. 2 quarterback to Carson Wentz, Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports. The 2020 second-round pick will swap in for Nate Sudfeld, but it remains to be seen if Hurts will make any sort of impact or merely has surpassed Sudfeld for the backup gig.
