  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Expected to be released by Miami

The Dolphins informed Mostert that he will be released this offseason, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The move isn't yet official, but the Dolphins have informed Mostert's agent, Brett Tessler, of the impending move. It's a no-brainer for Miami and will clear more than $2.97 million against the salary cap. Mostert is coming off an extremely down year, rushing just 85 times for 278 yards and two touchdowns across 13 games just one season after leading the NFL with 18 rushing scores. De'Von Achane took over clear RB1 duties for the Dolphins, and even Jaylen Wright was playing ahead of Mostert for much of the year. Mostert turns 33 years old in April and may be running out of gas at this stage of his career.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Ravens' Derrick Henry: Wants to finish career in Baltimore

Henry said last week that he wants to finish his career with the Ravens, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has already mentioned Henry as a candidate for an extension, after the 31-year-old ran for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns in 17 regular-season games during the first year of a two-year, $16 million contract. The two sides likely will discuss a deal that lowers Henry's 2025 cap hit ($12.895 million) without reducing his real-money compensation. He's currently scheduled for a non-guaranteed $6 million base salary and a $1 million roster bonus (due on the fifth day of the 2025 league year), plus $2.5 million available via incentives ($2 million of which he earned in 2024).

  • Chiefs' Keaontay Ingram: Inks future deal with Chiefs

Kansas City signed Ingram to a reserve/future contract Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Ingram signed a one-year, $985,000 contract with the Chiefs in February 2024 after spending the first two year of his NFL career with the Cardinals. He wasn't able to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp in late August, but Ingram was signed to the active roster in mid-September after Isiah Pacheco was placed on injured reserve due to a fibula fracture. Ingram's only appearance of the 2024 season was Week 3 against the Falcons, and after being waived from the active roster Sept. 24 he opted to stick around by signing to the Chiefs' practice squad two days later. Ingram will be on the 90-man roster at the start of the new league year and will be able to participate in offseason activities and training camp ahead of the 2025 season.

  • Saints' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Staying in New Orleans

Edwards-Helaire signed a reserve/future contract with the Saints on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Edwards-Helaire started the 2024 season on the Chiefs' reserve/non-football illness list. He was activated from the NFI list Oct. 15 but was a healthy scratch for the next nine games and was ultimately waived by Kansas City in mid-December. He signed with the Saints' practice squad two days later and was elevated for the final two games of the regular season, during which he logged 13 carries for 46 yards while adding three catches (on five targets) for 24 yards. By signing a future contract, Edwards-Helaire will be on the Saints' 90-man roster for the start of the new league year March 12. He'll be able to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp and will look to earn a spot on New Orleans' 53-man roster for the 2025 season.

  • Carson Steele RB | PHI

Chiefs' Carson Steele: Early impact as rookie

Steele rushed 56 times for 183 yards and hauled in seven of his 11 targets for 26 yards in 17 games during the 2025 regular season.

Steele was immediately asked to contribute as a rookie, including a 17-carry effort against the Falcons in Week 3. However, his contributions waned as the season wore on following the addition of Kareem Hunt as a free-agent signing and the return of Isiah Pacheco from a rib injury. Hunt and Samaje Perine were on one-year deals with the Chiefs, making the pair free agents ahead of the 2025 campaign. Even so, the front office presumably will add another couple of backs to the room during the offseason via free agency or the draft. Steele likely will need to earn his way up the depth chart behind Pacheco heading into next year.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Chiefs' Samaje Perine: Works as pass-catching back in 2024

Perine rushed 20 times for 92 yards and a touchdown in 17 games during the 2024 regular season, adding 28 catches for 322 yards and a touchdown on 35 targets.

Of Perine's 20 carries during the regular season, 11 came in a two-week stretch in Weeks 3 and 4. He contributed a little bit in the playoffs with a carry for eight yards in the Super Bowl and a catch for 17 yards against the Bills in the AFC Championship Game, but most of his extended work came while Isiah Pacheco was sidelined early in the year due to a rib injury. Perine still has proven to be a reliable pass catcher but hasn't graded out particularly well as a pass blocker in the last couple of campaigns, per PFF. He'll enter the 2025 offseason as an unrestricted free agent following his one-year deal with the Chiefs and will compete with others on the market and a strong rookie running back crop for a backup job next fall.

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Starts, but produces little Sunday

Pacheco took three carries for seven yards and brought in one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's 40-22 loss to the Eagles.

Pacheco was the first back deployed out of Kansas City's backfield in what turned out to be a blowout loss for the Chiefs. Recent starter Kareem Hunt wound up matching Pacheco in total touches, so the starting honors meant little in the one-sided affair. That said, his veteran counterpart is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason while Pacheco still has one year left on his rookie contract. The Chiefs could bolster their backfield in the coming months, but Pacheco stands to be the favorite to start next year as the situation currently stands.

  • Kareem Hunt RB | KC

Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Minimal production on four touches

Hunt took three carries for nine yards and brought in his only target for five yards in Sunday's 40-22 loss to Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX.

Isiah Pacheco technically drew the start against the Eagles, but both tailbacks finished with four touches apiece with neither doing much from a fantasy perspective. Hunt failed to extend his postseason touchdown streak to three games, resulting in a disappointing performance overall. The 29-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason after rejuvenating his career in Kansas City in 2024.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Eagles' Saquon Barkley: Workhorse role in SB win

Barkley rushed 25 times for 57 yards and brought in six of seven targets for 40 yards in the Eagles' 40-22 win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

Playing in his first Super Bowl on his 28th birthday, Barkley filled his usual workhorse role but finished with unremarkable numbers on the ground. However, the prized offseason acquisition ground out some tough yards throughout the night to help keep the clock running, and he was a key outlet receiver for Jalen Hurts on multiple occasions while posting a team-high number of receptions that also served as his most yet in an Eagles uniform. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year also broke Terrell Davis' 26-year-old record for most combined rushing yards in a regular season and postseason, edging the former Bronco's mark of 2,476 yards by finishing with 2,490. Additionally, Barkley became the ninth player to rush for 2,000 yards in the regular season during his first campaign with Philadelphia, and despite his relatively nondescript night Sunday, there's no disputing his addition was key to the second Super Bowl win in franchise history.

  • Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Set for Super Bowl

Gainwell (concussion/knee) doesn't carry a designation into Sunday's Super Bowl LIX matchup versus the Chiefs.

Since sustaining a concussion in the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 26, Gainwell didn't take part in drills last week, but a limited session Wednesday was followed by back-to-back uncapped practices. Now, with no designation to speak of, he's gained clearance from an independent neurologist and thus is good to serve as the direct backup to workhorse RB Saquon Barkley this weekend. In three postseason games so far, Gainwell has combined for 10 touches for 58 yards from scrimmage.
