Vikings' Sam Bradford: Dr. Andrews confirms no structural damage
Bradford did not suffer any structural damage to his injured left knee, and he remains week-to-week after a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews confirmed the injury is a bone bruise, NFL.com reports.
Bradford was able to participate in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, though he wasn't close to getting himself ready for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, which means Case Keenum will start again. It's certainly good news that Bradford didn't suffer a more serious injury, though he also doesn't appear to be that close to returning.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Vikings' Case Keenum: Getting another start
With Sam Bradford (knee) ruled out, Keenum will start Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, ESPN.com reports.
Bradford was held out of Friday's practice and is now getting a second opinion on his surgically repaired left knee. Keenum was totally ineffective in his last start, completing 20 of 37 passes for 167 yards, despite playing with a solid receiving corps and the benefit of an efficient running game. Facing a Tampa Bay defense that shut down the Bears last week, Keenum is a bottom-five option among Week 3 starting quarterbacks. His presence under center necessitates major downgrades for the rest of the Minnesota offense.

Vikings' Sam Bradford: Ruled out by coach
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Bradford (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
Per ESPN.com, Bradford's injured knee didn't respond well to limited practice sessions Wednesday and Thursday. He was dealing with pronounced pain Friday morning, and he's now scheduled to get a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews, who performed ACL repairs on the same left knee in 2013 and 2014. The injury is thought to be a bone bruise, but there's been some trouble diagnosing it due to the scar tissue built up around Bradford's ACL. Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph all need to be significantly downgraded with Case Keenum under center, and Bradford's absence is also a sub-optimal development for Dalvin Cook.

Vikings' Sam Bradford: Not expected to play
Bradford (knee) is not expected to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, ESPN.com's Dan Graziano reports.
Bradford's absence from the start of Friday's practice initially didn't seem too concerning, but it apparently was a direct result of his knee responding poorly to limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. Hampered by what is believed to be a bone bruise, the 29-year-old quarterback is shaping up as no better than a game-day decision for Week 3, making Case Keenum the likely starter against Tampa Bay. Another update will be available when the Vikings release their final injury report.

Vikings' Sam Bradford: Not on field as practice starts
Bradford (knee) isn't on the field for the start of Friday's practice, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
A limited practice participant the previous two days, Bradford seems to be headed for another 'questionable' designation when Friday's injury report is released. His absence from the start of practice doesn't necessarily mean he'll be listed as a non-participant, but it does mean he'll be no better than limited. Though Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has been optimistic about Bradford's health, it's still quite possible Case Keenum makes another start Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Brian Hoyer QB | LV
49ers' Brian Hoyer: Racks up trio of scores
Hoyer completed 23 of 37 passes for 332 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in Thursday's 41-39 loss to the Rams. He also gained nine yards and scored another touchdown on his sole rush.
Hoyer's impressive final line was due in overwhelmingly large part to the productive connection he displayed with top target Pierre Garcon, and to a 50-yard hook-up with speedy No. 2 option Marquise Goodwin. However, his two scoring throws went elsewhere, as he tossed a one-yard touchdown to Garrett Celek early in the fourth quarter and then found rookie Trent Taylor from three yards out with 5:08 remaining. Hoyer couldn't connect with Taylor again when it counted most, though, as he misfired on a would-be game-tying two-point conversion pass with 2:13 remaining. Despite the disappointing final outcome, Hoyer's performance represented a significant step forward after he'd thrown for a combined 292 yards and no touchdowns through his first two games. He'll look to continue thriving in head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense when the Niners face off with the Cardinals on the road in Week 4.

Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Fires three touchdowns
Goff completed 22 of 28 passes for 292 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Thursday's 41-39 win over the 49ers. He also lost a yard on his sole rush.
Goff was even sharper than he'd been in the opener versus the Colts, a game in which he completed 72.4 percent of his throws. The second-year signal caller boasted a 78.6 percent completion rate Thursday, a tally that was partly comprised of a combined 12 completions on 14 targets to top wideouts Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods. Two of Goff's three touchdowns also went to Watkins, who appears increasingly comfortable in head coach Sean McVay's system with each passing week. While the rest of the Rams' pass catchers were minimally involved, it was nevertheless another highly encouraging outing for the 2016 first-round pick, who emerged from the contest with a stellar 145.8 QBR. Goff has helped lead the Rams to their best point total through the first three games of a season since the Kurt Warner-helmed 2000 squad, and he'll look to keep the momentum going in a Week 4 tilt against the Cowboys.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Avoids Week 3 injury report
Prescott (ankle) wasn't listed on the Cowboys' injury report Thursday, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Both owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett expressed optimism regarding Prescott after he emerged from Sunday's beatdown in Denver with an ankle injury, and the quarterback backed up their comments with no restrictions in the first practice of the week. Even if Prescott's mobility is compromised somewhat Monday at Arizona, Ezekiel Elliott is unlikely to post back-to-back duds, bringing back some stability to the offense.

Sam Bradford QB | MIN
Vikings' Sam Bradford: Workload limited again Thursday
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said that Bradford (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The Vikings planned all along to limit Bradford's activity in the team's second practice of the week, but the more important takeaway from Thursday's session was that Zimmer was upbeat about the quarterback's health. Per Tomasson, Zimmer said he feels better Thursday than he did a day earlier about Bradford's chances of suiting up Sunday against the Buccaneers, but the team's final practice of the week Friday should shed more light on the signal caller's status. If Bradford's knee issue -- which is believed to be a bone bruise -- forces him to the sideline for a second straight week, Case Keenum would pick up another start behind center, resulting in a bleaker outlook for the team's receiving corps.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Unlimited by ankle injury
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Thursday that Prescott (ankle) is experiencing no limitations and "seems pretty good physically moving around," Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Garrett's comments support what Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier this week regarding the health of the team's franchise quarterback, who tweaked his ankle in a blowout loss to the Broncos on Sunday. With the Cowboys matching up with the Cardinals on Monday night, Prescott will benefit from an additional day to rest the ankle, but even in a shorter week, it wouldn't seem that the second-year player would be at any serious risk of missing time. It's expected that Prescott will be involved in the Cowboys' first practice of the week Thursday in at least a limited capacity.
