  • Trace McSorley QB | WAS

Ravens' Trace McSorley: Minimal action as rookie

McSorley appeared in one game as a rookie, taking one carry for one yard.

Veteran Robert Griffin was entrenched as the backup quarterback, leaving little room for McSorley to even be active most weeks. McSorley had a chance to see some action in the season finale against Pittsburgh when Lamar Jackson was inactive, but he only played one snap. With Robert Griffin under contract for another season, McSorley has his work cut out for him in terms of remaining on the 53-man roster, especially if Baltimore opts to carry just two quarterbacks.

  • Nate Sudfeld QB | SF

Eagles' Nate Sudfeld: Doesn't play in 2019

Sudfeld wasn't active for any of the Eagles' 16 games in the 2019 season.

The Eagles clearly think highly of Sudfeld's potential, as they paid him $3.1 million in 2019 to serve as the No. 3 quarterback behind Carson Wentz (head) and Josh McCown (hamstring). If McCown doesn't return for another season -- the 40-year-old suffered a torn hamstring in the postseason -- Sudfeld could become Wentz's primary backup in 2020 should he be re-signed. Sudfeld is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March.

  • Tim Boyle QB | TEN

Packers' Tim Boyle: Throws first NFL passes in 2019

Boyle played in three games in 2019, completing three of four passes for 15 yards.

The Packers like what they saw out of the 25-year-old signal caller during training camp enough that they cut former second-round pick Deshone Kizer to make Boyle the backup to Aaron Rodgers. Boyle took a few knees in blowout games and threw his first NFL passes in a blowout loss to the 49ers in Week 12, but he otherwise stayed on the sidelines while Rodgers stayed healthy. Boyle has another year under contract with the Packers, but there's no guarantee that they keep him around in 2020, especially if they try to bring in Rodgers' successor through the draft.

  • Case Keenum QB | CHI

Redskins' Case Keenum: Planning to leave Washington

Keenum doesn't expect to re-sign with Washington, Ethan Cadeaux of NBC Sports Washington reports.

New head coach Ron Rivera did say Dwayne Haskins (ankle) will have to earn the starting job, but that doesn't necessarily mean Rivera views someone like Keenum or Colt McCoy as a viable alternative. For what it's worth, Keenum went out of his way to compliment Haskins, noting that the 22-year-old showed enough improvement late in the season to keep the job heading into 2020. As for his own career prospects, Keenum hopes to find another opportunity to compete for a starting role. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent March 18 at the beginning of the new league year, one month after his 32nd birthday.

  • Logan Woodside QB | ARI

Titans' Logan Woodside: Inks reserve/future deal

Woodside (undisclosed) signed a reserve/future contract with the Titans on Monday.

Woodside spent time on Tennessee's practice squad during the 2019 season, though he was placed on the unit's injured list early September due to an undisclosed issue. The 2018 seventh-round pick is a developmental project, and he'll remain with the Titans to start the offseason.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Likely headed for contract talks

Coach Mike Vrabel declined to comment on Tannehill's future with the Titans, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports.

The Titans have an interesting offseason ahead, with Tannehill, Marcus Mariota and Derrick Henry all scheduled to become unrestricted free agents, not to mention starting cornerback Logan Ryan and right tackle Jack Conklin. The team has plenty of cap space to retain Tannehill and Henry, at the very least, potentially using its franchise tag on one of the two. Vrabel didn't discuss contract situations Monday afternoon at his end-of-season press conference, but he did go out of his way to praise Tannehill's performance, noting how the 31-year-old quarterback led Tennessee to the AFC Championship Game and earned a Pro Bowl nod in the process. Common sense suggests Tannehill will get a multi-year contract or the franchise tag, while Mariota figures to hit the open market and may have to settle for a backup job, be it in Tennessee or elsewhere.

  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Barely used in victory

Garoppolo completed six of eight pass attempts for 77 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's 37-20 NFC Championship Game win over the Packers.

Garoppolo was essentially a hand-off machine for Raheem Mostert (29 carries for 220 yards and four touchdowns) in a contest that the 49ers led big from start to finish. The 28-year-old came through on a couple of crucial third-down conversions when asked to, but coach Kyle Shanahan clearly had a run-first gameplan instilled from the get go. San Francisco may not have the luxury of running the ball as frequently as it has in its first two playoff victories in two weeks, as its upcoming opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs, was able to put up big passing numbers on a stout Tennessee defense in the AFC Championship Game. Garoppolo has responded well when asked to engage in a shootout with an opposing gunslinger this season, so there is a chance we see Jimmy G unleashed in the Super Bowl if the game script calls for it.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Racks up numbers in loss

Rodgers completed 31 of 39 passes for 326 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions during the Packers' 37-20 loss to the 49ers in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. He also netted zero yards on his sole rush and committed three fumbles, losing one.

Rodgers' final numbers were more than acceptable from a fantasy perspective, but they were largely the byproduct of a game script that called for the Packers to consistently put the ball up throughout the second half in response to a 27-0 halftime deficit. The 36-year-old signal caller made do with the thin receiving corps he was saddled with this past regular season, one that had no consistently viable second option behind Adams. Despite the disappointing conclusion to the season and personnel-related shortcomings, Rodgers generated a stellar 26:4 TD:INT and just managed to eclipse the 4,000-yard mark (4,002) for the second consecutive campaign. He'll look to lead the Packers back to the postseason in 2020 while working with what should be a revamped pass-catching arsenal.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Accounts for four TDs vs. Titans

Mahomes completed 23 of 35 pass attempts for 294 yards and three touchdowns Sunday against the Titans. He also carried eight times for 53 yards and a touchdown in the 35-24 win.

Although the Tennessee defense had been rolling, it was no match for Mahomes, who averaged a healthy 8.4 yards per attempt while completing 66 percent of his passes. He connected with Tyreek Hill for two touchdowns and added a spectacular 27-yard rushing score before capping his day off with a 60-yard strike to Sammy Watkins in the fourth quarter. Mahomes has been outstanding in two playoff games this postseason, accounting for nine total touchdowns, zero turnovers and 106 rushing yards, in addition to plenty of passing yards. Both his potential Super Bowl opponents boast strong defenses, but he seems more than capable of producing regardless of who lines up across from him.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Pair of scores in loss

Tannehill completed 21 of 31 pass attempts for 209 yards and two touchdowns in Titans' 35-24 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. He added three rushes for 11 yards.

Tannehill couldn't keep pace with Patrick Mahomes, but he did throw for two touchdowns for the second consecutive game. His first came from one yard away to put the Ttians up 17-7 in the second quarter. However, he didn't follow that up with another score until late in the fourth quarter on a 22-yard strike to Anthony Firkser. The performance closed a campaign that rejuvenated Tannehill's career, as he led the Titans to a 7-3 record in the regular season prior to earning two playoff victories. He should be in line for a big payday this offseason, regardless of whether that comes in the form of the franchise tag or a long-term deal.
