  • Joshua Dobbs QB | NE

Joshua Dobbs: Returns to practice squad

Dobbs reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Dobbs was elevated from the practice squad for the first time since joining Detroit's practice squad two weeks ago, serving as one of the team's three active quarterbacks alongside starter Jared Goff and backup Nate Sudfeld. However, Goff went on to play all 68 of the team's offensive snaps as expected. Dobbs will now be eligible for two more game-day activations while with the Lions this season.

  • Mike White QB | CAR

Jets' Mike White: Limited on practice estimate

White (ribs) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

At this stage, White, who is dealing with fractured ribs, still is being evaluated by doctors, which clouds his status in advance of Thursday night's game against the Jaguars. For now, coach Robert Saleh hasn't confirmed the team's starting QB for the contest, but on a short week, White could be hard-pressed to be cleared. If so, Zach Wilson would be in line to draw the assignment Week 16.

  • Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Listed as DNP on practice estimate

Lawrence (toe) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Lawrence has been managing a sprained left big toe for three weeks running, sitting out at least one practice during both Week 14 and 15 prep before getting in some on-field work and heading into back-to-back contests listed as questionable. Still, he was able to play through it, completing 68 percent of his passes for 686 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception while turning six carries into 28 yards and one more score over the last two games. Lawrence likely will have a cap on his reps with a short turnaround for Thursday's visit to the Jets and again may be listed as questionable for that matchup, but it seems unlikely he won't actually play.

  • Anthony Brown QB | BUF

Anthony Brown: Returns to practice squad

Brown reverted to the Ravens' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Brown was activated to serve as Baltimore's backup quarterback for the second game in a row with Lamar Jackson out due to a PCL sprain. However, the rookie never saw the field behind Tyler Huntley, who once again started in place of Jackson. Brown will now be eligible for one more elevation from the practice squad this season, which the Ravens will likely exercise should Jackson remain sidelined against Atlanta on Saturday.

  • Commanders' Taylor Heinicke: Remains starter for now

Heinicke remains the Commanders' starting QB ahead of Saturday's game against the 49ers, John Keim of ESPN reports.

In the wake of Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Giants, coach Ron Rivera noted that the team plans to stick with Heinicke for now, but added that he'd consider pivoting to Carson Wentz at some point if the team doesn't "get back on track." Wentz, who began the season as the team's starter, suffered a broken right ring finger on Oct. 13 and last suited up for game action Week 6, but he's back from a stint on IR and suited up Week 15 as Heinicke's backup.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Diagnosed with shoulder sprain

Hurts suffered a sprained right shoulder during Sunday's win over the Bears, and the quarterback's status for the Eagles' Week 16 game in Dallas is uncertain, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

According to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com, Hurts underwent X-rays after Sunday's contest that revealed the issue, and while multiple reports suggest the issue isn't a long-term one, the quarterback could be sidelined for one or two games, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. The injury occurred late in the third quarter on a rushing attempt to the right side, but Hurts stayed in the game and proceeded to lead a scoring drive in the fourth quarter that he capped off with a one-yard touchdown run followed by a successful two-point conversion run. The Eagles are in good position at the top of the NFC standings, so they certainly can play it safe with the NFL MVP candidate, though we also imagine they would like to try and secure the important top seed in the NFC. If Hurts is ruled out for Saturday's road matchup with the Cowboys, Gardner Minshew would be in line to make his first start of the season.

  • Colt McCoy QB | ARI

    Cardinals' Colt McCoy: Considered day-to-day

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday that McCoy (concussion) is day-to-day, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Kingsbury confirmed after Sunday's loss to Denver that McCoy was in concussion protocols, so the day-to-day designation isn't surprising, though it does suggest the quarterback will have a chance to suit up against Tampa Bay. However, Arizona's practice reports could provide further clarity on McCoy's upcoming availability. If McCoy remains sidelined, Trace McSorley and David Blough would be the Cardinals' top healthy quarterbacks, as Kyler Murray (knee) already has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

  • Mike White QB | CAR

Jets' Mike White: Still isn't cleared

Coach Robert Saleh revealed Monday that White (ribs) has yet to be cleared for contact, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, so White is unlikely to play Thursday against the Jaguars.

White is dealing with fractured ribs, so while he feels good enough to play, the medical staff has to wait for the risk of further injury to subside before clearing him. Barring a sudden turnaround, Zach Wilson will be tasked with starting a second consecutive game for the 7-7 Jets, whose playoff hopes hang in the balance.

  • Zach Wilson QB | NO

Jets' Zach Wilson: Likely starter Thursday

Wilson is likely to start Thursday against the Jaguars, as fellow quarterback Mike White (ribs) has yet to be cleared for contact, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Wilson threw for 317 yards while filling in for White in Week 15, but the Jets lost, 20-17, to the Lions as Wilson missed multiple easy throws against the vulnerable Detroit secondary. Thursday's game basically is a must-win for the 7-7 Jets, so White likely would play in the unlikely scenario that he gets medical clearance in the next few days.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Could miss time due to ankle

Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that Tannehill (ankle) will remain the starter Saturday against the Texans if he's healthy enough to play, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Tannehill left the Week 15 loss to the Chargers with an ankle injury but later returned. Vrabel's comment suggests there's some doubt over whether Tannehill -- who has battled numerous ankle injuries this season -- can play through the latest issue without missing some game action, so the quarterback's status will be worth monitoring in practice over the coming days. If Tannehill needs additional time to heal, rookie Malik Willis would step in against Houston, whom Willis defeated as the starter Week 8 thanks to 219 rushing yards from Derrick Henry.
