  • Packers' Emanuel Wilson: Limited to two snaps

Wilson had one carry for four yards in Sunday's 27-13 victory over the Lions.

With starting running back Josh Jacobs handling the bulk of the work in Green Bay's backfield, Wilson was on the field for only two plays Sunday, but he was handed the football on one of them. Wilson is averaging 5.0 YPC across 118 career attempts, so -- depending on the status of MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) he could be next up for carries if Jacobs were to go down. However, fellow running back Chris Brooks -- who played nine snaps Sunday -- is more effective as a pass catcher and blocker, so as long as Jacobs is out there it seems likely Wilson will operate as the third running back.

  • Packers' Chris Brooks: Operates as backup

Brooks had one carry for one yard and one reception for two yards in Sunday's 27-13 victory over the Lions.

Josh Jacobs started at running back and handled all but three of the 23 touches racked up by Green Bay ball carriers, but Brooks was next in line, finishing with nine snaps and two touches compared to the two plays and one carry logged by fellow reserve Emanuel Wilson. The latter is a more effective runner and -- depending on the status of MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) -- could be the favorite for carries if Jacobs were to go down, but as things stand consider Brooks the No. 2 option thanks to his superiority in the passing game, both as a receiver and blocker.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Limited to special teams

Reynolds didn't record a touch in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Packers.

The 29-year-old from Kutztown was limited to special-teams work in the Lions' regular-season opener, logging 11 snaps in that phase and none on offense. He appears firmly behind both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery in Detroit's backfield, so he likely won't see much, if any, meaningful offensive work barring an injury. Reynolds is projected to play a similar role in the Lions' Week 2 contest against the Bears.

  • Trevor Etienne RB | CAR

Panthers' Trevor Etienne: One touch in NFL debut

Etienne rushed one time for four yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Jaguars.

The 2025 fourth-round pick from Georgia appears firmly behind both Chuba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle in Carolina's backfield, as Etienne played just two offensive snaps Sunday. However, the 21-year-old served as the Panthers' top kick and punt returner, logging 43 kick-return yards. Etienne is expected to remain a depth option in Carolina's backfield ahead of a Week 2 matchup with the Cardinals.

  • Falcons' Carlos Washington: Plays exclusively on special teams

Washington played 10 special-teams snaps during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers.

Undrafted rookie Nathan Carter was a healthy inactive, so Washington was elevated from the practice squad and served as the No. 3 running back behind Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. The Robinson-Allgeier duo is one of the best in the NFL, so it's going to be hard for Washington or Carter to carve out anything more than an emergency depth role in 2025.

  • Steelers' Kenneth Gainwell: Limited production in Week 1

Gainwell rushed seven times for 19 yards while securing three of four targets for four yards during Sunday's 34-32 win over the Jets.

While rookie Kaleb Johnson drew plenty of buzz during training camp and preseason action as a complementary back alongside Jaylen Warren, Gainwell was on the field for 54 percent of the Steelers' offensive snaps in Sunday's regular-season opener, while Johnson played just two offensive snaps. Gainwell's playing time was encouraging, but he was inefficient with his opportunities. As long as Pittsburgh's backfield remains relatively healthy, it seems unlikely that the 26-year-old will have much fantasy upside in 2025, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Johnson take some of Gainwell's snaps as the season progresses.

  • Tyler Badie RB | DEN

Broncos' Tyler Badie: Two grabs against Titans

Badie caught two of six targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Titans.

Badie's six targets were the third-highest total of any Broncos player Sunday, though the running back failed to record a single rushing attempt in the contest. The 25-year-old played 14 snaps on offense, behind both J.K. Dobbins (40) and RJ Harvey (22). Badie did see work on special teams as well, playing 14 snaps with the unit. Fellow running back Jaleel McLaughlin was inactive for the game, and it remains to be seen if that will be the case in Week 2. Badie's usage could suggest that his versatility will lead to him being active again in the Broncos' next game. Nonetheless, Badie will look to make the most of his opportunities when the Broncos visit the Colts in Week 2, though he remains far off the fantasy radar.

  • Colts' Ulysses Bentley: Plays two snaps in reserve role

Bentley played two snaps on offense in Sunday's win over Miami but did not have a carry or a target.

Bentley was activated from the practice squad before the game with Tyler Goodson inactive with an elbow injury. Bentley may return to the practice squad when Goodson is able to return in the next week or two.

  • DJ Giddens RB | IND

Colts' DJ Giddens: Gets 12 carries in Colts debut

Giddens had 12 carries for 41 yards in Sunday's win over Miami.

Giddens took over for Jonathan Taylor for a series in the third quarter when he needed a rest and didn't look overmatched in his Colts debut. Giddens looks like he could get consistent touches to spell Taylor during games, but the return of Tyler Goodson (elbow) as early as next week could divide the backup touches in the backfield.

  • Rico Dowdle RB | CAR

Panthers' Rico Dowdle: Five touches in Week 1

Dowdle rushed three times for 12 yards and caught two of three targets for four yards during Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Jaguars.

The first-year Panther underwhelmed in his regular-season debut, playing just 22 of the team's 64 offensive snaps. Dowdle, who rushed for 1,079 yards with the Cowboys last season, appears firmly behind Chuba Hubbard in Carolina's backfield. Hubbard's 43 offensive snaps led to 19 touches for 89 total yards and one touchdown. However, the game script favored the pass, which likely limited Dowdle's opportunities, as the Panthers trailed by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss. Dowdle is expected to serve as the Panthers' top backup running back again Week 2 against the Cardinals.
