Christian McCaffrey RB | SF
Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Dealing with knee injury
McCaffrey was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
After the session, coach Ron Rivera expressed "no concern" about McCaffrey's health, according to Rodrigue. It still bears watching as the week goes on, but there doesn't seem to be much worry about McCaffrey's availability for Sunday's game against the Titans.

Miles Sanders RB | DAL
Eagles' Miles Sanders: Absent from practice Wednesday
Sanders (shoulder) wasn't spotted at the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Sanders exited Sunday's win over the Bills due to a shoulder issue. Coach Doug Pederson called Sanders day-to-day on Monday based on the results of his X-rays, indicating that 22-year-old avoided a major injury. The rookie will have two more opportunities to practice in some capacity ahead of the Week 9 tilt against the Bears. With Jordan Howard healthy and capable of carrying the load and Boston Scott also on hand as a change-of-pace option, it wouldn't be a very surprising if Philadelphia's coaching staff opts to take a cautious approach with Sanders' recovery.

Darwin Thompson RB | LV
Chiefs' Darwin Thompson: Loses yard in loss
Thompson caught his only target for a loss of a yard during Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Packers.
With LeSean McCoy and Damien and Darrel Williams all active, it was a bit of a surprise that Thompson even suited up Sunday, and he didn't see much action on offense. The rookie has just 11 total yards in limited action this season. Even if he plays Sunday, he's a poor option against Minnesota's seventh-ranked rush defense.

Kenyan Drake RB | GB
Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: In line for modest load
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Drake will have a "manageable workload" Thursday against the 49ers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
With David Johnson (ankle) day-to-day and Chase Edmonds (hamstring) doubtful to play this week, Kingsbury's comment doesn't exactly inspire confidence that Drake will be the primary back in his first appearance with the Cardinals. Assuming Johnson and Edmonds are sidelined, Drake seems poised to split work with Zach Zenner and Alfred Morris, both of whom have just one more week of experience in the offense. Thursday's matchup versus San Francisco's second-ranked scoring defense doesn't bode well for any of the trio making a significant impact.

Raheem Mostert RB | LV
49ers' Raheem Mostert: No practice Tuesday
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Mostert (knee) will be held out of practice Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Both Mostert and Matt Breida (ankle) will be non-participants, leaving Tevin Coleman and Jeff Wilson as the 49ers' only healthy running backs. There seems to be a chance that Breida won't play Thursday, so if Mostert gets the all-clear to suit up Thursday, he could be the No. 2 or No. 3 RB in what has been an explosive ground attack this season.

Matt Breida RB | SF
49ers' Matt Breida: Sitting out Tuesday's practice
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Breida (ankle) won't practice Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Breida emerged from Sunday's win against the Panthers with an ankle injury, which would have limited him if the 49ers held practice Monday. The team is taking the field at Levi's Stadium on Tuesday evening, but Breida won't be out there. "If we had to go today, it wouldn't be good," Shanahan added about Breida. Wednesday's injury report will reveal Breida's game-day status, but it seems like there's potential for him to sit out Thursday at Arizona. Such a scenario would bump Jeff Wilson into the backup spot behind Tevin Coleman.

Benny Snell RB | DET
Steelers' Benny Snell: Picks up knee injury Monday
Snell sustained a knee injury during Monday's win versus the Dolphins, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
With Jaylen Samuels (knee) sitting out a second straight game Monday, Snell received his second-highest share of the offensive snaps (14 percent) of 2019, turning five carries into 13 yards. In the process, Snell injured his knee, which preceded James Conner's own departure late in the contest. Conner has an AC joint injury, so the status of the entire backfield will be one to watch throughout Week 9 prep. Trey Edmunds is the only healthy running back on the Steelers roster right now.

Dare Ogunbowale RB | LV
Buccaneers' Dare Ogunbowale: Minimal role in loss
Ogunbowale rushed once for minus-2 yards and brought in one of three targets for three yards in the Buccaneers' 27-23 loss to the Titans on Sunday.
The third-down back was coming off his first career NFL touchdown in Week 6 against the Panthers, but he was unable to generate any sort of even mildly successful encore. Ogunbowale still saw plenty of playing time -- his 27 snaps from scrimmage tied for his second-highest tally of the season in that category -- but he retains minimal fantasy value in only the deepest of PPR formats in his current role.

James Conner RB | ARI
Steelers' James Conner: Likely to have practice reps capped
Coach Mike Tomlin said Conner's AC joint injury will "limit him surely in the early portions of the week," Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Conner exited in the fourth quarter of Monday's win against the Dolphins and afterward was spotted with a sling on his right arm. Tomlin's comments imply Conner may be inhibited in practice this week, if he takes the field at all, but he also doesn't need reps during the week to be ready for game day. The Steelers next suit up Sunday against the Colts, so Wednesday's injury report will be telling for Conner and the entire backfield as a whole. Aside from Conner, Jaylen Samuels has missed the last two games due to a knee injury while Benny Snell suffered a knee issue of his own Monday, leaving Trey Edmunds as the team's only healthy RB at the moment.

Benny Snell RB | DET
Steelers' Benny Snell: Manages just 13 yards in win
Snell ran for 13 yards on five carries in Monday's 27-14 win over the Dolphins.
With Jaylen Samuels (knee) inactive it was all James Conner (150 total yards and a touchdown), leaving Snell to pick-up scraps. Conner was seen with his right shoulder in a sling after the game, which could give Snell an opportunity for a larger role in the coming weeks. Monitor Conner's status, but even if Snell sees more touches fantasy owners should temper their expectations for Week 9 against a Colts defense that allows an average of just 85.6 rushing yards per game, has not allowed an opposing running back to run for more than 88 yards this season, and has yielded just one rushing touchdown to a running back in their last five games.
