  • Hassan Haskins RB | LAC

Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Sits out practice Tuesday

Haskins (hamstring) was a non-participant in practice Tuesday.

Haskins has gone down as a non-participant on both of the Chargers' first two Week 8 practice reports, and head coach Jim Harbaugh acknowledged earlier Tuesday that the running back is unlikely to play Thursday versus Minnesota. Assuming Haskins is officially ruled out following Wednesday's session, Kimani Vidal would be in line to lead the Los Angeles backfield Thursday, while Nyheim Hines, Jaret Patterson and/or Trayveon Williams could be elevated from the practice squad to provide depth.

  • Zavier Scott RB | MIN

Vikings' Zavier Scott: Limited in walk-through session

Scott (wrist) was a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice.

Scott has been listed as a limited practice participant in each of the first two days of the week due to a wrist injury he picked up in the Vikings' Week 7 loss to the Eagles. Before deciding whether Scott carries a designation into Thursday's game against the Chargers, the Vikings will see if he's able to increase his activity level Wednesday. In related news, fellow running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday, and he could be a candidate to be activated ahead of Thursday's game. If Jones isn't added back to the roster for Week 8, however, Scott -- if available -- would serve as the top backup to Jordan Mason.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Vikings' Aaron Jones: Limited in return to practice

Jones (hamstring) was a limited participant at the Vikings' walkthrough practice Tuesday.

Jones was designated for return from injured reserve Tuesday and had his reps capped in his first practice since Week 2. The running back has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in a Sept. 14 loss to the Falcons, but after missing the required four games, he's eligible to be activated from IR at any time. According to Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed optimism earlier Tuesday that Jones would be able to play Thursday against the Chargers, noting that the running back doesn't necessarily need a full week of practice to play because of the rehab work that he's been able to do off to the side in recent weeks. The Vikings should provide more clarity on Jones' Week 8 status when they release their final injury report Wednesday.

  • Saints' Velus Jones: Back on active roster

The Saints signed Jones from their practice squad to their active roster Tuesday.

Jones was on New Orleans' active roster for the first five weeks of the campaign before being waived Oct. 7. He then signed to the team's practice squad, and he'll now return to the active roster in the wake of Kendre Miller's season-ending knee injury. When Jones was on the roster earlier in the campaign, he played almost exclusively on special teams, notching just two offensive snaps but racking up 183 kick-return yards. He may get a few more opportunities on offense moving forward but figures to still be third in the RB pecking order behind Alvin Kamara and Devin Neal.

  • Owen Wright RB | TB

Owen Wright: Goes back to practice squad

Wright reverted to Tampa Bay's practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transactions log.

Wright was available for the Bucs in Week 7 with Bucky Irving (foot) still sidelined, but there were no offensive snaps left over for him behind Rachaad White (62) and Sean Tucker (7). He could be brought back up to the active roster in Week 8 at New Orleans if Irving sits out again.

  • Hassan Haskins RB | LAC

Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Unlikely to play Thursday

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday that Haskins (hamstring) is doubtful to play Thursday against the Vikings, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

In the Chargers' 38-24 loss to the Colts this past Sunday, Haskins handled just three touches while Kimani Vidal led the backfield with 13. Haskins' hamstring injury may have played a factor in his limited usage, and now that Haskins is likely headed for a Week 8 absence, Vidal could be entrusted with an even larger share of the workload. The Chargers have Nyheim Hines and Trayveon Williams as available backfield options on their practice squad and could look to promote either or both players ahead of Thursday's contest.

  • Saints' Kendre Miller: Lands on IR

The Saints placed Miller (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Miller's move to IR was merely a formality after head coach Kellen Moore confirmed that the third-year running back sustained a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Bears. The 23-year-old will be entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2026 and could have a chance at making it back for Week 1 of next season, though it will be contingent on him avoiding any setbacks in the long rehab process from surgery. Devin Neal is expected to step in as the Saints' new No. 2 running back in place of Miller, who had amassed 193 yards and one touchdown on 47 carries to go with five catches for 30 yards over seven games while serving as Alvin Kamara's top backup.

  • Trayveon Williams: Signed to Bolts' practice squad

The Chargers signed Williams to the practice squad Tuesday.

Williams was cut from the Browns' practice squad in early September, but the 2019 sixth-round pick will get fresh start with the Chargers. He could be elevated to the roster for Thursday's game against the Vikings if Hassan Haskins (hamstring) isn't cleared to play this week, which would leave Los Angeles with a need for backfield depth. Williams appeared in 17 games for the Bengals in 2024, but he primarily served on special teams and didn't record a carry or target.

  • Robbie Ouzts RB | SEA

Seahawks' Robbie Ouzts: Chance to return Week 9

Head coach Mike Macdonald said Tuesday that Ouzts (ankle) could be activated off injured reserve ahead of Week 9 against the Commanders on Sunday, Nov. 2, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Ouzts was placed on injured reserve in late September after he sustained an ankle injury during the Seahawks' Week 3 win over the Saints. Seattle is on a bye for Week 8, which gives him additional time to recover and return to practice, which would put him in position to be activated off IR ahead of Week 9. Ouzts played tight end during his collegiate career at Alabama, but the Seahawks selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the intent of converting him to a full-time fullback.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Vikings' Aaron Jones: Cleared to practice Tuesday

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Tuesday that Jones (hamstring) has been designated for return from injured reserve, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

After spending the past five weeks on IR and missing the requisite four games while recovering from a hamstring strain, Jones is eligible to resume practicing, and the running back looks set to take part in Tuesday's walk-through as Minnesota prepares for Thursday's game against the Chargers. According to Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune, O'Connell is leaving the door open for Jones to be activated from IR this week, noting that the work the veteran running back has been able to do off to the side in recent weeks could be enough to compensate for the Vikings' lack of traditional practices on a short week. Minnesota will have a 21-day window to assess his health, so even if Jones remains out Thursday, he could be added back to the 53-man roster at any point over the next three weeks. Whenever he's reinstated, Jones will likely be deployed in a timeshare with Jordan Mason.
