Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
Raiders' Jimmy Garoppolo: Returns to practice
Garoppolo (concussion) was spotted on the field for practice Thursday, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
Garoppolo sat out Wednesday's practice after sustaining the concussion in this past Sunday's loss to the Steelers, but his return to the field Thursday bodes well for his chances of playing this weekend against the Chargers. Later Thursday, the Raiders will release their second Week 4 injury report, which will reveal the extent of Garoppolo's practice participation.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Saints' Derek Carr: Sitting out practice again
Carr (shoulder) is a spectator for Thursday's practice, Ross Jackson of SI.com reports.
Though the Saints haven't officially ruled Carr out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, he's being viewed as week-to-week and seems likely to miss at least one contest while he continues to recover from an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, which he sustained in the team's Week 3 loss to the Packers. With Carr sitting out a second practice in a row, Jameis Winston will direct the Saints' first-team offense once again and looks poised to pick up the start versus Tampa Bay this weekend.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Panthers' Andy Dalton: Returning to backup duties
Dalton is expected to resume backup quarterback duties Sunday against the Vikings with Bryce Young (ankle) set to return from a one-game absence to star the Week 4 contest, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Young was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, clearing up any concern about the health of his ankle. In Young's absence in the Panthers' 37-27 loss to the Seahawks in Week 3, Dalton completed 34 of 58 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns while adding two carries for 11 yards. Dalton remains one of the top backups in the league.

Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Full practice Wednesday
Mahomes (ankle) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
Mahomes had his right ankle rolled up on in the waning moments of the first half this past Sunday against the Bears. He was able to stay in the game and then led the offense after the mid-game break, and despite getting subbed out early in the 41-10 blowout win, he still completed 24 of 33 passes for 272 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while notching 28 more yards on three carries. With an uncapped session under his belt to kick off Week 4 prep, Mahomes is good to go ahead of Sunday's visit to the Jets.

Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Full participant in walkthrough
Burrow (calf) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
Burrow hasn't been his usual dynamic self this season since suffering a calf injury in the early days of training camp. After aggravating the injury late in Week 2, Burrow was listed as questionable heading into Monday's game against the Rams, but he ultimately suited up. While helping to guide Cincinnati to a 19-16 win, Burrow completed 26 of 49 passes for 259 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. The Bengals held a walk-through practice Wednesday, so Burrow's listed activity level should be taken with a grain of salt, especially after head coach Zac Taylor told Ben Baby of ESPN.com that Burrow's workload will be watched closely each day this week. With that knowledge, Burrow's status should continue to be monitored ahead of Sunday's game at Tennessee.
-
Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Limited practice Wednesday
Watson (shoulder) was officially listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Petrak relayed earlier Wednesday that Watson would be resting his right shoulder in practice, but the quarterback was apparently able to take part in enough on-field work to get the "limited" tag. Throwing 102 passes over Cleveland's first three games has led to some shoulder fatigue for Watson, but he's not believed to be at risk of missing Sunday's home game against the Ravens.
-
Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Logs full practice
Richardson (concussion) was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday.
After being diagnosed with a concussion upon exiting the Colts' Week 2 win over the Texans, Richardson didn't practice last week before sitting out this past Sunday's overtime win over the Ravens. According to JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site, head coach Shane Steichen said Wednesday that Richardson hasn't yet cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, but the signal-caller's return to a full session Wednesday has him trending toward being available Sunday against the Rams.
-
Derek Carr QB | NO
Saints' Derek Carr: Not ready to practice
Carr (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Carr's lack of practice activity comes as little surprise, two days after Saints head coach Dennis Allen said the starting quarterback is week-to-week with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. He wasn't able to return to Sunday's 18-17 loss to the Packers after his early exit, leaving Jameis Winston under center for a second-half collapse in which the Saints produced four punts and one missed field goal on their final five drives. Winston nonetheless profiles as one of the better backups in the league, and he looks on track to make at least one start while Carr recovers from his shoulder injury.
-
Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
Raiders' Jimmy Garoppolo: Remains in protocol
Garoppolo (concussion) remains in the NFL's concussion protocol as of Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, Garoppolo was unable to practice in any capacity Wednesday. The quarterback underwent concussion testing after Sunday's loss to the Steelers, and he will have to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol in order to suit up this weekend against the Chargers. Head coach Josh McDaniels said veteran Brian Hoyer and rookie Aidan O'Connell will both be preparing to start in the event that Garoppolo isn't able to clear the protocol ahead of the Week 4 contest.
-
Bryce Young QB | CAR
Panthers' Bryce Young: Set to play after full practice
Young (ankle) was a full practice participant Wednesday, putting him on track to start Sunday's game against the Vikings, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Carolina's passing game fared better Week 3 with Andy Dalton stepping in for the injured Young in a 37-27 loss to Seattle, though Dalton drew a more favorable matchup than the rookie had in Weeks 1 and 2, when he faced Atlanta and New Orleans. Now ostensibly healthy, Young will get his shot at taking on a struggling defense, facing a Vikings pass defense that has given up 27.3 points and 261.7 passing yards per game through the first three weeks of the season.
