  • Justin Fields QB | NYJ

Jets' Justin Fields: Sustains concussion Sunday

Fields sustained a concussion during Sunday's game against the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com and Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports report.

Before his departure from the Jets' 30-10 loss, Fields completed three of 11 pass attempts for 27 yards and added five carries for 49 yards. With the QB's concussion confirmed by the Jets, per Cimini, Fields now will have to progress through the NFL's protocol for head injuries in order to play next weekend against the Buccaneers. If Fields isn't cleared for Week 3 action, Tyrod Taylor would be in line to start in his place.

Jets' Justin Fields: Exits Sunday's game

Fields was forced out of Sunday's game against the Bills to be evaluated for a possible concussion.

Prior to heading to the locker room to get checked out, Fields completed three of his 11 pass attempts for 27 yards and carried five times for 49 yards. In Fields' absence, Tyrod Taylor has taken over at quarterback for the Jets.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Won't return to Sunday's game

Burrow (toe) won't return to Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Per Ben Baby of ESPN.com, Burrow sustained his toe injury when he was sacked with 8:36 left in the second quarter of Sunday's contest. The quarterback, who walked off the field with the assistance of trainers, subsequently underwent an MRI, per Joe Danneman of FOX19 before being ruled out. Burrow's status now will need to be closely monitored ahead of next weekend's tilt against the Vikings, with Jake Browning next in line for the Bengals' QB snaps, and Brett Rypien currently a member of the team's practice squad.

  • Tanner McKee QB | PHI

Eagles' Tanner McKee: Emergency QB for Week 2

McKee (thumb) is inactive but will serve as the Eagles' emergency third-string quarterback against the Chiefs on Sunday.

McKee is still recovering from a fractured right thumb that he suffered during training camp. He will be the Eagles' third-string quarterback for Sunday's Super Bowl LIX rematch, which means he'll only see the field if both Jalen Hurts and Sam Howell were to leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Injures toe Sunday

Burrow was forced out of Sunday's game against the Jaguars with a left toe injury.

Following Burrow's exit from the contest, Jake Browning took over at QB for the Bengals. The Bengals subsequently announced that Burrow's return to the game is questionable.

  • Riley Leonard QB | IND

Colts' Riley Leonard: Emergency QB3 vs. Denver

Leonard (coach's decision) is inactive against the Broncos on Sunday but will serve as the Colts' emergency third-string quarterback.

As the emergency third-string quarterback, Leonard will see the field Sunday only if both Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson were to leave due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN

Broncos' Sam Ehlinger: Playing emergency role again

Ehlinger (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Ehlinger will serve as the emergency third quarterback behind Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham, meaning he can enter the game if both of them are forced to exit due to injury, illness or ejection. The former Colt played the same role a week ago for Denver.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Exits Sunday's game

Burrow headed to the locker room during Sunday's game against the Jaguars after sustaining an unspecified injury, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Burrow -- who walked off the field with the assistance of trainers, per Baby -- completed seven of his 13 pass attempts for 76 yards and a TD. In Burrow's absence, Jake Browning is in at QB for the Bengals.

  • Tommy DeVito QB | NE

Patriots' Tommy DeVito: Emergency QB for Week 2

DeVito (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Patriots' emergency third quarterback against the Dolphins on Sunday.

DeVito will be New England's emergency quarterback for a second consecutive week after he was claimed off waivers in late August. As the emergency QB3, DeVito is not allowed to play unless Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs are both removed from Sunday's contest due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Giants' Jameis Winston: Again serving as emergency QB

Winston (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys but is serving as the Giants emergency quarterback.

First-round rookie Jaxson Dart will again work as the backup to starter Russell Wilson, with Winston continuing to suit up as the emergency No. 3 quarterback. Wilson struggled in his Giants debut last week, and Dart could get an opportunity if those struggles continue Sunday. Winston, however, can only take the field in Dallas if both Wilson and Dart are injured.
