Matthew Stafford QB | LAR
Rams' Matthew Stafford: OK after elbow procedure, injection
Stafford underwent a procedure on his right elbow earlier in the offseason in addition to receiving an anti-inflammatory injection, but the quarterback reiterated a few days ago that he expects to have "no limitations" heading into Thursday's season opener versus the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Rams head coach Sean McVay had previously confirmed earlier in the summer that Stafford received the injection, which McVay described as a treatment method that was "a little bit abnormal for a quarterback." Schefter's report of Stafford requiring a procedure for his throwing elbow is new information, but the 34-year-old supposedly feels better heading into the 2022 campaign than he did at this point in 2021, when he played through lingering pain in the elbow. The injury wasn't apparent in his production, as Stafford tied his career high with 41 touchdown passes while averaging a strong 8.1 yards per attempt during the regular season before guiding the Rams to a Super Bowl title in February. Stafford wasn't included on the Rams' injury report leading up to Thursday's opener, and McVay mentioned that any potential management plan for the quarterback's elbow will be "no different" from 2021.

Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Cleared for Week 1
Burrow (appendix) isn't listed on the Bengals' Week 1 injury report released Wednesday.
Burrow, who underwent an appendectomy July 26, is thus in line to start Sunday's regular-season opener against the Steelers. Another player whose name is absent from the Bengals' initial injury report is Tee Higgins (shoulder), which ensures that Burrow will have his top three wide receivers (Ja'Marr Chase, Higgins and Tyler Boyd) available this weekend.

Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Clear of injury report
Taylor (back) isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Taylor suffered a back injury during the Giants' preseason finale, but as expected, he'll will be available for Week 1. The veteran quarterback is set to operate as the primary backup to Daniel Jones during Sunday's season opener against the Titans.

Matt Corral QB | MIN
Panthers' Matt Corral: Undergoes foot surgery
Corral recently underwent successful surgery on his left foot and returned to Carolina's team facility Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Corral is still likely to miss the entire 2022 campaign after being placed on injured reserve, but it's an encouraging sign to see him in good spirits following Lisfranc surgery. The rookie third-round pick faces a lengthly rehab but is expected to be healthy by next year's training camp. With Sam Darnold (ankle) and Baker Mayfield both set for free agency this offseason, it's possible Corral gets a chance to compete for the starting quarterback role in 2023, though Carolina will likely bring in competition via the daft or free agency.

Colt McCoy QB | ARI
Cardinals' Colt McCoy: Strains calf, placed on IR
The Cardinals placed McCoy on injured reserve Wednesday due to a calf strain, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
McCoy's injury will keep him out at least four contests. In a corresponding move, Arizona promoted Trace McSorley from the practice squad, setting him up to serve as starting quarterback Kyler Murray's backup through Week 4.

Trace McSorley QB | WAS
Cardinals' Trace McSorley: Added to active roster
Arizona signed McSorley off its practice squad Wednesday.
In a corresponding move, the team placed Colt McCoy (calf) on injured reserve, meaning that he'll miss at least four games. As a result, McSorley is slated to back up Kyler Murray early on this season.

Zach Wilson QB | NO
Jets' Zach Wilson: Not in line to start until Week 4
Head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that Wilson (knee) isn't expected to be available to start until Week 4 versus the Steelers, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
In the meantime, Joe Flacco is slated to start at quarterback for the Jets early on this season, beginning with Sunday's Week 1matchup with the Ravens. Per Saleh, Wilson won't go on injured reserve, which will enable the signal-caller to log some practice time prior to his return to the starting lineup. However, Wilson isn't in line to practice this week, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes that there haven't been any setbacks with Wilson, who is making progress in his recovery from an arthroscopic meniscus procedure.

Reid Sinnett QB | CIN
Reid Sinnett: Cut from practice squad
The Eagles released Sinnett from their practice squad Wednesday.
As expected, Sinnett lost the backup competition to veteran Gardner Minshew, but he rejoined the Eagles on a practice squad deal. However, the 25-year-old now finds himself as a free agent heading into Week 1 of the 2022 season. Sinnett has yet to make his regular-season NFL debut.

Jake Luton QB | LV
Jake Luton: Joins New Orleans' practice squad
The Saints signed Luton to their practice squad Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Luton appeared in two preseason games with Jacksonville, totaling 186 yards and one interception, and was waived ahead of the 53-man roster deadline. Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton are cemented as the top two quarterbacks in New Orleans, so Luton will operate as an emergency option on the practice squad.

Mason Rudolph QB | PIT
Steelers' Mason Rudolph: Will be inactive Week 1
Rudolph will begin the season as the Steelers' No. 3 quarterback and is expected to be inactive for Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Bengals, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
After he was mislabeled as the Steelers' No. 2 quarterback on the Week 1 depth chart the team released Tuesday, Rudolph has since been moved to the third spot behind expected starter Mitch Trubisky and rookie first-round pick Kenny Pickett. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that he doesn't anticipate dressing three quarterbacks Sunday, leaving Rudolph as the odd man out. Barring injuries to the two players above him, Rudolph could be a regular on the inactive list all season.
