Charles Sims RB | TB
Buccaneers' Charles Sims: Has impressive catch-and-run for score in Week 1
Sims only managed nine yards on four carries but secured all three of his targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-24 victory over the Falcons.
The versatile third-year man received limited opportunities on the ground but made a major contribution in the passing game with an impressive catch-and-run for a score just before halftime to give the Bucs a 17-13 lead. Sims displayed his open-field and tackle-busting skills on the play, making a nifty move to elude one defender and subsequently breaking a couple of tackles to get into the end zone. Sims figures to play a pivotal role in the short-to-intermediate passing attack for Jameis Winston this season.

Melvin Gordon RB | BAL
Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Scores first two career touchdowns
Gordon carried the ball 14 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
Last year's first-round pick topped 57 yards rushing just twice last year with six fumbles and not a touchdown to show for his efforts. Gordon started off 2016 right and will likely be asked to be a more focal part of the offense should top target Keenan Allen miss the remainder of the season. In addition to San Diego leaning more on the run, Gordon and fellow back Danny Woodhead will also likely be asked to contribute as receivers - something Gordon showed flashes of being able to do in 2015.
-
Doug Martin RB | LV
Buccaneers' Doug Martin: Contributes 98 yards of offense in Week 1 victory
Martin totaled 62 yards on 18 carries and secured all five targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 31-24 victory over the Falcons.
The bell cow back was solid in his first taste of regular season action, even making some impressive contributions in the passing game. Jameis Winston and the air attack did take center stage Sunday, particularly in the red zone, limiting Martin's opportunities somewhat. However, there is little doubt he'll serve as an integral component of the Bucs' offense following the major offseason commitment that the team made to him.

Knile Davis RB | PIT
Chiefs' Knile Davis: Doesn't touch the ball against San Diego
Despite being active for Sunday's win over San Diego, Davis failed to record a touch.
Davis collected over 600 total yards in backup duty just two years ago, but has now fallen behind both Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West in the pecking order. It wouldn't be a surprise if he begins wearing street clothes to games once Jamaal Charles returns from injury, and he might not see much action between now and then.

Zach Zenner RB | NO
Lions' Zach Zenner: Inactive Week 1
Zenner (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Colts, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.
Zenner is not known to be nursing an injury, but will sit this one out in favor of rookie Dwayne Washington. Fullback Michael Burton will likely handle any short-yardage work, if needed, behind starting RB Ameer Abdullah.

Thomas Rawls RB | JAC
Seahawks' Thomas Rawls: Active Sunday
Rawls (illness) is listed as active Sunday against the Dolphins, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Entering the season as a question mark due to a broken ankle suffered in Week 14 last year, Rawls avoided an appearance on Wednesday's injury report, only to log a DNP on Thursday due to an illness. On Friday, he was removed following a full practice, but head coach Pete Carroll nonetheless named Christine Michael the starting running back for the opener, according to John Boyle of the team's official site. A wait-and-see approach is likely the best way to handle Rawls off the bat.

Jhurrell Pressley RB | ATL
Packers' Jhurell Pressley: Inactive for Sunday
Pressley is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars due to a coach's decision.
Pressley was claimed off waivers by the Packers last Sunday, leaving him little time to get accustomed to his new team's playbook. Once he's up to speed, look for Pressley to serve as a third-down back as he fills in for John Crockett (shoulder), who was placed on IR last week.

Jerick McKinnon RB | KC
Vikings' Jerick McKinnon: Active Sunday
McKinnon (foot) is listed as active Sunday at Tennessee.
Touted as a pass catcher, McKinnon's status was in question after missing Thursday's practice, but head coach Mike Zimmer allayed fears Friday, stating the running back "should be fine" for Week 1. While the presence of Adrian Peterson capped McKinnon at nine carries in any given contest in 2015, the latter finished off the campaign with multiple catches in six of his last nine games.
