Saints' Tyler Shough: Loses QB competition to Rattler

Shough spent the preseason in a prolonged competition with Rattler for the Week 1 starting gig, but at least to begin the regular season, he'll kick off his NFL career in a backup capacity. It may not be long before the rookie second-round pick gets a chance to take the field, though, if Rattler ends up struggling to move the offense consistently. The Saints have a posted win total of 5.5 at several sports betting sites.

DJ Uiagalelei: Fails to make 53-man roster
The Chargers are waiving Uiagalelei on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Bears' Case Keenum: Secures roster spot
Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Keenum (leg) will be one of three quarterbacks on Chicago's initial 53-man roster, behind starter Caleb Williams and newly extended backup Tyson Bagent, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Keenum, who picked up a leg injury mid-August and is reportedly considered day-to-day, appears in line to contribute as the Bears' emergency No. 3 quarterback this season. What the 37-year-old veteran brings to the table as a mentor for Williams and Bagent may, ultimately, be as valuable to Chicago as his ability to capably pilot the offense under center if needed.

Sean Clifford: Cut by Green Bay
The Packers waived Clifford on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Both Clifford and Taylor Elgersma were cut by the Packers on Tuesday, leaving Malik Willis behind Jordan Love (thumb) at quarterback for the Packers.
