Brian Robinson Jr. RB | ATL
Commanders' Brian Robinson: Salvages day with TD
Robinson carried the ball eight times for 23 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 14-7 loss to the Giants.
He also failed to catch his only target. Robinson accounted for the Commanders' only points on the afternoon with a four-yard TD plunge in the fourth quarter, but his longest run went for only six yards, and he was surprisingly out-gained by rookie Chris Rodriguez. Robinson's spot at the top of the depth chart may not be in any immediate danger, but he's been held below 50 rushing yards in four straight contests and is averaging below 4.0 yards per carry for the second straight campaign. Washington's entire running game will face a tough test in Week 8 against the Eagles.

Ezekiel Elliott RB | LAC
Patriots' Ezekiel Elliott: Two-game TD streak
Elliott rushed 11 times for 31 yards and a touchdown while failing to catch his only target in Sunday's 29-25 win over the Bills.
Elliott gave the Patriots a 10-0 first-quarter lead with a two-yard rushing touchdown. It was the 70th rushing touchdown of Elliott's career, and his second touchdown in the last two games after the veteran running back opened his tenure in New England with a five-game touchdown drought. Over the past three games, Elliott has 26 carries to Rhamondre Stevenson's 27, but the former Dallas running back remains a non-factor in the passing game. Elliott has just 59 receiving yards on the season heading into a Week 8 road game in Miami.

Jonathan Taylor RB | IND
Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Totals 120 yards in split backfield
Taylor rushed the ball 18 times for 75 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 39-38 loss to the Browns. He added three receptions on four targets for 45 yards.
Taylor split carries with Zack Moss evenly, similar to the workload split in Week 6. While that's a disappointing outcome for Taylor, his performance was excellent. His longest gain on the ground went for 24 yards, and he also chipped in lengthy gains of 20 and 19 yards as a receiver. Taylor supplemented his yardage total with a five-yard touchdown run to record his first score of the season. The ongoing backfield split will keep Taylor's potential tempered, but he appears to have regained his explosiveness and efficiency.

Darrynton Evans RB | BUF
Bears' Darrynton Evans: Big workload in Sunday's win
Evans carried the ball 14 times for 48 yards and caught one of three targets for six yards in Sunday's 30-12 win over the Raiders.
The 2020 third-round pick saw nearly as many touches as D'Onta Foreman (19), but the latter was far more productive, piling up 120 scrimmage yards and three total TDs. Evans' workload is encouraging, but his role in the Chicago backfield in Week 8 against the Chargers will likely be dependent on the health of Roschon Johnson (concussion).

D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE
Bears' D'Onta Foreman: Three TDs in Week 7 win
Foreman carried the ball 16 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns while catching three of five targets for 31 yards and a third TD in Sunday's 30-12 win over the Raiders.
With Khalil Herbert (ankle) on IR and Roschon Johnson not yet cleared through the league's concussion protocol, Foreman was the lead back for the Bears and scored his first touchdowns of the season in his first three-TD performance since Week 8 of last year, when he was with the Panthers. The veteran back has had trouble even getting onto the field in Chicago and was a healthy scratch for four of the first five games, but after this performance, Foreman figures to have a significant role in Week 8 against the Chargers regardless of Johnson's availability.

Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET
Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Totals 126 yards as lead back
Gibbs rushed the ball 11 times for 68 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Ravens. He added nine receptions on 10 targets for 58 yards.
Gibbs got a chance to lead the Detroit backfield with David Montgomery (ribs) sidelined, and he delivered 126 total yards. He found room to run difficult for most of the game, though that changed early in the fourth quarter -- with the outcome decided -- when he scored his first career touchdown from 21 yards away. Gibbs' volume as a receiver was also notable, as he entered the contest with only 18 targets combined across his first four games. It's unclear whether Montgomery will be back for the Lions' Week 8 matchup against the Raiders, but Gibbs could be in line for another significant workload.

Jerome Ford RB | WAS
Browns' Jerome Ford: Dealing with right ankle issue
Ford, who suffered a right ankle injury during Sunday's 39-38 win over the Colts, was spotted after the contest wearing a protective boot, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Prior to his departure from the contest, Ford logged 11 carries for 74 yards and a TD and caught two of his four targets for 20 yards. Now that he's dealing with an ankle issue, Ford's status for next weekend's game against the Seahawks will need to be monitored. If he ends up limited or sidelined in Week 8, Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong would be next up for the Browns' RB touches, with Deon Jackson potentially a candidate to mix in.
-
Josh Jacobs RB | GB
Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Held in check Sunday
Jacobs carried the ball 11 times for 35 yards and caught one of four targets for six yards in Sunday's 30-12 loss to the Bears.
With Brian Hoyer getting the start at quarterback in place of Jimmy Garoppolo (back), Chicago's defense showed no fear of the Las Vegas passing game and made sure Jacobs wasn't going to beat them instead. Last season's rushing champ has yet to top 77 yards on the ground in a game this season, and that's unlikely to change in Week 8 against a Lions defense that's been among the stingiest in the league against the run in 2023.
-
Rhamondre Stevenson RB | NE
Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Key catches on game-winning drive
Stevenson rushed nine times for 34 yards and caught all six of his targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 29-25 win over the Bills.
Stevenson watched Ezekiel Elliott power in a two-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, giving New England's top two running backs two touchdowns apiece this season. They have worked in a near-even split on the ground over the past three games, but Stevenson remains the preferred option in passing situations. Stevenson showed off his receiving skills with three catches for 41 yards on New England's final drive, which culminated in Mike Gesicki's game-winning one-yard touchdown with 12 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Up next for the Patriots is rematch with the Dolphins, against whom Stevenson rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown back in Week 2.
-
James Cook RB | BUF
Bills' James Cook: Catches TD in Week 7 loss
Cook rushed 13 times for 56 yards while catching all three of his targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-25 loss to the Patriots.
Cook caught an eight-yard touchdown in the third quarter, marking his second scrimmage touchdown of the season. He also topped 100 scrimmage yards for the third time this season while continuing to lead a Buffalo backfield that will be without Damien Harris (neck/concussion) for at least three additional games, including Thursday's upcoming home game against the Buccaneers. Latavius Murray turned six touches into 28 scrimmage yards while spelling Cook.
