  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

Cowboys' Trey Lance: Emergency QB for Week 5

Lance (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers but will be available as the emergency third quarterback.

As has been the case all season, Lance will only see the field if Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush are both forced to leave Sunday's game.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Steelers' Russell Wilson: Remains emergency No. 3 QB

Wilson (calf) is inactive as the Steelers' emergency No. 3 quarterback for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Wilson has resumed mixing into 11-on-11 drills as he ramps things up in his recovery from a lingering calf injury, but he remained listed as a limited participant in practice this past week. Against Dallas, he'll remain the team's emergency No. 3 quarterback for the fifth straight contest, with Justin Fields slated to get another start at QB for the 3-1 Steelers and Kyle Allen available in a backup capacity.

  • Tyler Huntley QB | BAL

Dolphins' Tyler Huntley: Pedestrian numbers in win

Huntley completed 18 of 31 passes for 194 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed three times for seven yards in the Dolphins' 15-10 win over the Patriots on Sunday.

Huntley put together another lackluster performance overall, and unlike in a Monday night loss to the Titans six days earlier, he couldn't complement his passing production with his legs. However, Huntley did look smoother when dropping back, more than doubling the 96 passing yards he'd mustered versus Tennessee and connecting with the trio of Tyreek Hill, Jonnu Smith and Jaylen Waddle on 15 occasions. Given Miami was able to pull off the road win, Huntley figures to retain the starting job for a Week 7 road matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 20 following a Week 6 bye, the final game before Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is eligible to come off injured reserve.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Fires four TDs in wild OT win

Jackson completed 26 of 42 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns while adding 55 rushing yards on 12 carries in Sunday's 41-38 overtime win over the Bengals.

In a wild back-and-forth affair that saw the Ravens fall into a 31-21 hole early in the fourth quarter, Jackson led the comeback by tossing two of his four TDs over the final 10 minutes of regulation. It's his best passing performance since he hung 321 yards and five touchdowns on the Dolphins in Week 17 of last season. The two-time NFL MVP will take an impressive 9:1 TD:INT through five games, plus another two scores on the ground, into what could be another barn burner in Week 6 against rookie phenom Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.

  • Andy Dalton QB | CAR

Panthers' Andy Dalton: Pulled late in Week 5 loss

Dalton completed 18 of 28 passes for 136 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed once for three yards in the Panthers' 36-10 loss to the Bears on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, recovering both.

Dalton was ultimately replaced by Bryce Young with 4:15 remaining, but Joe Person of The Athletic reports that head coach Dave Canales has already committed to the veteran signal-caller as his Week 6 starter against the Falcons. Nevertheless, Dalton had his most pedestrian day yet as the Panthers' starting quarterback against the very tough defense of one of his former squads, and he was fortunate to avoid a multi-turnover game. Canales also had praise for the way Young played during his cameo, so if Dalton struggles again versus Atlanta, it's possible a switch is made for the second straight week.

  • C.J. Stroud QB | HOU

Texans' C.J. Stroud: Throws for 331 in Week 5 win

Stroud completed 28 of 38 passes for 331 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Bills. He added three rushing attempts for 27 yards and lost a fumble.

Stroud racked up 187 passing yards in the first half, highlighted by a 67-yard touchdown pass to Nico Collins, who later left the game due to a hamstring injury. Without his top target, the second-year quarterback fell apart in the fourth quarter, turning the ball over on consecutive possessions and then knocking the Texans out of field-goal range with an ill-timed intentional grounding penalty. Houston's defense and special teams helped closed out the win, while a 59-yard Ka'imi Fairbairn field goal on the game's final play ensured that Stroud's second straight game with more than 330 passing yards didn't go to waste. Even if Collins doesn't play against the Patriots in Week 6, Stroud still has the means to be effective with Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell as his top two wide receivers.

  • Jayden Daniels QB | WAS

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Overcomes slow start in win

Daniels completed 14 of 25 passes for 238 yards and one touchdown with one interception and added 82 rushing yards on 11 carries in Sunday's 34-13 win over the Browns.

While the Browns defense was able to force some misfires from Daniels early and hold him below a 60 percent completion rate for the first time in his career, the rookie QB still came up with plenty of big plays both through the air and on the ground, including a 41-yard dime in the end zone to Dyami Brown right before halftime that essentially put the game away. Daniels has produced eight TDs (four passing, four rushing) through his first five NFL games against only two turnovers, and in Week 6 he'll take on a Ravens defense that just got lit up for 392 yards and five touchdowns by Joe Burrow.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Poor showing in Week 5 loss

Watson completed 15 of 28 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-13 loss to the Commanders. He added 14 rushing yards on three carries.

For the fifth straight game to begin the 2024 season, Watson failed to reach 200 passing yards, and his only real highlight came on a 10-yard TD toss to Jordan Akins in fourth-quarter garbage time. Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that after the game, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that he had no intention of making a switch at quarterback, but the calls to replace Watson with Jameis Winston will only grow louder until he shows some ability to keep the offense moving. Next up for Watson is a Week 6 road matchup against a well-rested Eagles defense that will be coming off its bye.

  • Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Season-best effort in victory

Lawrence completed 28 of 34 passes for 371 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and rushed twice for four yards in the Jaguars' 37-34 win over the Colts on Sunday.

Looking for a little magic on his 25th birthday, Lawrence was able to help the Jaguars to their long-awaited first victory by turning in an elite performance. The 2021 first-round pick didn't toss his first touchdown of the afternoon until midway through the second quarter, connecting with star rookie Brian Thomas just past the midway point of the second quarter for an 85-yard catch-and-run score. Lawrence would come back with a four-yard TD toss to Brenton Strange early in the fourth quarter, and he subsequently helmed an eight-play, 39-yard game-winning march during which he recorded completions of nine, 11 and 14 yards. Lawrence did throw his second interception of the campaign at the Colts' two-yard line, but his overall body of work sends him into Jacksonville's annual London trip in Week 6 for a matchup against the Bears with plenty of momentum.

  • Caleb Williams QB | CHI

Bears' Caleb Williams: Over 300 yards with two TDs in win

Williams completed 20 of 29 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 36-10 win over the Panthers. He added five rushing attempts for 34 yards.

Williams accumulated 200 first-half passing yards, including touchdown passes of 34 and 30 yards to DJ Moore, as the Bears took a 27-7 lead into the locker room. The mobile rookie quarterback had a one-yard touchdown run nullified by a penalty in the third quarter, so he's still looking for his first career score on the ground, but Williams has tossed five passing TDs in his last three games after failing to produce one across his first two NFL starts. Williams will have a nice opportunity to keep rolling in Week 6, when the Bears face the 1-4 Jaguars in London.
