Jets' Zach Wilson: Taking over for Rodgers
Wilson will direct the Jets offense Sunday in Dallas and beyond after the team confirmed that Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles during Monday's overtime win against the Bills, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Rodgers lasted just four plays before being lost for the season. Wilson then took over New York's offense and put together an uneven performance, going 14-for-21 with 140 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception plus four carries for six yards and two sacks taken for 13 yards lost. Coach Robert Saleh and company will move forward with Wilson at quarterback, but the team could bring in a veteran option as soon as this week to bolster the depth chart. Currently, Tim Boyle is the only other healthy signal-caller in the organization, and he's situated on the practice squad.

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Achilles tear confirmed
The Jets have confirmed via an MRI on Tuesday that Rodgers suffered a complete tear of his left Achilles' tendon during Monday's 22-16 overtime win against the Bills, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Rodgers' torn Achilles brings an abrupt end to his inaugural campaign with the Jets, as he went down on the team's fourth offensive play. His absence severely undermines the fantasy upside of the Jets' skill-position players, most notably Garrett Wilson, as well as Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman, Randall Cobb and Tyler Conklin. Coach Robert Saleh has already said that New York will proceed with Zach Wilson as the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, but it nonetheless wouldn't be surprising if the team opts to explore bringing in another veteran option. The severity of Rodgers' injury also clouds his future with the Jets, as even with roughly 12 months to rehab before the 2024 season begins, there's no guarantee of a full recovery for the 39-year-old.

Jets' Zach Wilson: Set to start rest of season
Coach Robert Saleh said Wilson will "be the guy" under center for the Jets for the rest of the season after Aaron Rodgers suffered what the team believes is an Achilles injury during Monday's 22-16 overtime win versus the Bills, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Wilson stepped in for Rodgers on the Jets' fifth offensive play after the former Packer left the game. Wilson had his usual struggles, completing 14 of 21 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception, rushing four times for six yards and getting sacked twice for a loss of 13 yards. His TD to Garrett Wilson with less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter tied the contest at 13-13, although the receiver bailed out his quarterback with a highlight-reel effort to reel in a poor throw, and the offense didn't need to take a snap in overtime due to Xavier Gipson's 65-yard punt return for the game-winning score. Moving forward, Wilson the QB will have plenty of skill-position talent to work with in addition to Wilson the wideout, including Breece Hall, Dalvin Cook and Allen Lazard.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Four turnovers in Week 1 loss
Allen completed 29 of 41 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in Monday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Jets. He added six rushing attempts for 36 yards and fumbled twice, losing one.
Allen had a would-be third fumble returned for a Jets touchdown in the second quarter, but it was erased on a questionable ruling of his forward progress having stopped. He threw an interception two plays later, then bounced back with a five-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs on the next drive. The Bills appeared to have the game well in hand with a 10-point halftime lead and Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) ruled out, but Allen let New York back in with a pair of second-half interceptions and a fourth-quarter fumble that led to the Jets' go-ahead field goal with 1:48 remaining in regulation. To his credit, Allen managed to get the Bills in range for a game-tying 50-yard field goal in the final seconds of regulation, but the Jets won it on a punt return touchdown in overtime after Buffalo went three-and-out. Had his first fumble counted, Allen would have set a new career high with five turnovers, but he tied his existing high as is. On the bright side, Buffalo doesn't have to face the stout Jets defense again until Week 11, and Allen should get back to his usual effectiveness as a dual-threat dynamo in the Week 2 home opener against the Raiders.

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Likely has Achilles injury
The Jets believe that Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury during Monday's 22-16 overtime win against the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Rodgers got injured on the Jets' fourth offensive play and needed assistance reaching the sidelines before being carted to the locker room. X-rays came back negative, but the 39-year-old quarterback was seen wearing a walking boot on his left foot. When combined with the fact coach Robert Saleh called Zach Wilson the team's starting quarterback the rest of the season, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Tuesday's MRI likely will confirm the worst for Rodgers.

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Will not return
Rodgers (ankle) will not return to Monday's game against the Bills.
The good news is Rodgers' X-rays came back negative, but the injury still is severe enough to keep him out for the remainder of the game. That leaves Zach Wilson as the Jets' only healthy option under center for the rest of the game.

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Seen in walking boot
Rodgers (ankle) underwent X-rays on Monday and was subsequently seen wearing a walking boot as he made his way to the locker room, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Rodgers was able to limp off the field with an ankle injury before getting carted to the locker room. There is no word on the result of the X-rays, but him being in a walking boot does not bode well for his chances to return. Still, the team is labeling him as questionable to return.

Brett Rypien QB | MIN
Brett Rypien: Reverts to practice squad
Rypien has reverted to the Rams' practice squad, per the NFL's transaction log.
Although he was elevated to Los Angeles' practice squad Saturday, Rypien never saw the field. He served as Matthew Stafford's backup under center, and his services were ultimately never needed on the field. The quarterback could ultimately be called up again for Week 2 depending on Stetson Bennett's (shoulder) status.
