Siemian agreed to terms Wednesaday with the Jets on a one-year contract, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

The 2015 seventh-round pick will give the Jets a backup quarterback with 24 NFL starts under his belt. Per Darryl Slater of The Newark Star-Ledger

It was reported Monday that the Vikings were working to re-sign Siemian, but he apparently still wants to check out his options in free agency. The 27-year-old did not see the field as Kirk Cousins' backup in 2018.

Head coach Mike Zimmer has noted his desire to have a veteran quarterback as the main backup to Kirk Cousins. Last season, Siemian made $1.9 million as the No. 2 signal-caller and did not log a snap all season. The Vikings also have Kyle Sloter on the roster, but his inexperience could be reason for concern.

McCoy will compete with Case Keenum for the starting quarterback job, Adam Dreyfuss of the team's official website reports.

It also is possible Washington adds a young quarterback to the mix, seeing as both Keenum and McCoy are in their early 30s and entering the final seasons of their respective contracts. The team officially hasn't ruled out Alex Smith (leg), but it seems like a long shot that he'd be ready to play any sooner than 2020. With Adrian Peterson, Derrius Guice (knee) and Chris Thompson all set to return in the backfield, coach Jay Gruden presumably hopes to build his offense around the running game, though it isn't clear his defense is good enough to keep the plan on track. Even so, it's hard to imagine a scenario in which the team's starting quarterback is a valuable asset in standard fantasy leagues. As of mid-March, the depth chart at wide receiver is led by Paul Richardson (shoulder), Josh Doctson and Trey Quinn (ankle).

The Titans informed Gabbert of his release Friday, Paul Kuharsky of 104.5 The Zone Nashville reports.

Gabbert won two of his three starts in 2018, but he managed just 6.2 yards per pass attempt and had four interceptions on 101 throws. His fate with the Titans was sealed once the team agreed to a trade for Ryan Tannehill, who now slots in as the No. 2 quarterback behind Marcus Mariota. The 29-year-old Gabbert should find another opportunity to compete for a backup job soon enough.

The Titans are trading for Ryan Tannehill, who could challenge Mariota (neck) for playing time if the 25-year-old struggles in 2019, Erik Bacharach of The Nashville Tennessean reports.

Mariota should still be locked in as the Week 1 starter, but he'll feel a bit more pressure than he did in 2018 when Blaine Gabbert was the No. 2 quarterback. It makes sense for the Titans to invest in a high-end backup, considering their starter has yet to play a 16-game season through four years in the NFL. The team has also made an honest effort to improve the talent around Mariota, signing guard Rodger Saffold and slot receiver Adam Humphries earlier this week. Working his way back from a season-ending neck injury, Mariota is expected to be ready for the start of the offseason program in April, at which point he'll work with new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. The Titans plan to retain the playbook terminology they used under Matt LaFleur in 2018.

The Dolphins traded Tannehill to the Titans on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Tannehill gives Tennessee a high-end backup for Marcus Mariota, who has yet to play a 16-game season through four years in the league. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are left with Luke Falk and Jake Rudock as the only quarterbacks on their roster, having failed to lure Teddy Bridgewater away from New Orleans. It's a safe bet the Dolphins select a quarterback at some point in the upcoming draft, and they also figure to take a look at veterans such as Ryan Fitzpatrick and Blake Bortles. As part of the trade, Tannehill agreed to reduce his 2019 compensation to $7 million, with the potential to go up to around $12 million if he reaches certain incentives, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Given Mariota's inconsistent play and injury woes, it isn't too hard to imagine a scenario in which Tannehill eventually pushes for the top job. The Titans made a couple big additions on offense earlier this week, signing guard Rodger Saffold and slot receiver Adam Humphries.

Allen has been living and working out with quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Josh Allen since January, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.

The trio of second-year quarterbacks appears to be training with former NFL quarterback and current throwing coach Jordan Palmer, throwing four days per week. While Kyle Allen is clearly the ugly duckling of the bunch, training with a pair of top-10 picks seems like a prudent way for the 2018 undrafted quarterback to spend his first professional offseason. At the very least, it further corroborates the shoulder injury he sustained in the season finale wasn't a long-term issue.

Johnson underwent surgery on his ankle, Tom Krasovic of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Johnson had been playing with the San Diego Fleet of the AAF but didn't get any game action before his injury. He isn't expected to return to the AAF this season, but he could get a shot with an NFL team after he recovers from surgery.

The Saints signed Bridgewater on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Bridgewater considered a contract offer from the Dolphins, which would have included a chance to start in 2019. In the end, though, he's returning to the Saints and the potential to be Drew Brees' heir apparent. There's no telling how much tread Brees has left on his tires, but Bridgewater again will act as his primary backup.
