  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: In line to log practice reps

Tannehill (ankle/illness), who was inactive this past Sunday against the Texans, is in line to take some practice reps Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

According to Wyatt, the quarterback confirmed Wednesday that it was his ankle injury rather than the illness that keep him off the field in the Week 8 win. With a limited practice on tap, Tannehill has a chance to return to action this weekend against Kansas City, but if he ends up sidelined again, Malik Willis would be in store for another start.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Still on track for Week 13 start

Browns general manager Andrew Berry said Wednesday that Watson (suspension) will start Week 13 against the Texans on Dec. 4, the first game the quarterback will be eligible to make his Cleveland debut, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Though Berry noted that fill-in starter Jacoby Brissett has been "everything we hoped" while directing the offense through the team's first eight games, the Browns didn't trade for Watson and then sign him to a lavish extension to have him sit on the bench. Berry's comments thus don't come as a surprise, but they at least indicate that Watson has been able to stay on track in his preparation for returning to the field since he began serving his 11-game suspension following the preseason. Per the terms of his suspension, Watson was able to return to the Browns' team facility Oct. 10 to take part in meetings and workouts, but he's not eligible to resume practicing until Week 11. Assuming the Browns' plan to have him start Week 13 doesn't change, Watson will be making his first regular-season appearance since Jan. 3, 2021, as he sat out the entire past season while he was still a member of the Texans.

  • Jake Luton QB | LV

Jake Luton: Let go from practice squad

The Saints cut Luton from their practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Luton is now looking for another home following the Saints' decision to let the 26-year-old go Tuesday. Luton hasn't seen game action since 2020 with Jacksonville, so he'll likely serve as added depth for his next suitor.

  • Reid Sinnett QB | CIN

Reid Sinnett: Cut from practice squad

Miami cut Sinnett from its practice squad Tuesday.

Sinnett joined Miami's practice squad at the beginning of October, but he never saw the active roster despite Tua Tagovailoa, Teddy Bridgewater and Skylar Thompson all being injured at some point. Sinnett will look to find a new opportunity elsewhere, but it's certainly a possibility he returns to the Dolphins organization eventually.

  • Browns' Jacoby Brissett: Efficient in Halloween win

Brissett completed 17 of 22 passes for 278 yards and one touchdown in Monday's 32-13 win over the Bengals. He added six carries for 12 yards and another touchdown in addition to losing one fumble.

Brissett fumbled while taking a sack in the second quarter but guided the Browns to an 11-0 halftime lead despite that turnover. He then stretched that lead to 18-0 with a three-yard touchdown run on the first possession of the third quarter before putting the game firmly out of reach on the following series with a four-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper. Brissett has posted a 7:5 TD:INT through the air while adding two rushing touchdowns to lead the Browns to a 3-5 record heading into the team's Week 9 bye.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Haunted by Chase's absence

Burrow completed 25 of 35 passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Monday's 32-13 loss to the Browns. He added two yards on one rushing attempt and lost a fumble.

Burrow had an interception in the first quarter and a fumble in the second as the Bengals were shut out in the first half. He finally stemmed the bleeding with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd early in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late at that point, as the Bengals were trailing 25-0. A 41-yard jump ball touchdown to Tee Higgins on the following possession brought Burrow's final output up to a respectable level, but this performance suggests the QB's fantasy managers will continue to be in for a bumpy ride any time he faces a dangerous pass rush, especially while his favorite target Ja'Marr Chase recovers from a hip injury. Chase won't be back in Week 9 against the Panthers, but the Carolina defense is near the bottom of the league in sacks and pressure rate.

  • Logan Woodside QB | ARI

Logan Woodside: Back to practice squad Monday

Woodside reverted to the Titans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Woodside was called up to the active roster ahead of Sunday's 17-10 win over the Texans to serve as the backup quarterback behind Malik Willis, who started in place of injured signal-caller Ryan Tannehill (ankle/illness). Woodside did not ultimately play in this one-score contest, and he'll now be eligible for two more elevations from Tennessee's practice squad this season.

  • P.J. Walker QB | SEA

Panthers' PJ Walker: Will draw another start in Week 9

Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks said Monday that Walker will start again this Sunday against the Bengals, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Walker drew a second straight start Week 8, but aside from a 62-yard Hail Mary touchdown at the end of regulation, the undrafted quarterback struggled mightily against Atlanta's poor defense. Baker Mayfield has moved past his high-ankle sprain, while Sam Darnold (ankle) remains out, though he was designated to return from IR ahead of Week 7. Despite encouraging developments from Mayfield and Darnold, Wilks will continue to roll with Walker for at least one more week. During his two starts, Walker has completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 494 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, which was returned for a TD.

  • Raiders' Jarrett Stidham: Eight completions in blowout loss

Stidham completed eight of 13 passes for 72 yards in Sunday's 24-0 loss to the Saints.

Stidham relieved starting quarterback Derek Carr for the final drive of the contest after the Raiders had already fallen down by 24 points. Stidham managed to complete eight pass attempts in his limited playing time, but the offense still failed to make a mark on the scoreboard. He figures to retain backup duties against the Jaguars in Week 9.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Throws for two scores in loss

Rodgers (thumb) completed 19 of 30 pass attempts for 203 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.

Rodgers entered this tough matchup without several key receivers, and he lost de facto No. 3 wideout Christian Watson (concussion) in the first quarter. Excuses aside, it was another subpar fantasy day from the decorated quarterback. Rodgers has yet to eclipse 300 yards in a single game this season, and he no longer provides value as a runner at his advanced age (20 total rushing yards in 2022). The 38-year-old's arm still appears to have plenty of life left in it, but the current state of Green Bay's receiving corps limits his fantasy upside. That said, Rodgers could be in line for his best fantasy performance in Week 9 when he faces a Lions team that seems to get involved in high-scoring shootouts on a weekly basis.
