  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Steelers' Russell Wilson: Competing with Fields to re-sign?

Steelers owner and president Art Rooney II said Monday that it's "probably unlikely" the team brings back both Wilson and Justin Fields this offseason, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Pryor reports that Pittsburgh likely will work to bring back one of Wilson or Fields on a one-year contract this offseason, but it sounds like the team isn't considering re-signing both players. The comments made by Rooney II don't necessarily preclude both Wilson and Fields walking as free agents, though Mark Kaboly of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports the team owner said re-signing one of the two signal-callers ""will give us the best opportunity to move forward." As the leader of Pittsburgh's offense, Wilson closed out the season with five consecutive losses, including a wild-card round playoff exit versus Baltimore. The interest he draws as a free agent relative to Fields could ultimately be the deciding factor in dictating which quarterback gets another chance to prove themselves with the Steelers during the 2025 campaign.

  • Hendon Hooker QB | NYJ

Lions' Hendon Hooker: Used sparingly in 2024

Hooker completed six of nine passes for 62 yards while adding five carries for two yards over three games in 2024.

Hooker operated as Jared Goff's primary backup option in 2024, ultimately seeing marginal action with Goff starting all 17 regular-season contests. Hooker was demoted to the No. 3 option at quarterback when Detroit signed Teddy Bridgewater in late December after Bridgewater had previously retired prior to the year. Nonetheless, with Bridgewater entering free agency, Hooker will presumably enter the 2025 campaign as Goff's top backup.

  • Lions' Teddy Bridgewater: No impact with Lions in 2024

Bridgewater did not log any stats with the Lions during the 2024 regular season.

Bridgewater retired from football ahead of the 2024 campaign, only to return to Detroit on a one-year deal in late December to serve as a backup option to starter Jared Goff. Bridgewater did not appear in a regular-season contest before logging three snaps in the team's loss to the Commanders in the NFC divisional round. It's unclear where the quarterback's interests lie in terms of his playing career, but Bridgewater will enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Carries team to Super Bowl LIX

Mahomes completed 18 of 26 pass attempts for 245 yards and a touchdown while taking 11 carries for 43 yards and a pair of scores with one lost fumble in Sunday's 32-29 AFC Championship Game victory over Buffalo.

Mahomes overcame a fumble in the first quarter before accounting for the Chiefs' next three touchdowns, including an impressive power-back like run for one of his two rushing scores Sunday. The superstar quarterback put his team on his back in order to give Kansas City its fifth Super Bowl appearance since the 2020 campaign. Mahomes, Chris Jones and Travis Kelce headline a star-studded lineup that will travel to New Orleans to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Two TDs not enough in AFCCG loss

Allen completed 22 of 34 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 39 yards in Sunday's 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Allen threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins to cut Buffalo's deficit to 21-16 in the final minute of the first half, but the 237-pound quarterback was subsequently stuffed on a two-point conversion attempt. Allen missed another two-point conversion attempt after James Cook's one-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and came up short on a fourth-and-1 rushing attempt in the fourth quarter but bounced back on the next drive with a four-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel on fourth down to tie the game, 29-29. Buffalo got the ball back down 32-29 with 3:33 to play but promptly turned it over on downs after four Allen pass attempts on the Bills' final possession netted only five yards. Allen had another impressive regular season, compiling 28 passing touchdowns and 12 more with his legs, but he dropped to 0-4 against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the postseason, and this latest loss can be traced directly to Allen's inability to convert short-yardage opportunities with his legs after he had excelled in that department all season. The 28-year-old quarterback has four years left on his six-year, $258 million contract with the Bills.

  • Jayden Daniels QB | WAS

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Excellent rookie season concludes

Daniels completed 29 of 48 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 55-23 NFC Championship Game loss to the Eagles. He added six rushes for 48 yards and an additional score.

It wasn't Daniels' most efficient performance, and his potential comeback attempt was cut short by four total turnovers from the Commanders -- though he accounted for only one on an interception late in the fourth quarter with the contest already decided. He still managed to lead five total scoring drives, highlighted by a 36-yard touchdown throw and a 10-yard rush. Though Daniels' rookie season concluded short of the Super Bowl, he exceeded any realistic expectations both from an individual and team perspective. Across 19 total games, he accounted for 35 total touchdowns while turning the ball over only nine times, and he will enter the 2025 season as a top fantasy option at the QB position.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Four total TDs in NFCCG victory

Hurts completed 20 of 28 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown while rushing 10 times for 16 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 55-23 win over the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.

Hurts quickly answered any questions about the health of his knee by powering in a one-yard rushing touchdown on the brotherly shove in the second quarter to cap a drive he extended by converting on fourth-and-5 with a 31-yard pass to A.J. Brown. The dual-threat quarterback then had a 17-yard touchdown run taken off the board by a holding penalty but threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Brown five plays later to help the Eagles take a 27-15 lead into the locker room. Hurts added a nine-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and another on a one-yard sneak in the fourth as the Eagles piled up seven rushing scores in this lopsided win to reach the Super Bowl for the second time in Hurts' tenure with the team. They'll either have a rematch of Super Bowl LVII against the Chiefs or face the Bills in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.

  • Jeff Driskel QB | WAS

Commanders' Jeff Driskel: Set as emergency QB again Sunday

Driskel (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday and will serve as Washington's emergency third quarterback versus Philadelphia in the NFC Championship Game, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.

Driskel has been the emergency QB throughout most of the season for the Commanders. The journeyman backup appeared in one game this season when he took one offensive snap Week 2 versus the Giants. He'll only be eligible to enter Sunday's game if both starting quarterback Jayden Daniels and primary backup Marcus Mariota are forced out with injury, illness or ejection.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Likely to wear knee brace Sunday

Hurts doesn't have a designation for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Commanders, but he expects to wear a brace on the left knee that he injured during the Eagles' divisional-round win versus the Rams, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Hurts opened the week with a limited walkthrough Wednesday, but he followed it up with back-to-back uncapped sessions, thereby clearing him for Sunday's contest. The aforementioned health concern appeared to hinder him down the stretch this past Sunday, but he mentioned Friday that his left knee has "been progressing." As a result, the potential exists for Hurts' notable mobility to be scaled back somewhat, which could result in an even more run-focused game plan featuring standout running back Saquon Barkley.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Logs full practice Thursday

    Hurts (knee) practiced fully Thursday.

Hurts hurt his left knee during this past Sunday's divisional-round win versus the Rams. He operated with a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walkthrough, after which he said, "I'm progressing, taking it a day at a time," per Eric Edholm of NFL.com. Hurts proceeded to handle a full workload Thursday, clearing him up ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Commanders. In his one full game versus Washington this season back in Week 11, he completed 18 of 28 passes for 221 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions and took 10 carries for 39 yards and one TD.
