Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Nursing soreness ahead of TNF game
Coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Tagovailoa is dealing with back and ankle soreness and was noncommittal about his status for Thursday's game against the Bengals, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Tagovailoa briefly exited during the second quarter of Sunday's narrow win over the Bills, when he stumbled to his feet following a sack, but McDaniel confirms that the quarterback isn't in the concussion protocol, per Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post. It sounds like the Dolphins will monitor Tagovailoa throughout practice this week before making a decision about his status for Thursday. If Tagovailoa can't go on a short week, it would fall to Teddy Bridgewater to attempt to keep Miami's offense on track.

Brian Hoyer QB | LV
Patriots' Brian Hoyer: Could fill in for Jones
Hoyer is a candidate to start Sunday's game against the Pacers with Mac Jones dealing with a high-ankle sprain that is likely to keep him sidelined for the contest, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Though a timetable for Jones' injury recovery hasn't yet been outlined, Hoyer appears on track to fill in at quarterback for the team Week 4, at a minimum. If that's the case, the veteran signal-caller will be an option for those who roster Jones or who play in two-QB fantasy formats.

Will Grier QB | CAR
Cowboys' Will Grier: Elevated for MNF
Grier has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of Monday's game against the Giants.
Grier will join Dallas' active roster for the second week in a row as the backup to Cooper Rush. Grier didn't see the field in Week 2 against the Bengals while Rush led Dallas to victory sans Dak Prescott (thumb).

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: High-ankle sprain confirmed
Jones suffered a left high-ankle sprain during Sunday's loss to the Ravens, further tests confirmed Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Patriots haven't yet offered an official recovery timetable for the second-year quarterback, but Jones doesn't seem like a realistic candidate to suit up Week 4 at this point. New England reportedly hopes that Jones won't require surgery, which would help his chances of returning later this season, but for now Brian Hoyer seems set to draw the start this Sunday versus Green Bay. The Patriots also have rookie fourth-round pick Bailey Zappe on hand to act as Hoyer's backup.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Two costly turnovers in loss
Garoppolo completed 18 of 29 pass attempts for 211 yards, a touchdown, an interception and a lost fumble in Sunday's 11-10 loss to the Broncos.
Garoppolo got off to a good start Sunday, leading his team to an early touchdown on the second offensive drive of the game. That's about where the positive reviews end, as the popular quarterback looked like his old, mistake-prone self for the remainder of the contest. Garoppolo's night can best be summed up when he mishandled a snap early in the second half, then tried to save the broken play by throwing it right at a defender for a would-be pick-six had he not already stepped out of his own end zone for a safety prior to throwing the errant pass. To make matters worse for the 1-2 49ers, All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) went down on the aforementioned broken play, which does not bode well for Garoppolo and Co. heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Rams' vaunted defensive front on Monday Night Football.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Broncos' Russell Wilson: Clutch finish to ugly game
Wilson completed 20 of 33 pass attempts for 184 yards and no touchdowns while adding 17 yards on six carries in Sunday's 11-10 win over the 49ers.
Wilson struggled against San Francisco's fierce pass rush all night, even hearing a chorus of boos from the home crowd following multiple consecutive three-and-out drives. The veteran QB seems to be trying a game-manager role with his new club, and the results have not been pretty through three games. It wasn't until Denver's final drive of the game that Wilson took it upon himself to use his legs to escape pressure like he did in his prime in Seattle and will his team to victory. Perhaps the heroic effort will spur Wilson to get back to his old ways of extending plays with his legs and taking deeper shots downfield, because the former fantasy star is posting stat lines best fit for the waiver wire since joining the Broncos. The Raiders' porous defense, which Wilson and Denver will see next week, presents a prime opportunity to finally deliver on the preseason hype.

Davis Mills QB | HOU
Texans' Davis Mills: Two costly picks
Mills completed 20 of 32 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 23-20 loss against the Bears.
Mills was decent for much of the game, and he spread targets around to many of his pass catchers. He led the Texans on a pair of touchdown drives, the first of which he capped with a four-yard touchdown toss to Jordan Akins. However, he also threw an interception with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter that led directly to the game-winning field goal for the Bears. Mills has reached 240 passing yards in two of three games this season, but he also has only three total touchdowns.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Manages Titans to victory
Tannehill completed 19 of 27 pass attempts for 264 yards, one touchdown and one interception Sunday against the Raiders. He added a rushing touchdown.
Tannehill bounced back after a dreadful Week 2 performance at Buffalo and managed the Titans to their first win of the season. He spread targets fairly evenly among his pass catchers but showed particular rapport with Robert Woods by connecting on gains of 41, 21 and 16 yards. Tannehill also delivered a pair of short scores, first on a two-yard toss to Geoff Swaim and then by sneaking in on a one-yard rush on his own. On most occasions, Tannehill remains an efficient passer but on limited volume.
-
Jared Goff QB | DET
Lions' Jared Goff: Loses some efficiency
Goff completed 25 of 41 passes for 277 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Vikings.
Goff was excellent in the first half, racking up 179 yards and a touchdown on 24 attempts. However, he slowed significantly in the final two quarters and failed to throw for multiple touchdowns in a game for the first time this season. He's done a good job taking care of the ball three games into the campaign, but otherwise, his 6.7 yards per attempt and 58.9 completion percentage look remarkably similar to his numbers last year with the Lions.

Justin Herbert QB | LAC
Chargers' Justin Herbert: Uneven performance in loss
Herbert (ribs) completed 25 of his 45 attempts for 297 yards and one touchdown to go along with one interception in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Jaguars. He also lost a fumble.
Consecutive turnovers to begin the second quarter put the Chargers offense into overdrive in an effort to catch up from a two-score deficit, but inefficiencies only seemed to pile up from there as the game quickly got out of control. Herbert suffered fractured rib cartilage in last Thursday's loss to the Chiefs and needed a pain-killing injection in order to be cleared for the Week 3 contest, but he mostly looked like himself albeit with noticeably less mobility outside the pocket. Expect the Chargers and Herbert to continue to manage the rib issue with a methodical practice regime for the coming weeks, although reinforcements could be on the way soon as Keenan Allen, who has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring injury, should have a chance to play in Week 4.
