  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Officially questionable for Monday

The Eagles officially list Hurts (illness) as questionable for Monday's game against the Seahawks.

Hurts wasn't able to practice Saturday after falling ill, but the Eagles declined to give him a designation upon the release of their final Week 15 injury report. However, with his illness worsening overnight, the Eagles have elected to downgrade his status as Monday's game approaches, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Hurts traveled separately from the team to Seattle and is still hopeful to play against the Seahawks, but the Eagles may wait and see how the 25-year-old is feeling in pregame warmups before making a call on his status prior to Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hurts is forced to miss his first game of the season or is available only as an emergency backup, veteran Marcus Mariota would be in line for the starting role.

  • Geno Smith QB | NYJ

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Facing 'uphill battle' for Monday

Smith (groin) remains listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Eagles but appears to be facing an "uphill battle" to play, Jay Glazer reported on "Fox NFL Sunday."

According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, head coach Pete Carroll wasn't willing to volunteer much information about Smith's status for the matchup with the Eagles when he spoke to the media following the Seahawks' final practice of the week Saturday, beyond noting that the quarterback didn't experience any setbacks in his recovery from the groin injury he first suffered in a Dec. 7 practice. Even so, Smith never advanced beyond limited participation this week, and it's possible that the groin injury is still compromising his mobility to some degree. The Seahawks seem to be viewing Smith as a true game-day decision for Monday, though Glazer's report suggests that the signal-caller may be trending toward a second consecutive missed game. If that ends up being the case, Drew Lock would be in store for another start under center for Seattle.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Listed questionable for Monday

The Eagles have downgraded Hurts to questionable for Monday's game in Seattle after the quarterback's recovery from an illness worsened overnight, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Hurts, who initially didn't carry a designation for the contest, still hopes to play Monday and is traveling to Seattle separately from the team, according to Schefter. Either way, Hurts' status will need to be monitored closely ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hurts is unavailable Monday, Marcus Mariota would be in line to start in his place.

  • Lions' Teddy Bridgewater: Plans to retire after season

Bridgewater said in an interview with Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press posted Saturday that he plans to retire after the 2023 season.

After joining Detroit on a one-year, $3 million deal this offseason, Bridgewater has seen light usage behind starting quarterback Jared Goff. The 31-year-old's lone appearance of the season came back in Week 5, when he took three snaps at the tail end of a win over Carolina. Barring Goff missing time due to injury over the final three games or getting rested in Week 18 if the Lions' playoff position is solidified, Bridgewater looks as though he may have already seen the last of his extended NFL action. Since entering the league as a first-round pick of the Vikings in 2014, Bridgewater has completed 66.4 percent of his passes for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns and 47 interceptions while adding 844 yards and 11 scores on the ground across 79 career games with Minnesota, New Orleans, Carolina, Denver, Miami and Detroit.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Broncos' Russell Wilson: Two touchdowns in blowout loss

Wilson completed 18 of 32 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday's 42-17 loss to the Lions. He added seven rushes for six yards and an additional score while also losing a fumble.

Wilson had an ugly start to the game, completing only four of 10 passes for 69 yards in the first two quarters. He ended up with a decent fantasy performance thanks to garbage time, as the Broncos were down by three scores for nearly the entire second half. He started that effort with a three-yard touchdown pass to Lil'Jordan Humphrey early in the third quarter and then snuck into the end zone on a one-yard rush midway through the fourth quarter. Wilson has multiple touchdowns in each of his last four games, but this marked only the second time in that span that he's topped 200 passing yards. The Broncos will likely remain reliant upon their run game, particularly in a Week 16 matchup against a weak Patriots offense.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Lights up Broncos for five TDs

Goff completed 24 of 34 passes for 278 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 42-17 win over the Broncos.

Goff entered the game in something of a slump, as he had multiple turnovers in three of his last four matchups, with the Lions going only 2-2 in that span. Those concerns ended in spectacular fashion, as he matched his career high with five touchdown passes in a game and also didn't turn the ball over. Goff's scores came primarily from short range -- his longest was 19 yards -- but he still completed seven passes of at least 20 yards, good for a season high. While this was an impressive performance, Goff's career has been marked by inefficiency, so there's no guarantee he'll come close to matching this effort in Week 16 against the Vikings.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: May be medically cleared this week

Rodgers (Achilles) is in line to receive medical clearance to play this coming week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Since Rodgers tore his left Achilles' tendon four snaps into the season back on Sept. 11 against the Bills, he's embarked on an unprecedented recovery effort. He was spotted throwing on the field before a Week 6 win against the Eagles, which he did multiple times until the Jets designated him for return from injured reserve Nov. 29. Rodgers has been able to practice for three weeks in a row at this point, logging work in consecutive sessions the last two weeks. New York needs a win Sunday at Miami to keep its faint playoff hopes alive, and if that comes to pass, Rodgers seemingly could find himself back on the Jets' active roster by Wednesday, when his 21-day evaluation window will come to a close. Whether or not he's allowed to play in a game remains to be seen, but his stated goal has been a return for a Week 16 matchup with the Commanders on Dec. 24. As long as Rodgers is sidelined, though, Zach Wilson will continue to direct the offense.

  • Mason Rudolph QB | PIT

Steelers' Mason Rudolph: Enters Saturday's loss in relief

Rudolph completed two of three passes for three yards in Saturday's 30-13 loss to the Colts.

Rudolph entered the game late in the fourth quarter in relief of Mitch Trubisky, so there's little to take away from his performance. However, coach Mike Tomlin declined to name a starting quarterback for a Week 16 matchup against the Bengals, per Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com. If Kenny Pickett (ankle) is unable to return, Rudolph could draw his first start of the campaign for Pittsburgh's final run at making the postseason.

  • Colts' Gardner Minshew: Tosses three TDs in Week 15

Minshew completed 18 of 28 passes for 215 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions and also had two carries for no yards during Saturday's 30-13 win against the Steelers.

Despite losing his top two available skill-position players in wide receiver Michael Pittman (concussion) and running back Zack Moss (arm) in the first half, Minshew tossed a trio of scores, marking the fifth time he's done so in his 46 career appearances. Minshew connected with eight different players, but only three of his 18 completions went for 20-plus yards, dampening his yards per attempt to 7.7. While there's a chance RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) returns to action Week 16, Minshew again may be working with a compromised skill group Sunday, Dec. 24 in Atlanta considering the two injuries that befell the Colts on Saturday.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Steelers' Mitch Trubisky: Benched late against Colts

Trubisky was benched late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Colts, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.

Trubisky led the Steelers to 13 points in the first quarter, but he couldn't muster any scoring drives for the rest of his time leading the offense. He also threw a pair of interceptions, the latter of which likely clinched a win for the Colts. Mason Rudolph will enter the game in his place, leaving Pittsburgh's quarterback situation very ambiguous heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Bengals.
