Rush completed 15 of 23 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason game against the 49ers.

The second-year QB is in a camp battle with fifth-round pick Mike White to be Dak Prescott's No. 2, and at least Thursday, Rush looked like the better man for the job. White will get his chances this preseason, but whichever of them becomes the game-day backup will still have very little fantasy value barring an injury to Prescott.

Darnold made his professional debut in Friday's 17-0 preseason win over the Falcons, completing 13 of 18 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown while adding eight yards on two scrambles.

As expected, Darnold was the third quarterback to enter the game for New York after Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater. He appeared to have thrown a touchdown pass to Charles Johnson in the two-minute drill late in the first half, but it was called back on offensive pass interference. Instead of pouting about it, the rookie quarterback showed poise by connecting with Johnson for a 14-yard score on the very next play. Most of his other throws besides the touchdown were of the safe variety, though Darnold was often flushed out of the pocket playing behind backup linemen. The third overall pick in April's draft gave Jets fans a lot to get excited about, but he's still running third in New York's quarterback competition at this point.

Stafford is on the Lions' sideline with pads and a helmet before Friday's preseason game against the Raiders, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Stafford wasn't warming up with the Lions' pass catchers, so initial reports favored him sitting this one out. It's still not guaranteed that Stafford will play, but most quarterbacks in his situation would be in street clothes otherwise.

Sudfeld completed 10 of 14 passing attempts for 140 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Thursday's 31-14 preseason loss to Pittsburgh. He also rushed twice for five yards.

Overall, it was a good night for Sudfeld, despite throwing his first interception on the Eagles' initial drive. As the game progressed, the 24-year-old showed a mix of touch and accuracy while under center, throwing a 63-yard touchdown pass to Sheldon Gibson while completing 71.0 percent of his passes on the evening. Despite the solid showing, Sudfeld will need an injury or a Nick Foles trade to become fantasy relevant this season.

Stafford isn't expected to suit up for Friday's preseason game against the Raiders, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

There's no reason to risk injury to the Lions' franchise signal caller, so backups Matt Cassel and Jake Rudock will lead the offense in the preseason opener.

Lee completed four of eight passes for 37 yards and lost a fumble in Thursday's preseason loss to the Saints. He added two carries for eight yards.

Lee was sacked five times and fumbled twice despite playing only nine offensive snaps. The rookie sixth-round pick was unlikely to unseat Cody Kessler as the Jaguars' backup quarterback, and Thursday's effort strengthened that notion. The 25-year-old should see a higher volume of reps in coming preseason games, but he seems like a prime candidate for the practice squad, at best.

Winston (suspension) entered the game on the Buccaneers' third possession in a 26-24 preseason win over the Dolphins on Thursday. He completed 11 of 13 passes for 102 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Winston entered the game in the second quarter and had a key 19-yard completion to Freddie Martino during his first possession, a drive that culminated in a three-yard touchdown run by second-round pick Ronald Jones II. The fourth-year quarterback subsequently connected with rookie Justin Watson and Cameron Brate on his second series, putting on a crisp performance overall before giving way to Ryan Griffin for the entirety of the second half. The night went about as well as it could have for Winston, who the Bucs are trying to afford enough work before he leaves the team to serve a three-game suspension to open the regular season. He'll likely see a similar workload when Tampa takes on the Titans in its second preseason game a week from Saturday.

Walker was 5-of-8 passing for 88 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in Thursday's win over Seattle.

Walker is battling Brad Kaaya for the third-string quaterback role. However, it's not clear if the Colts will keep three quarterbacks on the roster if Andrew Luck looks fully healthy. Jacoby Brissett is set as Luck's backup.

Boyle completed seven of 15 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's preseason opener.

Boyle's accuracy was not on point Thursday, but the bulk of the seven passes he completed were rather impressive, including perfect tosses on each of his scores. Boyle faces long odds to make the Packers' Week 1 roster given the experience of fellow reserve quarterbacks Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer, but if he keeps playing like he did Thursday, there is a good chance a spot on the Packers' practice squad is reserved for him.

Goff and some other starters may be held out of the Rams' second preseason game Aug. 18 against Oakland, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

The Rams will face the Raiders again in Week 1 of the regular season, creating a situation that coach Sean McVay acknowledges to be "tricky". With Brandin Cooks standing as the only major addition on the offensive side, McVay probably believes Goff and the other key players don't need many reps during the preseason. The starters may need to wait until Aug. 25 against the Texans to get significant run.
