  • Chiefs' Darwin Thompson: Falls ill Thursday

Thompson (illness) was unable to participate during Thursday's practice session, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Le'Veon Bell's mid-October arrival has zapped Thompson's offensive usage over the past two months. The Utah State standout posted three different outings with multiple rush attempts between Weeks 1 and 6, but since that point, he has been handed a carry in just one of the past six games. An absence from Thompson during a Week 15 matchup against the Saints would likely only impact Kansas City in the special-teams realm.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Another limited session

Robinson (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Though Robinson was limited at practice last week, he approached Week 14 action minus an injury designation. Such a pattern could well be repeated this time around, a notion that will be confirmed either way upon the release of Friday's final injury report in advance of Sunday's game against the Ravens. Last weekend, Robinson ended up being the only Jacksonville back with a carry in the team's 31-10 loss to the Titans.

  • 49ers' Raheem Mostert: Bumps up to limited

Mostert (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Mostert emerged from the 49ers' Week 14 loss to Washington with an ankle issue, marking his second such injury of the campaign. Clearly, the current one is far less severe, as he followed up Wednesday's absence with some activity one day later. He has one more opportunity to bump up to full Friday, but even if he doesn't he seems poised to be no less than 'questionable' for Sunday's game in Dallas. Behind Mostert, Jeff Wilson is next in the pecking order at running back, with Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon also on hand.

  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Officially limited Thursday

Mattison (illness) was a limited practice participant Thursday.

During the portion of the session open to the media, Mattison took part in stretching and individual drills, which was enough for him to get the limited tag on Thursday's injury report. He's missed the last two games after getting an appendectomy Dec. 5, but his presence at practice may indicate he won't make it three.

  • Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI

Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Repeats limited showing in practice

Ahmed (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's walk-through practice.

Ahmed has missed three consecutive games with a shoulder injury, but he's demonstrated some good progress this week by practicing in a limited fashion Wednesday and Thursday. He'll likely need to upgrade to full activity Friday to avoid carrying a designation into Sunday's game against the Patriots, but even another limited showing wouldn't close the door on him suiting up this weekend. If cleared to play, Ahmed would likely be contending with DeAndre Washington, Matt Breida and Patrick Laird for backfield reps, as Myles Gaskin (illness) isn't expected to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's contest.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

    Titans' Derrick Henry: Limited Thursday

Henry was added to the Titans' practice/injury report after logging a limited session Thursday due to a non injury-related reason, John Glennon of BroadwaySportsMedia.com reports.

While this could be something routine, given the uniqueness of the current season, it's worth checking back on Henry's status Friday to see if he approaches Sunday's game against the Lions with any degree of uncertainty regarding his Week 15 status.

  • Chase Edmonds RB | WAS

Cardinals' Chase Edmonds: No practice again Thursday

Edmonds (ankle) was unable to practice Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Edmonds kicked off the session with a workout on a side field, and ultimately he was a non-participant for a second straight day. Coach Kliff Kingsbury suggested Wednesday that Edmonds will be a game-time call for Sunday's contest against the Eagles, a decision that will be made approximately 90 minutes before the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. If Edmonds does sit out this weekend, Kenyan Drake likely will take on a larger workload than normal, considering the only other Cardinals RB to earn a touch this season is practice squad member D.J. Foster.

  • Damien Harris RB | BUF

Patriots' Damien Harris: Back on injury report

Harris (ankle) was added to the Patriots' Week 15 injury report after logging a limited practice Thursday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

It remains to be seen if Harris' listed limitations are the result of an in-practice setback or simply a case of the running back managing a minor ankle issue, but either way, he's one of 13 New England players who was classified as limited Thursday. If Harris is out or limited Sunday against the Dolphins, Sony Michel would be in line to see added touches out of the team's Week 15 backfield.

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Steelers' James Conner: DNP on Thursday

Conner (quad) didn't practice Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

The running back still has two chances to return to practice this week, but his status must be closely monitored as Monday night's game against the Bengals approaches. If he's out or limited in Week 15, Benny Snell and Jaylen Samuels would be in line to head the Steelers' backfield versus 2-10-1 Cincinnati.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: On pace for another absence

McCaffrey (thigh) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game at Green Bay, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.

McCaffrey followed the same exact regimen last week before the Panthers ruled him out: limited to kick off the practice week, followed by no activity the next two days before receiving a doubtful tag. As a result, he's in line to miss a fifth consecutive contest and 11th overall this season. In McCaffrey's stead, look for Mike Davis to lead the Panthers backfield yet again.
