Paxton Lynch QB | PIT
Broncos' Paxton Lynch: Practicing for first time in two months
Lynch (shoulder) returned to practice Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9 News Denver reports.
Lynch initially was expected to make a quick return from the shoulder strain he suffered in the preseason, but he ultimately ended up missing more than two months of practice. He resumed throwing a couple weeks ago, and while he's unlikely to be available for Monday's game in Kansas City, he could be back at some point in November. With Trevor Siemian unable to maintain to his strong start to the season, the Broncos eventually may have a quarterback controversy on their hands. Brock Osweiler has been serving as the backup all season and has only taken seven snaps.

Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: No practice Wednesday
Winston (shoulder) won't practice Wednesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
As he did a week ago, Winston is resting the AC joint sprain in his right (throwing) shoulder to limit any chance of an aggravation. If he follows a similar plan this week, he'll also miss Thursday's session before taking every practice rep with the first-team offense Friday. Because that plan helped work wonders for Winston this past Sunday in Buffalo to the tune of 384 yards and three touchdowns, the Bucs can be confident that he'll be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers.

Sam Bradford QB | MIN
Vikings' Sam Bradford: Absent from first practice of week
Bradford (knee) wasn't present for the Vikings' practice Wednesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Bradford has missed the last two games after experiencing renewed swelling in his left knee, and his absence Wednesday suggests he's trending toward sitting out again Sunday against the Browns. It's unclear how much progress Bradford has made in his recovery to date, or if he'll even take the field again this season. Case Keenum is expected to continue serving as the Vikings' starting quarterback until at least Week 10, when Teddy Bridgewater (knee) could be ready to return from injury and challenge Keenum for the top spot on the depth chart.

Mike Bercovici QB | ARI
Mike Bercovici: Signed to Cardinals' practice squad
Bercovici signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Tuesday, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
With Carson Palmer out for an extended period of time with a broken arm, the Cardinals will bring in Bercovici as nothing more than an emergency option at quarterback. He was most recently released by the Chargers prior to the start of the regular season.

Cooper Rush QB | ATL
Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Sees first NFL action in Sunday's rout
Rush came in late in Sunday's 40-10 win over the 49ers, completing one of two passes for two yards and carrying the ball twice for 13 yards.
It wasn't exactly an auspicious pro debut for the undrafted rookie, but Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones said after the game that Rush, and not Kellen Moore, was now No. 2 on the depth chart behind Dak Prescott. Expect the team to continue looking for opportunities to get Rush some snaps in garbage time with an eye on accelerating his development.

Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Redskins' Kirk Cousins: Throws three touchdowns in loss
Cousins completed 30 of 40 passes for 303 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Monday night's 34-24 loss to the Eagles. He also rushed three times for 18 yards.
Cousins was responsible for all of Washington's end-zone trips, which all occurred from inside the red zone. With two touchdowns to tight end Jordan Reed and another to tailback Chris Thompson, though, Cousins once again didn't get much production out of his wide receivers. In fact, none of the Redskins wideouts topped 40 yards. To his credit, Cousins has still tossed for 300 yards three times in his past four outings, while totaling 11 touchdowns versus two interceptions over that span as well. That illustrates the signal caller's strong form ahead of Sunday's next divisional matchup, a home date with the Cowboys.

Trevor Siemian QB | ATL
Broncos' Trevor Siemian: Will retain starting role
Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said Monday that Siemian will remain the team's starting quarterback, Troy E. Renck of Denver 7 News reports. "Trevor is our guy. He's done enough good things on tape...it's not time for [a quarterback change]," Joseph said.
Siemian was riding high after completing 65 percent of his passes while tossing six touchdowns and scampering for another in the Broncos' first two contests, but he's slumped badly while Denver has dropped three of its last four games, including a shutout loss Sunday to the Chargers. Over that four-game stretch, Siemian has turned the ball over six times while leading the Broncos to just three touchdown drives along the way. It hasn't helped Siemian's case that the team's pass protection has been poor of late, but the 25-year-old may nonetheless need to do a better job of protecting the ball beginning with the Broncos' Week 8 game against the Chiefs in order to stave off backup Brock Osweiler for the starting gig.

Blaine Gabbert QB | KC
Cardinals' Blaine Gabbert: To serve as backup quarterback
Gabbert will serve as the Cardinals' backup quarterback with Carson Palmer (arm) ruled out at least eight weeks, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Despite Gabbert boasting more experience as a starting quarterback over the course of his NFL career, the Cardinals will move forward with long-time backup Drew Stanton in Palmer's absence. Gabbert last started the first five games of the season for the 49ers last year and threw five touchdowns and six interceptions before being benched.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Dominates 49ers on Sunday
Prescott completed 16 of 25 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns to go with four rushes for 26 yards and another touchdown in Sunday's 40-10 win over San Francisco.
It was the second-year quarterback's third straight week with three passing touchdowns. Prescott put on a clinic against the overmatched 49ers defense, and his teammates consistently made plays around him, highlighted by Ezekiel Elliott's 72-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the third quarter. The Mississippi State product has a pretty favorable schedule coming up, starting at Washington in Week 8.

C.J. Beathard QB | JAC
49ers' C.J. Beathard: Struggles in first start
Beathard completed 22 of 38 pass attempts for 235 yards with no passing touchdowns or interceptions. He added 30 yards and a score on five carries in Sunday's blowout loss to the Cowboys.
A four-yard TD scramble in the fourth quarter saved what would have been a fairly disappointing passing performance for the rookie at home against a less-than-intimidating passing defense. Beathard's offensive line did him no favors in his first NFL start, surrendering five sacks on the day. Most of the 23-year-old's completions were of the short and medium variety, but he did take a few shots downfield, notably connecting with Marquise Goodwin for 48 yards in the first quarter. While his skill set is better suited for ball-control offenses, the 49ers' inconsistent defense could lead to fantasy usefulness for Beathard in deeper formats due to sheer passing volume. The rookie signal caller may be asked to do even more throwing against a high-octane Eagles club next Sunday.
