Skylar Thompson QB | PIT
Skylar Thompson: Moves back to practice squad
Miami reverted Thompson to its practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Tua Tagovailoa missed the Dolphins' Week 18 loss to the Jets due to a hip injury, and Thompson was consequently elevated from the practice squad to serve as the team's No. 2 quarterback. He didn't end up seeing any action, however, with Tyler Huntley playing all 70 of the team's offensive snaps under center. Thompson finished the regular season having gotten on the field for three contests, completing 21 of 33 passes for 187 yards with no TDs or INTs while adding one rush for four yards.

Chris Oladokun QB | KC
Chris Oladokun: Reverts to practice squad
Oladokun reverted to Kansas City's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Oladokun was elevated for Week 18 against Denver with Patrick Mahomes (ankle) given the day off to rest. Oladokun served as the No. 2 quarterback in the contest behind Carson Wentz and logged five offensive snaps, carrying once for five yards and taking a six-yard loss on a sack. Mahomes will almost certainly be back in action when Kansas City plays its next game in the AFC divisional round, so Oladokun isn't expected to be active for that contest.

Ben DiNucci QB | DEN
Saints' Ben DiNucci: Staying in NOLA
The Saints signed DiNucci to a reserve/future contract Monday.
DiNucci spent most of the 2024 regular season without a team after being cut by the Bills at the end of training camp in late August, but he managed to catch on with the Saints' practice squad Dec. 10. He hasn't seen regular-season action since 2020 with the Cowboys, but he put together a successful 2023 XFL campaign with the Seattle Sea Dragons and will have a chance to earn a spot on New Orleans' roster during training camp next summer.

Tanner Mordecai QB | SF
49ers' Tanner Mordecai: Gets reserve/future deal with SF
The 49ers signed Mordecai to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Mordecai signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in May, and after being waived near the end of training camp, latched on with the team's practice squad in August. He remained there throughout the campaign, and the organization liked what they saw from him enough to keep him around through the offseason. Mordecai will have a chance to compete for a spot on the active roster during training camp this summer.

Tyson Bagent QB | CHI
Bears' Tyson Bagent: Spends season as backup quarterback
Bagent appeared in four games for the Bears in 2024, playing 13 snaps and completing both of his pass attempts for 11 yards.
Bagent had a five-game stretch as the starting quarterback in 2023 for Chicago, completing 65.7 percent of his passes with a 3:6 TD:INT. Unless the Bears bring in competition, he should remain Caleb Williams' backup. Bagent will be entering the last year of his contract in 2025.

Austin Reed QB | CHI
Austin Reed: Stays in Windy City
Reed signed a reserve/future contract with the Bears on Monday, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports.
Reed signed with Chicago as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky, but he was unable to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster. Instead, he spent the past season on the Bears' practice squad. He'll now have another chance to earn a spot with Chicago in 2025.

The Jets signed Martinez to a reserve/future contract Monday.
Martinez spent his 2024 campaign with the Jets' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster in late August. Jayden Daniels QB | WAS
Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Soreness severity downplayed
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Monday that he's "not concerned" about the leg soreness that forced Daniels out of Sunday's 23-19 win over the Cowboys, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Daniels logged a precautionary exit at halftime during the Week 18 game against Dallas, but it doesn't sound like his status will be impacted at all heading into Sunday's wild-card matchup on the road at Tampa Bay. Washington's first official practice report of the week will be released Wednesday, at which point it will be revealed whether Daniels' leg soreness is still limiting him in any capacity, or whether he's already been cleared to take full reps.

Jalen Hurts QB | PHI
Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Remains in concussion protocol
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Monday that he has "no new information" on Hurts, who remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Hurts sat out Philadelphia's final two regular-season games while progressing through the concussion protocol, with his target return date seemingly being Sunday's wild-card round matchup against Green Bay. The Packers, meanwhile, removed Jordan Love (hand) in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bears, a contest that also saw Christian Watson (knee) sustain a season-ending ACL tear. Until Hurts is cleared to retake the practice field, top backup Kenny Pickett (ribs) will be in a position to handle first-team reps at quarterback.
