Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Cleared for limited practice
Darnold (illness) will return to practice Wednesday and increase his cardio activity, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Although he hasn't been cleared for contact, Darnold is taking a major step forward as he works his way back from mononucleosis, an illness that often causes fatigue even after other symptoms have diminished. Per Hughes coach Adam Gase said the Jets could wait until early Sunday to make a final decision on Darnold's availability for their 1 p.m. EDT game in Philadelphia. The quarterback presumably will be listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report.

Gardner Minshew QB | ARI
Jaguars' Gardner Minshew: Bothered by sore knee
Minshew is dealing with a minor knee injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Mike Klis of 9News Denver notes that Minshew came up limping after he took a hard hit on the final drive of Sunday's 26-24 win over Denver. He stayed in the game to lead the Jaguars into position for a last-second field goal and was spotted with ice over his left knee after the contest. Though it sounds like Minshew escaped with a bad bruise, the injury could impact his practice participation this week.

Mason Rudolph QB | PIT
Steelers' Mason Rudolph: Nearly perfect in blowout win
Rudolph completed 24 of 28 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 27-3 win over Cincinnati.
Relying predominantly of short passes to his running backs, Rudolph led Pittsburgh to its first victory this season, avoiding what would have been only their second 0-4 start in the past 50 years. He targeted James Conner and Jaylen Samuels 16 times, completing them all for 140 yards and a touchdown. Rudolph has looked solid since replacing Ben Roethlisberger (elbow), completing 69.4 percent of his passes with a 10:2 TD:INT. He will have a difficult challenge in Week 5 against a Baltimore defense that has allowed just five passing touchdowns in the first four games this season.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Bengals' Andy Dalton: Pummeled in blowout loss
Dalton completed 21 of 37 passes for 171 yards and an interception in Monday night's 27-3 loss to the Steelers. He also was sacked eight times and lost a fumble.
Dalton had a would-be touchdown dropped on the Bengals' second offensive drive, and it all went downhill from there. Not only did he twice turn the ball over in the red zone, but he was also constantly under siege from Pittsburgh's pass rush, resulting in a career high amount of sacks taken. Considering Dalton entered Monday averaging over 325 passing yards per game, it's likely he rebounds in Week 5 against the also-winless Cardinals. However, in order to do so, he'll need far improved protection from his linemen up front, and still won't have top wideout A.J. Green (ankle) at his service.

Kyle Allen QB | BUF
Panthers' Kyle Allen: Will garner Week 5 start
Coach Ron Rivera confirmed Monday that Allen would remain the starting quarterback for the Panthers' Week 5 matchup with the Jaguars, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
After an impressive four-touchdown outing Week 3 in Arizona in place of the injured Cam Newton (foot), Allen wasn't quite as effective in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Texans. Though he completed more than 70 percent of his passes, Allen lost three fumbles and managed a more pedestrian 6.8 yards per attempt. Rivera stressed that Allen needs to do a better job of protecting the football, but the second-year signal-caller should have a decent amount of leash atop the depth chart with Newton likely to miss at least two more weeks and rookie Will Grier representing an unproven alternative under center.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Coach confirms concussion protocol
Coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that Allen is in the league's concussion protocol, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
This was expected and even confirmed by other sources Sunday night after Allen took a shot to the head during the loss to the Patriots. Typically, players have to pass every step of the protocol on schedule to play in the team's next game if it's seven days away, and in the Bills' case they take on the Titans this Sunday. Matt Barkley would take over for Allen if that doesn't happen, while it's worth mentioning the Bills have a bye following the Titans game.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Redskins' Case Keenum: Tending to foot injury
Coach Jay Gruden said Keenum was pulled early in Sunday's 24-3 loss to the Giants because the quarterback was tending to a foot injury, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Gruden didn't provide much of an update on Keenum's situation when he met with the media Monday, noting that the veteran would continue to be evaluated ahead of the Week 5 matchup with the Patriots, per Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic. Though the coach noted after Sunday's game that the injury may have contributed to the poor accuracy Keenum showed on his throws, the signal-caller entered the contest with little job security after committing five turnovers in the Week 3 loss to the Bears. Keenum's injury coupled with his poor performance in back-to-back games leaves Washington's quarterback situation truly in flux heading into the home date with New England. Gruden already has indicated that Keenum, rookie Dwayne Haskins and a healthy Colt McCoy are all under consideration for the Week 5 starting nod.

Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN
Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Unlikely to play in Week 5
A MRI revealed that Trubisky suffered a dislocated (non-throwing) left shoulder Sunday against the Vikings, along with a slight labrum tear, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Additionally, the QB doesn't need surgery and should he back "sooner rather than later," per the report. While Trubisky will travel with the Bears to London this week, he's unlikely to play Sunday against the Raiders, which sets the stage for Chase Daniel to be the team's Week 5 starter at QB.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Cleared for non-contact drills
Coach Adam Gase relayed Monday that Darnold (illness) has been cleared for non-contact drills and is ready to resume throwing, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
While that's a step in the right direction for Darnold, who has been dealing with a case of mononucleosis, Gase acknowledged that it's still a "question mark" with regard to the QB's chances of playing Sunday against the Eagles. Per Costello, Darnold is pressing to play Week 5, but if he isn't cleared to play this weekend, Luke Falk would be in line to draw another start at QB for the Jets.

Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN
Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Unlikely to play this week
Trubisky (shoulder) is not expected to be available Week 5 against the Raiders in London, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Trubisky was forced out of Sunday's 16-6 divisional win over Minnesota due to a left shoulder injury, for which he's undergoing medical tests Monday. While a timetable for the third-year quarterback's recovery still remains unclear, it appears possible that he could be facing a multi-week absence. In any case, Chase Daniel is locked in for at least one more start versus Oakland.
