  • Marcus Mariota QB | WAS

Titans' Marcus Mariota: To be evaluated Wednesday

Coach Mike Vrabel said Mariota (elbow) will be re-evaluated Wednesday, Travis Haney of The Athleticreports.

The Titans have taken a cautious approach with Mariota, and Vrabel reiterated earlier in the week that the young quarterback wouldn't be rushed back onto the field. Wednesday's update should provide a clue as to Mariota's availability in Week 3, though even if he can return to the field, he will draw a tough matchup at Jacksonville.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Faces civil lawsuit from accuser

Winston (suspension) is being sued in relation to the allegations that resulted in a three-game suspension from the NFL, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

The Uber driver in question has made serious claims about Winston's conduct inside the vehicle, and she's suing for "damages in the nature of emotional distress and future therapy expenses." Winston isn't facing criminal charges, but a civil trial is still a significant investigation. Winston only has one game remaining on the three-game ban he received from the NFL for this incident. Even when he's eligible to return, he'll likely continue watching Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has led the team to a 2-0 start.

  • Brandon Allen QB | NYG

    Brandon Allen: Waived by Rams

Allen was waived by the Rams on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Per the report, Allen is a candidate for the Rams' practice squad if he clears waivers, though Pelissero states that multiple teams were interested in him a year ago when he was let go by the Jaguars. Allen was a 2016 sixth-round pick by Jacksonville and has yet to appear in an NFL game.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Texans' Deshaun Watson: Leads in getting hit

Watson has been sacked seven times and hit a league-leading 21 times over the first two weeks of the season.

The Texans were the object of much preseason anticipation, largely due to the potential Watson showed in his half-season run in 2017. The first two games of 2018 haven't exactly worked out as planned as Watson is playing behind an offensive line that was rated last by Pro Football Focus heading into the season. He's been under pressure, which has led to turnovers or near-turnovers, but the second-year quarterback still has big-play ability and should be in fantasy lineups weekly. The return of Will Fuller last week certainly helped Watson's production, and it's not hard to envision the potential of an offense that has Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins as its top two targets.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Turns ball over twice in loss

Wilson completed 22 of 36 passes for 226 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Monday's 24-17 loss to the Bears. He also ran three times for 17 yards.

Both touchdown passes came in the fourth quarter, including a floating dime to Tyler Lockett in the back corner of the end zone. However, it was another game under siege for Wilson. He was sacked six times for the second straight outing and lost one fumble in the process. It was clear Wilson was trying to do too much with an unimproved offensive line, an underwhelming run game and no Doug Baldwin (knee). The Seahawks will host the Cowboys in Week 3.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Throws two touchdowns in win

Trubisky completed 25 of 34 passes for 200 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Monday night's 24-17 win over the Seahawks. He also rushed five times for 24 yards.

Trubisky got off to another strong start, throwing a touchdown via a shuffle pass on Chicago's first offensive drive. After that, the second-year pro tossed a pair of picks prior to halftime, but responded with a 10-yard touchdown while rolling to his weaker left side during the fourth quarter. Thanks to that score, Trubisky finally put together his first multi-touchdown performance through the air. Although he'll be disappointed by his two turnovers, the 24-year-old did enough to get the Bears their first victory of this season.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Deemed 'sore' by McCarthy

Coach Mike McCarthy termed Rodgers "sore" after Sunday's 29-29 tie with the Vikings, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. "That's to be expected," McCarthy said. "But he's a warrior, what he gave us yesterday was outstanding. I don't have a read on whether he's better this week than last week."

Rodgers played through the pain and with a bulky brace on his left knee Sunday, one week removed from the hit that knocked him out of the season opener for a quarter and raised the specter of a potential absence. He nonetheless pushed through, completing 30 of 42 passes for 281 yards and one touchdown against a tough defense. Expect Rodgers' practice reps to be monitored closely this week as he prepares for Sunday's visit to Washington.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Week 3 starter

Coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that Allen will start Week 3 against the Vikings, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

This was expected all along unless Allen got hurt or looked pathetic in the Week 2 loss to the Chargers, neither of which happened. The Bills are 0-2 and even though they made the playoffs last season, appear content to make this a sacrificial year that builds up towards a brighter long-term future, which has been supported in several other decisions unrelated to starting a rookie quarterback. Expect Allen to be the guy as long as he shows he's not overmatched.

  • Titans' Blaine Gabbert: Remains starter until Mariota healthy

Coach Mike Vrabel said Gabbert will remain the Titans' starting quarterback until Marcus Mariota (elbow) is healthy, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Mariota acted as the backup QB during Sunday's win against the Titans due to the lingering effects of a Week 1 elbow injury, which continues to limit certain throws. It appears Vrabel is ready to roll with Gabbert until Mariota gets back to normal. Gabbert fared OK in his spot start Sunday, completing 13 of 20 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown.

  • Marcus Mariota QB | WAS

Titans' Marcus Mariota: Won't play until healthy

Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that Mariota (elbow) won't play until he's ready, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. "There's some things he can do, and there's some throws that he can't really comfortably make," Vrabel said. "So we'll see where he's at as this thing goes on."

Mariota was active but didn't take the field Sunday against the Titans, yielding his usual starting spot to backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Until Mariota gets over his elbow injury -- i.e. he's able to make all throws without complication -- he doesn't appear to be a candidate to play. His status remains in flux for the Titans' Week 3 divisional matchup in Jacksonville.
