  • Hassan Haskins RB | LAC

Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Handles three carries in win

Haskins rushed three times for 11 yards in Sunday's 26-3 win over the Panthers.

Haskins played just five of the Chargers' 69 offensive snaps Sunday, well behind Gus Edwards (33) and J.K. Dobbins (32). With Edwards and Dobbins splitting the majority of work atop the running back depth chart, the 24-year-old Haskins should continue to operate in a similar depth role going forward. The Chargers will visit the Steelers in Week 3.

  • Packers' Chris Brooks: Inks to active roster

The Packers signed Brooks to the active roster from the practice squad Tuesday.

Brooks bumps up to the 53-man roster following the placement of rookie MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) on injured reserve. He figures to work as Green Bay's third-string running back behind Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson during Sunday's road matchup against the Colts.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Royce Freeman: Inks to Cleveland's practice squad

The Browns signed Freeman to the practice squad Tuesday.

Freeman spent time with the Cowboys this offseason, but he wasn't able to stick to the team's final roster. Now, he gets an opportunity in Cleveland, where, with Pierre Strong (hamstring) considered week-to-week, a chance to contribute could come as early as Sunday versus the Giants.

  • Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Out with ankle sprain

The Packers placed Lloyd (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday.

The rookie third-round pick missed considerable time in training camp and the preseason with hip and hamstring injuries and was inactive for the Packers' season-opening loss to the Eagles. He made his NFL debut in a Week 2 win over the Colts but played just 10 snaps before spraining his ankle, gaining 15 rushing yards on six carries plus three yards on one reception. Lloyd will miss at least the next four games after landing on IR. The Packers signed Chris Brooks off their practice squad in a corresponding move to provide a third option in the backfield behind Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson.

  • Kareem Hunt RB | KC

Kareem Hunt: Joins Kansas City's practice squad

Hunt signed with the Chiefs' practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

After meeting with the team Tuesday, Hunt quickly came to an agreement on a deal. He'll begin his second stint in the organization as a member of the practice squad, but the 29-year-old could be elevated to the active roster as soon as this Sunday's game in Atlanta, with Kansas City in need of backfield depth with Isiah Pacheco (fibula) expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks. Rookie Carson Steele appears to be first in line for carries with Pacheco out of the mix, and Samaje Perine represents an experienced option on passing downs, but Hunt could eventually work his way up the depth chart if he's able to quickly re-familiarize himself with head coach Andy Reid's playbook. Though he won a rushing title as a rookie and accounted for more than 1,200 yards from scrimmage in Reid's offense in both of his first two NFL seasons before he was released in November 2018, Hunt looked well removed from his prime during his time with Cleveland last season. While appearing in 15 games for the Browns in 2023, Hunt averaged career-low marks in yards per carry (3.0) and yards per reception (5.6). However, he was slowed by a core-muscle injury before undergoing surgery in January, so Kansas City may be banking on a better version of Hunt showing up now that he's ostensibly healthy.

  • Avery Williams RB | NYJ

Falcons' Avery Williams: Operates primarily as returner

Williams returned one punt for 11 yards and one kickoff for 22 yards during Monday's 22-21 win over the Eagles.

Williams saw his first two offensive snaps of the season but didn't record a touch. He has 39 punt-return yards through two weeks and appears to have solidified himself as the Falcons' top return man.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Move involved in Week 2

Allgeier rushed nine times for 53 yards and caught his lone target for 12 yards during Monday's 22-21 win over the Eagles.

After three touches in nine offensive snaps during Week 1, Allgeier touched the ball on 10 of his 13 offensive snaps during Monday Night Football. However, starting RB Bijan Robinson was the star of the Falcons' offense all night, totaling 19 touches for 101 yards. Allgeier's snap count through two games suggests he's nothing more than an insurance policy, but his 6.2 yards per carry tells a different story. While that's likely unsustainable, Allgeier's efficient night might earn him more opportunities moving forward.

  • Deuce Vaughn RB | DEN

Cowboys' Deuce Vaughn: Fives touches Sunday

Vaughn carried the ball four times for 11 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

The second-year player continues to mix into the backfield behind Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott, but Vaughn has yet to find much running room, as his six-yard reception Sunday is his longest gain of the year so far. Should Dallas decide to elevate Dalvin Cook from the practice squad at some point, it could be Vaughn who loses his spot on the game-day roster.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Poor showing in loss

Elliott carried the ball six times for 16 yards and caught two of three targets for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

Rico Dowdle got the start in the backfield for the Cowboys, and while Elliott eventually saw a comparable workload (eight touches to Dowdle's 11), the veteran was less effective. So far, Elliott's return to Dallas hasn't gone well. He's averaged just 3.5 yards per carry through two games, and only a three-yard TD plunge in the opener has salvaged his fantasy production. A breakout seems unlikely Week 3 against a stingy Ravens run defense that's allowed the fewest rushing yards per game in the league through two weeks.

  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Dalvin Cook: Unlikely to be elevated Week 3

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a radio appearance Tuesday that Cook is unlikely to be elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports. "I don't necessarily see a change that would involve Cook this week," Jones said.

Though the Cowboys are coming off an embarrassing 44-19 home loss to the Saints, Jones doesn't pin the blame on the three players in Dallas' running back room, who were limited to 17 carries due in large part to a negative game script. The trio of Rico Dowdle, Ezekiel Elliott and Deuce Vaughn hasn't been particularly efficient through two weeks, however -- Dowdle paces the backfield with an average of 3.7 yards per carry. After averaging a career-worst 3.2 yards per carry in 15 games with the Jets in 2023, Cook doesn't seemed to be viewed by Dallas as an upgrade on any of the current group. It may take an injury for Cook to get an opportunity to suit up for the Cowboys.
