Cardale Jones QB | LAC
Chargers' Cardale Jones: Best performance of preseason
Jones completed nine of 13 attempts for 74 yards and interception during Saturday's preseason win over the Rams.
Jones saw plenty of time at quarterback, with Philip Rivers playing until the end of the first quarter, and nominal backup Kellen Clemens sitting out Saturday's contest to allow the former Ohio State product additional reps. The result was fairly encouraging, with Jones looking the most comfortable in the pocket since joining the Chargers just prior to training camp. Given Clemens' grasp of the playbook and veteran poise, it seems unlikely that Jones will be able to unseat the 34-year-old for the backup job. But if nothing else, the allure of Jones' potential may be enough to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Bengals' Andy Dalton: Starts hot, cools late
Dalton completed eight of 13 passes for 70 yards in Sunday's preseason loss to Washington. He also ran for seven yards and lost a fumble during the contest.
Dalton had Cincinnati humming early on, connecting on five of his attempts, including four to A.J. Green, during a Bengals opening drive that culminated in a touchdown. Dalton fumbled away the next drive and completed just three passes for the remainder of the half. Dalton aired it out plenty in 2016 and reached or neared plenty of career highs, but saw career lows in touchdowns and touchdown percentage - a product of playing much of the year without A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert. Both will be back this season, and the addition of speedster John Ross and pass-catching back Joe Mixon should make Cincinnati a more formidable offense. As Dalton's preseason numbers have shown, however, it just hasn't all come together yet.

Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN
Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Throws touchdown pass in Sunday victory
Trubisky completed 10 of 15 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown while adding an additional nine rushing yards in Sunday's win against the Titans.
Trubisky started the second half, and after overthrowing two passes on the first drive, he was lucky to have a sure interception dropped by a defender on the ensuing possession. However, he turned things around quickly thereafter, as he connected with rookie Tanner Gentry on a 45-yard score down the left sideline. Trubisky also showed excellent pocket poise by evading pressure on numerous occasions. Unless the team makes an announcement to the contrary, Mike Glennon is still expected to be the Week 1 starter.

Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Struggles to produce downfield versus Chargers
Goff completed five of eight pass attempts for 56 yards and an interception during Saturday's 21-19 loss to the Chargers. He also lost a fumble.
Goff played into the second quarter, and despite a healthy completion percentage, he posted a pedestrian 7.0 yards per attempt. He lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown on the first series and threw an interception on a deep attempt to Sammy Watkins on the second, setting up a touchdown drive by the Chargers. Goff impressed last week against the Raiders, but any momentum he was building toward the regular season was slowed a bit by this performance. Regardless, he appears set to rest during Thursday's preseason finale against the Packers before starting Week 1 against the Colts.

Bryce Petty QB | MIA
Jets' Bryce Petty: Diagnosed with minor sprain
Petty (knee) suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain and still hopes to play in Thursday's preseason finale against Philadelphia, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
This was probably the best-case scenario for the injury Petty suffered during Saturday's preseason game against the Giants. He completed 15 of 18 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns in the contest, making a strong case to serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind likely starter Josh McCown. Meanwhile, Christian Hackenberg tossed a pair of pick-sixes while completing 12 of 21 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.
-
Paxton Lynch QB | PIT
Broncos' Paxton Lynch: Set for MRI on Sunday
Lynch (shoulder) will have an MRI on Sunday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Lynch was removed from Saturday's preseason game against the Packers, and while his injury isn't believed to be serious, the Broncos still want to see MRI results. Trevor Siemian has already been named the Week 1 starter, but Lynch could get another shot at some point this season. Kyle Sloter is the No. 3 quarterback.
-
Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Looks sharp in pair of TD drives
Carr completed 13 of 17 pass attempts for 144 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 24-20 preseason defeat to the Cowboys.
Carr looked sharp in his largest sample size this preseason, completing 77 percent of his attempts while connecting for touchdowns with Cordarrelle Patterson and Amari Cooper. The fourth-year pro will be a spectator for next week's preseason finale against the Seahawks, but this cameo certainly indicates that he is ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season against the Titans.
-
Cooper Rush QB | ATL
Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Thrives in extended outing versus Raiders
Rush completed 12 of 13 pass attempts for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 24-20 win over the Raiders. He gained 13 yards on his only rushing attempt.
Rush was given an extended outing at the expense of Kellen Moore in this one. He thrived with the opportunity and completed an 85-yard drive with a seven-yard strike to Ronnie Hillman before connecting with Lance Lenoir for a 44-yard score on the following drive. Rush has excelled this preseason and looks to be moving ahead of Moore as the regular season approaches. The two could be given a final opportunity to stake their claims to the backup position behind Dak Prescott, but Rush certainly seems to have the edge after this performance.
-
Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Shines in first half versus Raiders
Prescott completed 11 of 14 pass attempts for 113 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-20 preseason win over the Raiders. He added eight yards on a pair of carries.
Prescott was razor sharp for the second time in as many weeks, completing 79 percent of his passes and leading an 80-yard touchdown drive which he capped with a 10-yard touchdown toss to Jason Witten. Though he and the vast majority of the starters will not contribute Thursday against the Texans, Prescott appears ready to go for a 2017 campaign in which he will look to build on his tremendous rookie season.
-
Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Barely plays against Denver
Rodgers completed three of five passes for 12 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos.
Rodgers actually got more playing time in the previous exhibition and was removed before the end of the first quarter Saturday. Per ESPN's Rob Demovsky, the 33-year-old quarterback recently mentioned that he feels better than he did at this time the past couple of years, the residual benefit of additional offseason training, an improved diet and taking nearly a full month off from throwing this summer. The Packers seem to be on board with limiting the stress on Rodgers' prized right arm. He'll presumably be held out of the preseason finale ahead of a Week 1 matchup with Seattle.
