Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Struggles at Lambeau again
Wilson completed 14 of 27 passes for 158 yards and took two carries for 40 yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Packers.
Wilson took three sacks and lost a fumble on one of them, dealing with Seattle's usual struggles on the offensive line. He also didn't get much help from the running game, which accounted for just 50 yards on 16 carries once his own rushing stats are removed. Wilson did at least look mobile and healthy, likely setting him up for a bounce back in a Week 2 home game against the 49ers.

Jacoby Brissett QB | ARI
Colts' Jacoby Brissett: Likely to start Week 2
Brissett likely will start Week 2 against the Cardinals, Zak Keefer of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Colts coach Chuck Pagano provided a non-answer when asked about the QB situation, merely saying "we gotta look at everything." Common sense dictates that Scott Tolzien won't get another shot, considering he was terrible in his lone start last season and even worse in Sunday's 46-9 loss to the Rams. Brissett has only been with the team for a week and may not know much of the playbook, but he'd probably still give the team a better chance to win until Andrew Luck (shoulder) is ready. Luck increasingly seems like a long shot to be ready before October.

Matthew Stafford QB | LAR
Lions' Matthew Stafford: Tosses four TDs against Cards
Stafford completed 29 of 41 pass attempts for 292 yards, four touchdowns and one interception Sunday during the Lions' 35-23 victory over the Cardinals. He also rushed twice for 14 yards.
After throwing a pick-six on his very first pass of the day, Stafford bounced back in impressive fashion and ultimately rallied the Lions to 26 straight points after falling behind 17-9 late in the third quarter. Twice he connected with rookie Kenny Golladay for touchdowns of 10 and 45 yards, but also found Marvin Jones and Theo Riddick for short-range scores as well -- with all of this coming against last season's fourth-ranked pass defense. However, it should be noted that the Cardinals almost completely shut down Detroit's running game (3.0 YPC), so Stafford was almost forced to take to the air to put up points. With that said, the Georgia product could be in for a similar situation next week against a Giants defense that allowed the third-fewest rushing yards in 2016 but just the 23rd-most passing yards.
-
Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Drops 306 passing yards on Colts
Goff completed 21 of 29 passes for 306 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win over Indianapolis.
While this was an encouraging showing from Goff, the Los Angeles defense dominated the Colts early to set up a cakewalk matchup for the sophomore quarterback. Still, Goff showed chemistry with his weapons and capitalized on an inferior opponent. The Rams have a better supporting cast surrounding their franchise quarterback than last season, and it's not out of the question to suggest Sean McVay will quickly prove to be a better coaching fit than Jeff Fisher was. At this stage of the game, Goff's fantasy upside is still capped, and he's probably only worth a roster spot in two-QB settings and some keeper/dynasty formats.
-
Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Bills' Tyrod Taylor: Throws two touchdowns in win
Taylor completed 16 of 28 passes for 224 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while tacking on 38 rushing yards on eight carries in Sunday's 21-12 Week 1 win over the Jets.
Taylor threw a red-zone interception on the opening drive, but made amends by finding tight end Charles Clay from one yard out to open the scoring in the second quarter. He added another one-yard touchdown to Andre Holmes in the third and consistently made the most out of an unimpressive arsenal of receivers. While his rushing contributions were modest, Taylor's legs were still a huge factor in extending plays and turning would-be sacks into positive gains.
-
Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Bengals' Andy Dalton: Has nightmare season debut
Dalton completed 16 of 31 passes for 170 yards and four picks in Sunday's loss to Baltimore. He also lost a fumble during the contest.
You'd have to go back to the 2013 season finale against Baltimore for the last time Dalton chucked four picks. A lot of his early struggles Sunday came from failing to recognize the underneath defender, with his first interception coming on a tip from outside linebacker Patrick Onwuasor and his second, which occurred in the end zone, coming courtesy of a lurking C.J. Mosley. His third interception came after the blitzing Terrell Suggs got his hands on the pass. With a bevy of new weapons, the hope coming into 2017 was that Dalton would up his production from last year's modest sums. While Sunday was a horrid first step, it should be noted that turnovers haven't been a problem for Dalton for several years now, as he's totaled just 15 interceptions over the past two seasons combined. Therefore, it's fair to assume that Sunday's performance was an ugly anomaly.

Jacoby Brissett QB | ARI
Colts' Jacoby Brissett: Gets into Sunday's game
Brissett, who the Colts acquired on Sept. 2, took over at QB for the Colts in Sunday's loss to the Rams in the fourth quarter, Kevin Bowen of the team's official site reports.
Given Scott Tolzien's struggles in Sunday's game, it's not hard to imagine a scenario in which the assignment carries over into Week 2. This is a situation to monitor in the coming days, with reports that top QB Andrew Luck's absence could potentially extend into October.
-
Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Texans' Deshaun Watson: Tosses touchdown in rocky debut
Watson completed 12 of 23 passes for 102 yards with one touchdown, one interception and a lost fumble in Sunday's 29-7 Week 1 loss to the Jaguars. He also rushed twice for 16 yards while playing the entire second half.
Watson replaced an ineffective Tom Savage trailing 19-0 at halftime and immediately engineered a touchdown drive to pull his team back within 12. Unfortunately for the rookie, Jacksonville's defense was able to adapt from there on out and keep him off the scoreboard the rest of the way while recording four sacks for a game total of 10. Given Savage's awful play in the first half, Watson will likely remain Houston's quarterback for the long haul. That's good news for DeAndre Hopkins, who was on the receiving end of the 12th overall pick's first career touchdown pass from four yards out.
-
Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Efficient in season opener
Carr completed 22 or 32 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Titans. He added two yards on the ground during the contest.
Carr looked sharp in his first meaningful action since going down with a broken leg in Week 16 of last season. After holding steady for much of the game in what was a defensive, field-position-focused game, Carr broke the game open for Oakland early in the fourth quarter with a 19-yard strike to Seth Roberts in the end zone, a pass that landed in between three Tennessee defenders. The Raiders had a Carr-focused offseason, both with a record-setting contract and in elevating his position coach to coordinator. Even with the much-ballyhooed addition of Marshawn Lynch, this offense will still live and die with the pass.
-
Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Redskins' Kirk Cousins: Commits three turnovers in loss to Eagles
Cousins completed 23 of 40 pass attempts for 240 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's game against the Eagles. He also rushed four times for 30 yards and lost a pair of fumbles in the 30-17 loss.
Cousins struggled to connect consistently with his receivers and completed just 58 percent of his passes on the day. He also committed some untimely turnovers as his team trailed into the fourth quarter, including an interception in the red zone and a dubious fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Cousins did display a developing rapport with new target Terelle Pryor and was effective as a runner. He will look to bounce back from a lackluster season debut next week against the Rams.
